Listed as a 1944, it looks more like an M-38.

“1944 Willis Jeep complete, for parts, or could be restored. Motor was running fine, transmission started having issues and I parked it several years ago.”
Looks in good shape. Includes a Warn OD.

“1952 M38, introduced by Willys in 1950, a post-WWII Jeep based on the civilian CJ-3A. This jeep is unrestored and completely original. It has its original body which is solid with no dents. It has the original 24 volt electrical system, 4 cylinder (4-134 L head) engine, 3 speed trans with a Warn aftermarket overdrive, (not original equipment, but helps the jeep go faster), and 4×4 high-low transfer case. It has it’s original olive drab paint. There’s only 27960 miles on the odometer.

“Call or text for more information. No rust. Older restoration. Runs and drives good. Clear Virginia title. May be interested in 7000 cash and nice trade such as muscle car or sports car or a nice side by side utility vehicle.”
I wonder if the green on the driver’s side is just a reflection. This might show better in person.

“Originally restored in the “90’s by a Korean War Veteran. I’ve been driving, repairing and updating since “05. Runs drives stops 4×4 works newer wiring harness. Missouri titles for both.”
Both are rough.

“I have a 1957 and a 1942 cj2a willys Jeep for sale. Both were running when parked. The 42 has a bent frame that can be fixed or swap the whole thing to another frame. All the body is still solid and fairly straight. The 57 has been sitting up longer. The brakes are locked up and it’s in a little rougher shape. Both have been parked under a tree collecting leaves.”
Engine will need a new head gasket. The sale Includes a hardtop.

“Willy’s m38 all original. Converted to 12v. Blown head gasket. Have a hard top with doors also”
The seller describes this as a 45 rolling chassis and also as a 1952 CJ-2A. However, the fact that the front frame rails are boxed and the fact that the image of the original rusty frame had hinges suggests that the frame is an M-38 frame.

“I have rolling chassis 45 willys cj2a I have new transmission cross member rear bumper and steering ball joints”
Has some updates. Looks solid.

“This is a custom built and fully restored 1951 Jeep Willys.
Rebuilt L134 Engine with only 300 miles
T98 4 speed transmission
T18 Transfer case
538 Gears
12 Volt
8000 lb winch
Jeep runs and drives great! It is located in Vestavia.”
Listed as a 1951, this jeep has a replacement tub. It does not appear to have an M-38 frame; rather, maybe a CJ-3A frame with the PTO bar removed? This seems to be a mix of parts.
https://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/d/creston-1951-willys-jeep/6988525248.html
“Jeep has no rust. Is a Navy-issued jeep with plaques. Has granny gear. Needs battery and two new front seats. Call for milage and full VIN number (too long more than 17 characters). Jeep has original toolbox with tools, gas can on rear and full canvas top.”
UPDATE: This jeep was auctioned at some point on Mecum
Looks like a great price, maybe too good of a price. Something doesn’t seem right about this ad. Who advertises a mint M-38 by describing it with a “front tow package”? And, I’m not seeing an obvious tow package. This might be a scam ….

“Running 1950 Willy Jeep with front tow package. Great condition.”
Based on the description, I’m guessing the seller knows very little about jeeps. No pics provided.

“This Korean War Era Jeep is in excellent restored condition. One piece windshield. Flat front.
Extensive restoration on the drive-train: seals, bearings, front and rear differentials, transmission, transfer case, brakes and military PTO are all in 1st class condition. Engine runs well. Starter rebuilt.
New canvas top and plastic side windows. New authentic seat covers. No rust on frame or body.
Tool kit. Army repair manual. Additional restoration parts.
The late owner was unable to complete the restoration. However the work is 95%+ complete, and with a few weekends work and the correct unit stencils this classic Jeep is ready to join the 4077th or unit of your choice.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(07/18/2019) One pic shows this M-38 apart. The rest show it together and running. I’m not sure what the current state of the jeep is.

Obviously the price is high for the market, but apart from that, there’s some nice work on this build. Looks like it has both a standard fan and an electric fan. Probably a great road and trail jeep given the 4.10s and the T-18 low range.
