“1946 CJ 2a with a world war II Ford GPW body tub. Jeep was on a deer lease since the 1970’s in central texas. NO TITLE. I had it running and it moved under it’s own power but it doesn’t run very well. Needs complete restoration or use as parts. Rusty floor boards. Tires are shot but will hold air and can load on your trailer. Good for parts or if you are so inclined could be restored. Frame is in good shape, body is restorable. Comes with four 16″ wheels and tires. also, it only comes with the drivers seat. Email with questions.”

Here’s a VEC #12110 that’s been militarized and ‘stickized’.

“This is a complete frame-off “down to bare metal” restoration of a VEC CJ2A Willys Jeep, S/N 12110.  A jeep restored like this by a shop would cost well over $40,000 counting all the hours of “love” that went into the project. We took great care to ensure this jeep (which was manufactured on the same line as the last military jeeps) maintained as many original components as possible.  Restoration began in December 2009 and we just completed it in August of 2010.  You can see by the Buy It Now price that my reserve is between the starting price and the BuyItNow.

The original content of this jeep is about 95%.  The jeep has the original (although converted to stick) column shift transmission.  Everything on this jeep is completely restored or rebuilt.  Please see pictures. We have many more pictures of the project from start to end.  We have all receipts and documents and research and will provide a detailed book of the restoration process, all receipts and history of this particular jeep.  The numbers on the hood are referenced from the Military database for this VIN number.  Note that prior to our purchase of this restoration project, this jeep had the Leaf Springs replaced and also the Shackles were changed to a modern version by the prior owner. ….”

“1946 Willys Overland. Has nice mb Steering wheel Some rust on underside appears to be untouched for the most part. It does have original drive train. Has new parking brake and cable. This is an ameature restored vehicle. Made from 3 jeeps none of them came with a title, so this vehicle does not have a title. You can have one made for this jeep. Check with your local DMV for more information. This jeep is about 95% complete with slight modifications like gauge panel folds down for easy access to fuses and under dash. The heater and driver seat are not original. Engine has been rebuilt. Tank heater w/ thermostat. Front windshield is fully operational like new. Passenger side window is cracked but both pieces of glass are original. Turn signal lenses are glass not plastic. Has Brass screws in transmission and master cylinder cover so they dont rust solid, and allows for easy removal when servicing.”

“I have a 1947 Willys jeep for sale. It is sitting on a Scout frame and running gear with warn hubs. The motor is a 302, the tranny is out of a Fairlane and it has the Scout transfer case. The body is a complete 6 piece (tub, fenders, grill, hood and tailgate) fiberglass kit painted hugger orange. The windshield frame is the factory metal frame. The wheels are steel spoke with 33″ swampers. I have most of the smaller parts in boxes. It comes with 3 race seats and covers. This jeep is a project and needs finished. All the expensive parts are there, just needs a few little parts and it will be an awesome jeep. I also have a clear title for it. I have too many projects and this one needs to go.I am asking $2700 OBO or I am open to trades. ”

(01/14/2011) This runs well, but the body is rough according to the seller. This also has a pop up of some kind on the hood.

“1949 Jeep CJ2A running gear is all original and recently rebuild all bearings and brakes. Drives good, especially for an old Jeep. This probably isn’t a good candidate for a body restoration, but it is one heck of a fun mountain rig. Comes with vintage arctic package hard top and doors with sliding windows. Also comes with tow bar and towing lights, it tows easy and has hubs in the front. Manual 4 speed, PTO take-off. This had been converted to 12v and has an electronic ignition so you don’t have to mess with points. The only gauge that doesn’t work is the fuel gauge and it needs new brake lights.

(12/24/2010) Parade condition … hmmmm … it does looks solid though.  Sounds like it needs some additional work.

“I am parting with my 60+ year old Jeep. This is a very rare vehicle due to the amount of original parts including the Vacuum Wiper Motor! The Jeep is sound with the exception of a hole in the passenger side floorboard and some repairs performed years ago by previous owners.

The paint job IS NOT original. It was painted by the previous owner. This vehicle can be driven daily and has been very reliable driving to and from shows and events. I would say that it is ‘Parade condition’ it looks great from the sidewalk!

Repairs in the last three years:

Wheel cylinders and brake shoes
A new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and pilot bushing.
Parking brake repaired
Fuel pump (glass bowl filter style)
(5) Original ‘riveted’ rims installed Non-directional tires & inner-tubes
Stored Indoors
Finding a Jeep of this vintage that still has the original running gear and has not been butchered is very difficult.

This Jeep does need work to be brought up to show quality and the price reflects that.
However, if you are looking for an antique that can be driven and enjoyed in its original condition – you have found it.”

“For sale is a 1951 Willy’s Jeep CJ3. It has a Buick 231 V6 conversion with the master cylinder mounted on the firewall. It has the earlier wind shield, new brake shoes, new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, new fuel pump, new alt, new water pump, new fuel tank, new radiator core, new steering wheel. “This is a 1947 CJ2A, the first civilian jeep built. This jeep is pretty much complete and does run and drive. (smokes a little, especially when first started) It has the stock 134 flathead engine with 3 speed manual transmission, and 4 wheel drive. The body tub is decent and so is the frame. It would be a great jeep to restore! It has a new battery and I replaced the wheel cylinders and shoes, so the brakes work as well. Not pictured, but I have a complete set of seats with decent covers. I also have a hardtop that fits it for sale seperate. Call me for more information. Nathan 402-813-5312. “I have two Jeep CJ2A’s (?) that need to go to a good home. One is restorable and the other one is for parts. NEITHER OF THESE TWO JEEPS CURRENTLY RUN. Once again…..they DO NOT RUN. They need to be gone by the end of January or I will be forced to crush them for scrap. If you want them, please let me know. $800 cash for BOTH of them. I DO NOT have a title for EITHER one. Radiator and starter has been rebuilt for the green one so that I could pin point the engine noise in it which was a bad rod bearing. If you need more pictures, I will send them. When someone lists a jeep as ‘professionally restored’, it is only natural that I’ll examine it a little more closely.  It appears sound, but sports an early CJ-2A grille, doesn’t have the bow holders, and is missing, as best as I can tell, windshield wipers.  The custom looks nice.  The strangest issue, in my mind, is that there is white paint around the edges of the gauges (probably just taped off the gauges), which doesn’t look all that professional to me.

“1947 Willys Overland CJ-2A. Purchased from a family that had owned it for 27 years. This vehicle was barn fresh. As sold to me it still runs just needs new gas tank and possible some starter work. Was driven around farm  occasionally up until a few years ago. Was orginally owned by a Jeep Dealer in Colorado and still has advertising lettering very visible on body. All tires are good and hold air and also have a new spare with tube. Jeep is all original except previous owner put some new springs under it with shocks a few years back.”
