Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Mostly original minus paint and wiring. Converted to 12 volt with fuse block installed. Flat head engine runs like a top recent tune up. Brakes have been replaced from top to bottom, lines, shoes, master cylinder with remote reservoir, pressure switch. Three speed shifts out out good and doesn’t pop out of gear. Twin stick transfercase. Everything works great even have original hand crank windshield wiper just not installed. Clean title and tag up to date.”

This is the first time I’ve seen a pick-axe mounted in the bow holders. The jeep isn’t quite all original. I’m not sure how the trailer and jeep are matching numbers, but maybe I am misunderstood the first sentence.

Described as “Fully and professionally restored Army Jeep”, it isn’t either (not fully ‘restored’ and not an Army Jeep). That said, it looks like there was a great deal of work done on this. The serial number suggests it is a 1947.

Looks solid. Drain holes are filled, so this probably is a body that has had some work done. Thanks to J.P. for spotting it.

Because this sits on a post 1971 CJ-5 chassis, the grille sits about 3″ farther forward than on a standard flattie, so the fenders and hood will have to be modified to fit.
