The front fenders are fiberglass, but looks solid.
“1947 CJ2A Willys Jeep
ORIGINAL tub, drivetrain, frame.
Has fiberglass front fenders, and has some bondo in tub, taillights and running lights are not correct. No Data Plates (frame or firewall).
This Willys has the optional Running Boards/Steps and the PTO with Rear bumper hitch platform.
Also comes with newer Besttop Top and Doors. New Battery and cables, New Oil lines to filter, Fresh Oil Change. Also comes with a bumper tow hitch for bringing along to parades or car shows (drawbar).
This is a rivet – bumper CJ, built 1947-50 following WW2. It is a pretty original survivor. Not a show truck, but it stops, runs & drives well and can easily be fully restored or just maintained as is for another 66 years! Currently registered and driven regularly. Inspection welcome from serious parties, but no tire kickers! Not giving it away, call for info.”

This looks good for the price. The tranny might need rebuilding.
“1948 Wills Jeep CJ-2A Commercial version. Sympathetic restoration, using as many original parts as possible, including both front fenders, hood, tailgate, chairs, instrumentation and wheels. Rust free floor. The good . . . great looking unit, painted in the factory original color of prairie green w/ powder coated 16″ yellow wheels mounted with Cooper military tires. Six volt electrical system retained. Rebuilt engine (300 miles). Rebuilt front axle. Fresh carb, water pump, generator, and starter. The bad . . . tranny makes noise. The Jeep is driveable, but this might be an area for the new owner to remember. The ugly . . . there is no ugly, it’s a Jeep! $5,500.00. Local delivery available.”

“For sale is a ’48 flatfender CJ.
The paint isn’t in good condition, heavily oxidized/ flaking. The tub is free, minus some surface rust where the paint flaked.
The motor is an original 2.2L (134 cubic in) flathead 4. Runs great, starts right up. Drives well, too.
Has the original Arizona issued serial number (#154,xxx). Paint was originally Michigan Yellow.
Seats are marine vinyl and are in good condition.
All gauges are new/ functioning. 12V electrical system.”

(10/08/2012) The drain holes have been filled. The windshield leans back a bit too far. The jeep’s front bumper looks built for heavy duty.

In the last few years the motor has been cleaned up, it has been repainted, the seats recovered, new tires, a new clutch, and it runs pretty good for the year. “Original survivor. 98% rust free. So California Jeep. Excellent candidate for restoration. 95% of original parts still intact. 6 volts. This Jeep still runs and drives. Used as a parade Jeep for last 10 years. Clean California Title Nellybelle #3 or urban Myth? When I purchased this Jeep, the owner said it was bought from the movie studios in 1975. There were supposed to be 3 Nellybelle’s: A close up Jeep; a Stunt Jeep and a Long Distance Jeep. This was said to be the Long Distance Jeep. I have never been able to verify this. There is an engine noise that seems to be coming from harmonic balancer pulley area (not internal engine). Dualamatic overdrive has bad gear noise. Small channel on passenger side rusted out. 15” wheels.”

(06/28/2013) This looks pretty straight. It’s not entirely stock.
“Current registration and insurance, clear title in hand.
Body- Dented, rusty, some minor repairs done by prior owner. It is very useable as is, actually better than most project jeeps I looked at before buying this one, but needs work to be perfect. Some of the hat channels underneath are rusted and need repaired. This is actually very solid, just want you to know what to expect.
Frame- Solid, no major issues or rust that I have found.
Engine- GPW (ford) 4cyl engine. (this is the military version of the stock motor= not the factory original engine). The GPW is a nice addition depending on your plans, as it it worth more than the stock motor as many people restoring military jeeps would like to have the original style motor. Engine runs good overall, but the exhaust needs to be removed and the heat exchanger flap freed up. This is the flap that re-circulated exhaust air around the intake when the engine is cold to make it run better. It is common for these to seize up and cause the exhaust air to always heat the intake. This causes the gas to get hot in the carb and flood the engine. I had this freed up last year, but it sat over winter and is stuck again. Radiator was rebuilt last year, like new.
