(09/10/2015) It’s a project, but includes an engine that might have been rebuilt.

“1948 Willy’s CJ2A jeep. This is a project waiting for the right person. Engine is a flat head four cylinder and appears to have been rebuilt. Looks like most everything is there except the seats and radiator. Last driven on the streets in 1984. Transfer case has two levers, one for 2-4 wheel drive, one for high-low range. Very good shape for a vehicle this old. Restore it, build a crawler or just drive it the way it is. Great patina. It is titled as a 1948, no emission requirements like air pumps or catalytic converters. You can put any engine you want under the hood and not have to worry about it. Lock out hubs.”

Original post (Mar. 6, 2014) Joe spotted these jeeps in a parking in downtown Florence, AZ. He writes, “I was driving north on the historic main street of old Florence AZ yesterday (about a 6 block drive) when on the left I saw these 4 old Willys jeeps… ALL FOR SALE! “I am listing my 1946 Willys CJ2A for sale. This is a daily driver and not a show piece. The transmission and transfer case were just rebuilt. All of the brake components have been replaced over the past few years. The Jeep has been upgraded to 12 volts with a GM alternator. The seat bottoms have been replaced. I have a black soft top, eight of the older narrow wheels, and a few transmissions and transfer cases that will be included with sale. Willys needs the following work to be road worthy;
New or rebuilt carb. This one has sat with gas in it.
New starter. The one that it has is missing a couple of teeth on the gear.
Windshield glass. I have the gaskets, just not the flat glass.
The wood blocks that go on the hood so that you can lower the windshield.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500

“1948 Willys CJ2 split windshield Jeep from Montana. Very clean original steel body. The diamond plate on the corners of the tub I believe was put there for strength to mount the tire bracket swing arm, as it is very heavy. There appears not to be any rust on the back side of the tub that the plates are mounted to. Original tailgate that folds down, flat fenders, hood and floor pan.Two very small holes in corners of both front floor pans. Windshield glass and frame good. The body on this CJ2 is VERY CLEAN almost rust free. Has a very reliable V6 Buick motor, that fits nicely and starts and runs great. Has headers and new dual exhaust. Can be driven anywhere. There is no top. Would make a great world war 11 reenactment military Army jeep. Comes with a front winch, roll bar, jack, tow bar, spare tire carrier and a spare tire. Clean original 1948 Ohio title in my name. “
