“A very Rare find 1963 Willys CJ5 Open Body Jeep 4×4, not the mythical “Barn Jeep” but a “Shed Jeep” that is in great unrestored stock shape! Stored in a shed by & older man for years, he had it painted primer gray to repaint back to the factory Spruce Tip Green color but never got to that point. You can finish what he started or paint it what color you like. What u see is what u get, I didn’t even wash it for pics. Like it came from Willys, factory split 60/40 Green seats to the factory heater its all stock except for the primer paint. Odometer reads just 30k miles which the p.o. said is the true mileage. Based on what i can tell the Jeep has never been abused, cut or bondo’d, so I believe that statement could be true! This CJ5 is regestered with Arkansas antique plates. P.O. A few more tasty morsels to chew on: It has new brakes on three wheels, the fourth drum didn’t want to slid off as easy and my buddy doing the brakes apparently wasn’t in the fightin’ mood to persuade it, hence why there is an extra set of pads sitting in the back. Maybe you will have more motivation. And some WD40. And a hammer.

Yes, it runs. It needs a new carb though, they are about $130. I wake up every morning with the best intentions to order one, then I look out the window, see a squirrel, and the thought is lost until the next morning. It has happened more than you know and I honestly don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Long story short, you’ll want to buy a new carb! Now for some Q & A time!!

Q: Can I test drive it?
A: Nope, unless you fork over the cash. In that case you’re free to do whatever your little heart desires. I don’t have registration on it and don’t plan on putting any on it. I will fire it up so you can hear the rumble of all those ponies though.

Q: Do you have a top for it?
A: No. Tops are for wimps. It has a rollcage, that’s plenty.

Q: Would it make a good daily driver?
A: In my opinion… Heck no! If you want a daily driver buy a Civic. This is late 40’s technology that somehow made it into the 60’s. If you are looking at buying a manly vehicle such as this I feel this shouldn’t need to be explained this to you.

Q: Do I have to have a beard to own it?
A: No, but highly recommended.

Q: Why are you selling it?
A: I was drinking, bought it from my best friend, now it is taking up precious real estate in the garage. I want it gone. I have no desire to drive it as I’m a big feller, which does not mix well with Jeeps.

Well that ought to get you started, it needs a little tinkering but it is one heck of a solid Jeep! Now lets talk about the price… I’m motivated. Want it gone. Like yesterday. As previously mentioned I’m asking $1,966.00 but feel free to throw out a number. I won’t get offended, I’ll just tell you no if I don’t like it. Pretty simple really. “Very Rare Find!  Up for sale is a complete, working Monroe Hydraulic System that was manufactured as an aftermarket item for Willys Jeeps in the 1950’s era.  These hydraulic systems were made for Willys Jeep Models CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B and CJ-5.

What makes this more interesting is that the unit comes with the original Maintenance and Mechanic’s Manual and the original purchase receipt from 1958, which totaled over $900.

As you can see int he pictures, this items has been outside and used for over 50 years, so there is surface rust covering most of the unit.

Although not pictured, there is also a counterweight for this unit that sits nicely in the front bumper area that comes with the unit.  Also, the scoop appears to be manufactured by Ford.  The “Ford” plate is attached to the scoop as seen in the pictures.

I am located in the San Francisco Bay Area and do not have the time to box the unit.  Ideally, the unit would be picked up in the SF Bay Area.  If not, I may be able to get the unit to a shipper for boxing and transport but only after discussing with the buyer.”

“I am selling a 1974 4×4 Jeep with a Willys body kit, part#673859 M38 with the receipt, low mileage on built up inline six that is very powerful. Low mileage on Southbend Clutch, radiator, greasable leaf spring hangers, drive train, electric cooling fan, ect. New Carter carburetor, new starter, new built up newer style alternator, new solenoid, ect. It has a Dana 44 rear end. It comes with a bikini top only. It has 36×14.50r15 Mickey Thompson tires with at least 85% tread left on aluminum wheels. The interior is all Rhino lined. It has sealed tail lights as well as front blinkers. It has a full gauge set that all work. It is black with a partial camouflage wrap that is removable. I just fully serviced and greased it. The body kits are going for 2,200-3,800 dollars alone, the tires would be another 2,500. This is a great deal and a really fun lightweight toy or streetable Jeep.”
