Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 CJ2A Willys complete frame off restoration. Motor,transmission,transfer,axles ,brakes and brake lines completely rebuilt. Upgrades are 12 volt system,electronic ignition,saginaw steering,dual master brake and scout brake drums. All gauges ,upholstery,radiator,electronics and wiring are new. It has overdrive and rear PTO and original heater all newly rebuilt. There is no part of this jeep that has not been restored. The frame and body has 2 coats of epoxy primer has been seam sealed and painted. There is also a new soft top and doors that has been fitted to the Jeep and all holes drilled before painting. The top is new in the box.”

“1946 cj2a, with Warn overdrive. Winch (needs tlc) and tow hitch In front. Has minor rust and the passenger floor pad has a hole. It runs and drives great. good tires, spare mounted in rear. Good title, tagged historic. Sold with no top. 4500, firm.. Good for restoration or daily driver, just not in the rain. Serious Buyers Only!

“Barn find… had been sitting for 30 years so there is some rust on the body. Engine is clean, runs smooth. New (rebuilt) transmissson /XFR case, carb, radiator, master cylinder, other stuff I had to do to make it run and drive. (You also get the original parts like the fuel pump that I replaced with an electric one and the heater). Located in Central Utah, buyer to pick up or make shipping arrangements. For the right price I might deliver it anywhere in the continental US.”

“1946 Willys Jeep 4 wheel drive with lockout front hubs, all steel body, new tires on 15″ aluminum spoke mag wheels, new steering rods and tie rod ends, new brake master cylinder and rebuilt wheel cylinders, new windshield. 350 cubic inch Chevy engine with 4 barrel carb. have had Jeep for 10+ years. Used at hunting camps and for running local errands. Some of the work done include: new fiberglass tub & fenders, converted to 12 volt, complete new wiring, rebuilt transmission & transfer case, new front & rear drive shafts, rebuilt front & rear ends, rebuilt radiator, new gas tank. Non-operative items: no wipers, no horn, parking brake. Currently licensed – dec 2014.”

“Alright attempt number one, looking to sell a 1948 Willy’s Jeep CJ3a. It is beautiful and is truly something that needs better care than I can give it at home. We are in need of some home repairs so it needs to go. If has the original engine and from what I am told will go anywhere but I never put it to the test…..to pretty lol. “Two 1947 willys jeep cj 2a(low hood) tubs both need some work a little rusty. One split window wind shield frame will need new glass. One full wind shield frame no glass. One hood not in the greatest shape. Two grilles both in decent shape. The frame, wheels, tires, engine, and tranny DO NOT go with. NO TITLE for the tubs. Can part out but 600 obo dollars takes all.

“For Sale red 1947 CJ2A Jeep. In good condition. It is not a show Jeep… its a survivor. Lots of original parts as well as some Bubba modifications. It can be driven as is. I have two parts jeeps that can be added to the mix for a price. Parts Jeeps are 1946 and in very rough shape… not complete! Will add pictures tomorrow… wanted to get this up while I was thinking of it. Divorce is forcing me to get rid of a very dear toy… I will miss it.”

The rear facing back seat is unusual.
“1949 Willys Jeep CJ3A. 4X4. Powered by a Buick 225 V6. This jeep has had a frame off restoration. Rhino lined inside and underneath, and multiple coats of epoxy paint. All new exhaust, wiring, radiator, red top battery, ignition and seat cushions and covers. Aftermarket overdrive mated to the original transmission so it can do freeway speeds. Front brakes are 10 inch from a CJ7, so it will actually stop with like new rubber all the way around. Has forced air heater. Rear facing removable seat from a wrangler with seatbelts. Gas cans with mounting brackets. Have multiple manuals, receipts and many extra parts. This little jeep runs and drives great, but we just don’t drive it enough to keep it.”
