Dan spotted this interesting item. If you’ve got an engine and tranny, this might make a good project. There were less than 3000 of these made in 1974.

Meyers steel hard top and full steel doors. Hi back front bucket seats, front and rear heaters. Late model windshield frame with 2 speed wipers (from 1969-1975). The body is very clean, with no rust except the front floor pans (both have steel plate that need welded in). There Is No Title, just a very old Bill of Sale. $3500.00”
One of our readers must sell his CJ-6, another victim of the economy. While it doesn’t run yet, it looks much better than when he bought it. Good luck Andy (and I’m happy to see there’s some good bidding on this already)!
“Koenig Hardtop and hard doors.Koenig PTO winch. Bendix brake booster.Front tow-hitch. Heater. Lights work on high and low beam, horns work. Complete original Fhead Willys 134 engine. Solid drivers side floor board, hood, windsheild frame, drivers side fender, rear floorpan etc.. Has rust through on the passenger side which could be fixed with new floopan and rockerpanel but that is the worst of the rust. Also has some small very spot-weldable rust holes down both sides of the hardtop about an inch above the tub. Test lite gives good voltage at battery and coil. One of only 1991 made in ’61. This is not running at the moment. The seller did have two of these, but must have sold one.
“1963 Willys Jeep CJ-6 for sale, $1700 OBO. This jeep was running last year, but no longer has the engine. It still has the radiator, T90 transmission, Spicer 18 transfer case, Dana 25/Dana 44 axles, with a lock-rite locker in the front axle. Colorado title. Rust in typical places (driver’s side floor, hood, rear corners, tailgate). Additional pictures available on request.
If wanted, I can include an early CJ5 tub with the CJ6 purchase (no extra charge). This would be for donor pieces. The firewall and some hat channels have been removed from this donor tub. Pictures available on request.
What is a Jeep Willys CJ-6? Well, they are a pretty rare Jeep. About 50,000 CJ6s were made total. Some people like to make these into trail rigs because of the ability to move the axles closer to the ends. They are exactly like a CJ-5, but are 20″ longer in the middle. That is pretty much the only difference.”
The body is supposed to be solid.
“havnt researched it at all but guessing its a mid 50s willys not rusted. has tail gate and bed side extensions to lengthen height of bed sides and protect bed rails. has hard to find half cab. jeep does run but has lost title. has original 4 cyl engine. 1000 obo. also have full hard top and matching full hard doors for extra cost. will separate. call 509-429-5595 or 509-322-1128.”

For sale, the SS Dutch. Finding this jeep and trailer for sale was a real treat. First of all, Mike has created a well documented build of both the trailer and the jeep. Second, the changes and thought processes have been documented on two separate blogs (see post below), so there’s plenty to review. Third, he’s got the best site I have run across related to CJ-6s.
Mike writes on a recent post, “It’s not without a bit of sadness and trepidation that I post this. After 6 years of ownership and a whole lot of blood, sweat and gears I’ve arrived at the decision to put both SSDutch—a 1964 CJ6—and my 1950 Bantam Jeep trailer up for sale.
Mostly this is due to our recent decision to go on the road for a year but I’ve also noticed that I’ve had a lack of interest in working on it for some time now. In preparing for our trip the idea of just having the Jeep, trailer, and related piles of parts gone is more peace-inducing than the notion of having to arrange storage for all of it.”
(11/25/09) This is still a project, however it runs, but doesn’t drive yet. Only one pic, but it sounds like work has been done since the pic was taken. Check out the Ad for a full list of new parts.
“For sale is my 1961 Willy’s CJ-6. It has a longer wheel base then the CJ-5(110” vs. 97” wheel base). It is an unfinished project that will make a great jeep someday. The engine is running and the jeep rolls but the drive shafts and steering are not hooked up. I have put a lot of time into this but have no more time these days with school to finish it. It has many new parts but is mostly original. Lots of rust on the body. All body parts are there. Most parts that are missing can most likely be found in a junk yard. If you were going to fix the rust, it would be easy sheet metal work. I will try to list everything, but email me if you have questions. The only picture I have is from when I was working on it last, email for more pics …”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
For some odd reason, it appears a bear mistook the top jeep for a salmon and bit a huge chunk out of the passenger side of the jeep?!? The seller of this operates a jeep salvage yard in Kingston, NY. The bottom jeep looks in decent, stock shape.
“Asking$2500.00 for the pair”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.

There’s been some upgrades on this CJ-6, including a V-8 and an SM-420 Tranny. Not much in the way of a description.
“RARE 1961 Jeep Willy CJ6 with Trailer”
It’s a project & it RUNS!
“1962 Willys Jeep CJ6 Runs. Decent tires. Do not know the actual mileage and on the title the odometer section is left blank. Obviously needs some work. This is not at my home so I would have to travel to view the jeep. Instead I have tried to take many pictures and hope that gives the information that you need. However, if it doesn’t please contact me and I will try to answer your questions. I do have clear title. If you or a mechanic would like to look at it please let me know so we can make that arrangement.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500
This looks in great shape and includes a Warn OD and a winch. The top looks excellent. I’d say this is a good price, except for that bad piston.
“Stock Running Gear, F Head 134 ci, T 90, T 18 transfercase with Warn OD. Have Bad piston in the jeep. Have new moter, if I install price goes up. Newer Best top, good seats. New Wipers. Great hunting Jeep. 101″ wheel base so rides nice and lots of room inside. I would keep but have too many jeeps and Wife says sell one. These jeeps are pretty rare the Forest Service only bought these a couple years, notice flat top fender wells on back. Would be a real nice restoration project, or just drive it and enjoy.”
