Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The price appears good, however the engine, though running, needs to be replaced for some reason. Also, I would check out the passenger side entrance as it looks either dented or bondoed (or both).

(03/10/2010) “This rare find — a completely handmade, completely stainless steel Jeep — was commissioned in the Philippines in 1981 and custom built by then-President Ferdinand Marcos. It was later purchased by a well-known national television news correspondent, who then had this one of a kind Jeep shipped back to Los Angeles. It has never been driven. With less than 10 miles on the odometer, this classic style “Eisenhower” Jeep is a vintage car collector’s dream. The exterior is like new; it’s been protected in a fully-covered, temperature-controlled garage since its trip to the United States. To our knowledge this is the only Jeep of its kind in the U.S. The brushed-exterior is in supreme condition. The engine is a rebuilt 1953 Willy’s V-8 that needs only minor service. Complete vehicle sold as is.”
You can’t beat the price. I’m sure there is $70 worth of value somewhere.

This looks like a good project, but is priced high given it doesn’t have an engine.
“Up For Auction-This is a 1951 Willy’s Jeep project car. There is NO motor, as it was recently removed. However it is set up for a small block chevy V-8 (283,305,350,etc.). This Jeep is 95 percent complete was driveable prior to the motor removal.”

“1951 Willy’s Jeep CJ3a. I bought this Jeep a few years back from the original owner. They had converted it to a V-8 back in 1971 or so. Chevrolet 283 out of a Chevelle. Runs and looks great. It has been in storage in my barn for 2 years now. I bought new rims and tires for it and haven’t driven it since I put them on. The top was new when I purchased it and it’s in great shape. It needs a good cleaning from being in storage. I do have the owners manual and prior service notes done by the previous owner. It does have power steering as well.”

(08/20/2010) Looks pretty stock. Something’s been added to the front near the grille, but I can’t tell why.

Check out the flattie on the bottom. Note how long the rear of the body is. I don’t see any indication that it was modded that way. Check out the old knobby tires in the back of it as well. Finally, what is sticking out from the passenger and driver’s side underneath the body of the CJ-2A?

This fiberglass body looks in very good shape.

I’ve lightened the pictures as best I can. This body looks like a CJ-2A/3a with a 3B windshield. The rims might be decent. The hood has clearly been modified. I can’t tell much else.

(11/16/2010) You know, this deserves a closer look. I think that front looks wide enough that it might be a Dana 30. The cage looks good as well. I’d let the price drop some, but there might be some value here.

“1952 willys flatfender, Chevy 4.3L engine, high performance computer, everything in picture included, plus a few extras, no axles no tires, This was a project that I never got around to finishing. It is set up for a three link suspension in the front and back, includes rear drive shaft, transfercase and manual transmission, engine runs good. No rust on body or frame. “Was my plow vehicle So It comes with the plow. New clutch, New rebuilt starter with bendix. Starter not installed. I was going to start a rebuild of the body, Dont have time moving soon. The engine runs great. Heres two pics. The 1/2 cab is original and has two doors with it. The hydrolics work with the plow.Questions just ask. Needs a brake job has new shoes but slave cylinders need honed and new cups.950.00 or best offer You wont drive this away,It needs gas tank cleaned out(Kids were puting something in it,The starter needs installed,It needs seats.This is more of a restore project.it does run and drive needs some work to get it road worthy but a restore is what I was or will do if not sold.
