“1955 Willys Overland cj5 RUNS AND DRIVES!!! TAKE IT ON THE BIG HUNT RIGHT AWAY! You could make this one nice project! Or… enjoy it as is! -Runs and drives! -Tow-Bar on front. -Bikini-top, Heavy-Duty Vinyl cover, -Gas Can. -Heater. -Spare tire with rim. -Lots of extra parts.
An all around fun vehicle to tool around in. Take it camping, take it hunting! Tail lights are already set up for easy connection so you can pull this behind you on the big deer hunt! You see a lot of Willys Jeeps sitting around in fields and back lots that don’t even run and people are asking crazy prices for them. Here, we have a running and driving piece of history! ”
Brett forwarded this. It looks solid, but you’d better like diamond plating!
“This jeep has been completely re-done a few years ago. We did a ton of body work, new paint, new roll bar, re-covered front seats, and completely re-built motor. We put hours and hours into this thing…And we loved it.
It has been used as a hunting jeep and probably gets less than 100 miles on it per year. We have kept all the maintenance current and have no complaints. The motor is a Buick 225 6 Cyl. Four wheel Drive. 3 speed manual. There is 81,292 miles on it but since the motor was re-build in 2005 we have put less than 500 miles on it.
Being so old, there are a few kinks. There is a slight oil leak that we can’t trace. It isn’t bad so we just ignore it. The brakes need to be done but worked well enough for inspection last year. It also has a few scratches in the paint, as it was used for off-road. The tires are in good condition and there is no spare. We do have an extra rim, but there is no tire to go with it. We have soft doors that we will include but they are not assembled. The speedometer doesn’t work.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500
(02/09/2010) It looks solid and unmolested.

(01/03/2010) This is an interesting build as it sports a jeepster front clip. I can’t remember seeing this done. I think it works pretty well. I’d check out the frame closely, as the seller had a problem with it during an outing.
“This is my prize 1963 CJ5 rock crawler that due to the lack of interest and the need of money for property taxes, I must let go. I easily have $15000 invested in this and the only thing left on it that’s 1963 is the rear axle housing.

This Jeep has been on most of the trails at Moab, Rubicon, Fordyce, Barrett Lake, and Browns Camp to name a few. This Jeep has been a constant work in progress for me for the last 25 years or so, but time to move on. Really need to get $5000 out of this, but cash talks so make me an offer. Would consider trades for nice FSJ, Hot Rod, Rat Rod, Drag race parts, Dually, AMC’s, Car Trailer, or anything else you have I might find of interest. I work odd hours but I’m available from 9 in the evening till about 9 in the morning at 503-784-1622 during the week and all weekend. Leave a message or email and I’ll get back to you. My email address is thigh19@comcast.net and check out more pictures at http://thigh190.tripod.com/id13.html Keep in mind that this is an almost completed project. Will loan out a tow bar if needed.”
Here’s a fun looking, old school build that Bob spotted. It looks like it has a CJ-5/CJ-3b cage in it — the bend in the front is in the wrong spot. But, who cares; it has flames!
‘1966 willys jeep with a 1941 body. body off restore, 350 chevy v8 with avenger holley carb, munci 465 trani, dana 300 transfer case, dana 44 rear with locker, dana 30 front with disc brakes, 33″ thornbirds (like new condition), runs like a champ only thing it needs is the brakes to be pressure bled. $5,600 call Mike at (440) 225-2421″

Both are f134 hurricanes with about 120K on each. There is enough here to make one jeep if you know how to weld. Have bill of sale only.”
UPDATE: Well, I have to express a big mea culpa on this one. Ed has pointed out that this has a later model body, which could mean the miles are off as well. See Ed’s comment for more info. Thanks Ed!
“52K Miles, 3 speed Manual 4 cylinder 4 wheel drive, Great shape!! 3875 Firm.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
This appears to be an excellent price on a running CJ-5 with an OD, a full rollcage and a winch (though the winch is having an electrical issue).
“1960 (Orig Year) CJ5 Willys Jeep that has been customized for Off-Road Use. Added are Rebuilt Ford 289 Small Blk (V8) engine (approx 5,000 miles on rebuilt) with a T-90 3spd Full-Overdrive Transmission (3 stick adjustment, like the old Tractor Trailers — has overdrive to every gear, including reverse, so 6 forward gears). This vehicle is low geared enough to climb a hillside that the BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires (only 10k miles used), and you can walk it up from the outside. Painted 3 years ago and although not perfect, good enuf for off-road, with twin 7-gal fuel tanks. Added Bucket seats with heavy-duty Seat covers (seats are a little torn), Buick Tilt & Power Steering, New WIndshield and Wipers. Offroad lights and 10k lb Warn Winch. It would be a great project vehicle, as there is always little things to tinker with, but the only two issues to mention: 1> the big bucket seats and old military jeep frame don’t allow real big men too much comfort, so a larger person might want to switch out the seats; and 2> the warn winch is having electrical problems and I had the armiture looked at, but they told me it is part of the electrical relay or component in the winch, so I have not fixed that. I am motivated to sell, and I know the value of this in excellent collectors shape would bring $5k, but I am willing to go half ($2500) or a near best offer.”
This has got a classic old top that goes with it.
“1960 cj5 jeep rebuilt motor lots of new parts have a hard top too.. trade for enclosed trailer 12 ft or longer or a ford model a or other mopars car or dodge trucks…918 655 6877 joe cash or trade only no spammers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
There appears to be plenty of parts, but I can’t tell if they are all there. Note this does have stock reversed front springs.
“Picked this Willys up in Vegas last year. It has clear Nv title as a 1959, after some research it turns out to be a 1955, easy fix. Went to Willys Overland web site with vin and figured it out. I believe everything is here. I have a small shed with loads of parts that go with the CJ, carb, dist, seats, 2 windshield frames 1 with glass, gauges, 2 stearing columns, soft top, soft doors, grill with lights & turn signals, floor panels, skid plate, trailer hitch, bolts & screws and CJ builders book. It has a 350 GM crate motor mounted, with trany, transfer case, missing front drive shaft. Drive shaft should be aval. from Border parts in Spring Valley. Motor I was told has 15,000 miles on it, I have not had it running, turns by hand”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800
“Up for sale is my ’62 CJ-5, affectionately know as the JEEPAPILLAR!!!! It has a 8000lb Ramsey winch on the front A lifting boom and tow bar”
This sounds like a good price on a CJ with new tires and brakes. There’s a couple things that puzzle me. The reversed springs in the front and the M-38a1 dash would suggest, well, a M-38a1; However, the serial number suggests a CJ-5.
“64 CJ Willys jeep. Runs and drives great, New brakes and tires this winter. Not much has been done with this jeep as I have no time. Job transfer is forcing the sale, We dive this jeep about three times a month and almost everytime it snows in the winter..”
