Here’s a restored CJ-2A.
“I hate, hate, hate that I have to sell this Jeep. I purchased this CJ2A several years ago and have 293 recorded man hours into the restoration. I have a full photo album of pictures from the very early stages through completion. However, only recent ones are available online. I have taken a few pictures of the pictures with my camera phone. Too much detail to go into regarding the restoration, but I do have a printout of everything that went into it. It runs well and is started weekly to keep everything in working order. T-90 Transmission and Transfer Case Model 18. Engine: #J45856. This restoration is one of the nicest that I’ve ever seen. This jeep is a great collectible and a piece of American history. Please feel free to ask questions, I’ll do my best to answer…. Make an offer! Can and would love to ship.”
UPDATE: SOLD .. Was listed at $500.
Given the parts, this seems like a good price. I’d think this would have the Dana 30 & Centered Dana 44 as well. I think I’ve seen this for sale previously.
“1948 Willys CJ2A with 74 CJ5 frame and 84 Buick 231 V6. Needs work, but will crank/start. Will need to be trailered. Good project vehicle.”

This looks like a great price.
“1948 Jeep Willys in excellent condition. Well cared for and garage kept. Absolutely no rust and the Jeep runs great. It’s a four wheel drive, 4 cylinder engine, 2 speed with canvas top. Great jeep for the cabin, hunting or just running around town with the kids and dog. I purchased it from the original owner and just don’t have room or time for more toys. Please call or email with question.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
“1948 willys jeep CJ2A , great project. I have some new parts and a donor vehicle (64 cj6) available as well.”
This looks like it was a racer. Now it’s a parts jeep.
“Selling a Willys jeep that I was going to use for a project but have bought something else so it needs to find a new home. NO MOTOR OR TRANNY! NO TITLE! It is 2wd right now but have a set of CJ axles I would sell also if someone was interested. Body is in decent condition and would make some good parts for another jeep or make a crawler out of it. Old engine was a small block chevy. I don’t want to scrap it out since there aren’t to many of these still around so let me know if you are interested. Call 573-673-4776 after 5pm or send me a email.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
This appears to be a reasonable price given the completeness of the jeep.
“I am selling my 1948 CJ2A project. I intended to do a complete frame off restoration but it will be way to long until I can get to the rebuild and I have one too many Jeeps now. The Jeep appears to be completely original with a few exceptions. It has had a V6 swapped in what appears to me as a Buick 225 but I have not verified this. Original T90 tranny, Dana 18 t case, front Dana 27 and rear 44 are intact and serviceable (I spot only the expected leaks to be fixed). An aftermarket roll bar has been installed and what looks to be a 3″ suspension lift. All body pieces have the original Willys marks and the original serial number and instruction plates are present. The body is pretty rough however. It is badly rusted underneath and has some ‘bites’ of rust especially behind front fenders. I had planned to replace the whole tub after blasting a re-coating the frame. The frame has surface rust all the way around but I have not spotted any integrity issues (no corrosion through major stress points for body or spring hangers, etc.). The previous owner told me it was running as of a few months ago (as evidenced by a new fuel pump, distributor and wires) but I have not fixed her up enough to turn her over. BE AWARE: THE JEEP WILL NOT DRIVE OUT!! Buyer must be prepared with a trailer and way to winch the Jeep onto it.
Price is $1500.00 FIRM. NO trade and serious inquiries only. The Jeep is located 30 mins. away from me in another garage of mine and I must have notification well ahead of time to come take a look. Understandhttp://www.ewillys.com/wp-admin/post-new.php that this is a full rebuild project. ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3950
It’s hard to tell much from the photo.
‘Mechanical condition ( very good ), four wheel drive, bucket seats, turning signals, trailor hitch, folding windshield, outside mirro on driver side, USMC decals on each side, 4×4 transfer case; two speed and is in parade condition Jeep. The Jeep was appraised on (9-2-09) by Classic Car Appraisal. The certificate will be turned over at time of purchase with the Jeep. The engine had a partial overhaul in 2007 and was painted about that time also.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500

“WILLYS JEEP HAS 2.3 PINTO /MUSTANG BOLTED TO ORIGNAL DRIVE TRAIN RUNS DRIVES,NEEDS BRAKES SEATS,TANK $1000.00 ”
This appears to be a nice CJ-2A. It looks like it is missing the rear bow holder.
“1947 Willys Jeep painstakenly restored by owner/mechanic with 48 years of experiance. The 225 V-6 has only 2,000 miles since it was completely rebuilt. New tires and a new half top are included. The maroon paint and entire vehicle is in perfect parade condition. This is not a desperation sale and is offered well below its appraised $10,000 value only to free up some garage space. No trades or swaps considered. More photos avaiable upon request. A complete photo album of each phase of the restoration is available for viewing. E-mail at loonlane@myfairpoint.net or call 207-443-2934. Serious inquires only please.”
Lew dropped me a note today telling me about this jeep he’d like to sell.
Lew writes, “I have a CJ2A 1946 Willy that I would like to sell. It is in perfect condition and 100% original including original paint, tires etc… no rust, nor rot and basically has been in a time capsule. I acquired it when I purchased a farm a few years back and it was maintained in a barn. It has a PTO and PTO Governor (no driveshaft). It has original canvas but no framework. The asking price is US5k or best offer. My contact number is 845.590.0927 and email address is bylandseaorair63@yahoo.com.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
(12/31/09) I’m guessing this is most likely a CJ-3A.
“It runs and starts. Obviuosly needs to be restored. 4×4 works. Title and original VIN tag that states 1942.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500
This CJ looks very nice and appears very complete. I’m negotiating a special project and will snap this one up if everything works out soon.
“Willys 1946 CJ2A with Buick 231 V6, Dual Exhaust, Dana 44 Posi rear, Dana Posi front, Warn winch, dual batteries, power steering, power brakes, lifted about 4 inches, offset wheels, 32 inch tires, (will handle 33’s) Rear tire/can rack, Bikini Top and soft top with other extras included. THIS RIG RUNS GREAT!! $4,500.00 OBO”
This looks solid.
“This is a 1947 Willys CJ2A that looks and runs great. It has some minor rust around the windshield but has been a great summer run around car. People always stop and stare with envy. It has only been run in the summer since it only has a half rag top”
The seller claims this is WWII paint. You be the judge. That issue aside, it looks clean and solid.
“Original flathead 4 cyl. enigine, has been rebuilt, Has Hard to find rear PTO and engine mounted governor. Has new exhaust, shocks, new lights and lenses. Has New Army paint and flat clear coat and stencil painted numbers and stars. Seat foam has been replaced and new seat covers installed. Has been converted to 12 volt for charging and better starting but uses original gauges. This Willys starts and runs great, idles smooth and very quiet. Has clear SD title. Tires are ok, but mismatched and brakes pull a little.. 4WD works good and transfer case and transmission shift fine. May be able to deliver for a fee.”
It runs, drives and maybe even plows. I’m wondering if that is a DJ body given what appears to be a lack of a tailgate.
“Vintage ’48 Willys Jeep Replica on a CJ 5 Chassis. Runs. Call 847-638-4024”

It did work 2 and a half years ago but that was the last time I messed with it. It is not a military jeep. I have the title in my possession. $1000 or best offer.”

It’s hard to tell much from the pics, however it appears in decent condition. It’s a project.
