Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “We are selling an un-restored 1945 Willys MB. It has been stored indoors for the past 8 years and is definately in great condition overall. Jeep is a late World War II production with a mixture of Ford and Willys parts. Jeep is complete without any cutouts or modifications to frame or body. Body is structurally sound and solid. (Found Small Cutout near Fuel Filter-see Photos) Usual but minor rust/rot along gas tank tub of body running from front mud guard to rear wheel well. Also Hat Channel Rot. Basic cut and patch. Bumper gussets are original and intact with minor welds from having attached bar stock for a tow bar. See detailed pix Dash is complete and uncut. Only a civilian on/off key and Lighter have been added. Glove box door with original plate included. All 3 seats are original and included including 3 cushions. Rear cushon is zippered and contains the orignal canvas mud doors. Windshield is not original but a good repro. I removed the original glass and mounted to the new frame and is included T-84 tranny in excellent shape. Ford stamped Pintle hook was original to jeep

(06/14/2012) Well, this has an unusual history.
“This Jeep Willys Overland MB 1946 was purchased from an Italian Army Surplus Sale during the sixties, subsequently the car was restored for my late Mother by Carrozzeria Pavesi Rolls Royce and Bentley, Milano, Italy. The restoration was focused on making a glamorous car with all original parts, just the roof and side panels are a work of art…. The dashboard was fitted with a wood panel to increase the good look and the original plates where fitted to the glove compartment box door instead of the engine compartment. The car is fitted with a Webasto gas heather for cold climates. The car was stationed in St. Tropez, France for many years and then was sent to the Swiss Alps in St. Moritz where it stayed until I imported it into the US in 2003. It is a great car, all systems works very good, steering, brakes, engine, etc… it would make a great addition to a Summer/Winter Home, it is great on snow, beats any modern car…. The attention to details in this car is fabulous.”

(03/15/2012) Hard to say just how much value is here.
“I DO have a Kansas title to it!!
The running gear and engine seem to be in working order, the engine does turn over freely, and was last running about 10 years ago.
There is a “rebuild tag on the engine dated 12/12/44. The engine and transmission (T84) are both Ford and have the “F” on the bolts. The oil filter is also marked for ARMY use.
It has the two front seats, glove box on the passenger side( one information plate is missing), the fire extinguisher bracket is still intact, and the original foot pedals are there. ALSO, throwing in a ton of extra parts!!
The tub is rough (mainly floor pan rust), but easy to restore, the frame has previous damage the the front horns,
and has been sitting for 45 years. The fenders are in good condition, but them and the hood are homemade (good looking work though).
Things that are missing is the back seat, windshield frame, and rear drive shaft, and some gauges.

This has no title and needs work.
“elling this vehicle as parts. There is no title with this vehicle, I chose “salvage” because it was a required field. THE JEEP HAS NO TITLE. It was used for years off road as a plow and not registered or titled . Serial # 360409, 8/10/44. The engine is newer and from a civilian Jeep, the transmission and transfer case are original MB. The engine smokes and will need to be rebuilt if used. The engine ran long enough to determine that it will shift through the gears and not overheat. Steering is OK and the brakes are poor at best. Now for the good part: The body is almost rot free, floors, and tool box bottoms are solid. The body does have bondo and extra holes but overall an excellent candidate for restoration. The front frame horns have had a plow frame welded to them but are in amazing shape and can be brought back with carefull metal removal. 3 combat rims are included. Milage is listed as 99,999 but I have no idea of actual milage. Buyer is responsible for transportation, but we will assist with loading if needed.”
It sure looks like there are some parts worth saving. This was taken in The Republic of Djibouti, Africa, and posted on Flickr. After some searching, I discovered these are probably Hotchkiss (see m201 website).

“So i have a willys i bought as a project was going to fix up but i got a great deal on a restored one. so this is the tub, running gear, a bunch of extra parts, part to put in power steering, original transmission and transfer case, it came with a 350 just sitting in it thats said to be rebuilt and thats the way it will leave. i have some parts to put the original motor back in but those may or may not go with it. i have pictures just email me. i will check daily. feel free to negotiate, i have done a lot of work to it since i got it tho and if i have time i will continue. (08/16/2012) “Selling 1945 fully restored reproduction, military style, military tires and gages, parade quality Willys Jeep. Don’t have much for details as the restorer passed away. Need to sell. Runs and drives. Fully waterproofed as well, spark plugs etc. Make the drive and come check it out. There are also plenty of other old Jeep parts and a whole other Jeep lying around. All must go, all for sale. ”

(03/05/2011) “I have a 1944 Ford GPW that is titled as a 1944 ford willys jeep that i have had for some time now and it is a FRANKENSTEIN! It has a 2.5 Chevy 4 cylinder in it, it has 4 wheel drive but the front drive shaft is removed, full roll cage, and brand new yokohama tires. The Jeep comes with alot of extras, including… brand new in the box tiger-top worth 700 bucks, a painless wiring harness, an extra windshield (does have a broken arm), full set of diamond plate (rocker panels and rear quarters). May i remind you, this is a project jeep but has major potential. the guy we bought it from was turning it into a STRICTLY 4×4 vehicle, i want to restore. if you have any questions email me back.”

(07/21/2012) It’s been sitting for a couple years and doesn’t have the original motor.
“1942 willys flat fender. sitting in my shop for the last 2 years. use to drive it around while i was working on it. just took it to the shop the other day and they got it running agin but still has old gas which makes it run poor and stink. has a ford 4 cylinder in it and a 3 speed tranny. son in law put new brakes and calipers on it 3 years ago wich need to be bled now. needs a home now to someone that can get it restored. it has WA state horseless carriage plates on it so you never have to get taggs for it again.
$2500 or best offer. Good project for someone.”

“1940’s Willy’s MB 4X4.Runs/Drives.4×4 works/hi-low.3spd t-90 trans,t-18 transfer case 4cyl L-head eng.Jeep has new tires and spare with steel wheels.It has windshield wipers,M-38 windshield,good glass,stereo,heater,all gauges work,horn,air shocks on rear with compressor and controls/gauge on dash,seat belts up front,fuel cell mounted underneath in rear with electric fuel pump,fuel gauge,roll bar,good seats front and rear,Bestop brand soft top and doors-no top bows,carpeted interior,turn signals,head/tail lights,hi/low beams.Warn locking hubs.Jeep has no rust on body except on foot rests of front fenders.Both rear storage areas have lids and are solid inside.Someone has done previous body work on body with bondo on rear corners and hood where a hole looks to have been cut out and patched on hood.Body is not rusted thru but old bondo is cracking on rear corner on driver side.Inside of rear fenders have been cut out and boxed in so the seats can go further back.Trans cover area has been patched with 2a cover and sheet metal where someone cut the cover area up to get at trans or whatever reason.Engine has an alternator and 12v system.Jeep has new clutch,pressure plate,t.o bearing,fork,rod,97 tooth flywheel and electric starter.Comes with matching blue heavy duty tow bar.I only towed it once about 20 miles with drive shafts removed.Custom front and rear bumpers with rear tow hitch.Feel free to ask questions or come check it out before you bid.Jeep has a title and was registered as a 1951 by prev owner.Cover over trans hump is a rubber pad that goes under the carpet in pics.Nice MB ready to play or cruise around in.”

“I have a great 1944 willys jeep for sell, mostly origanal ( rebuilt motor origanal) with new tires and softtop ( these are aftermarket ) It also has a tow bar not shown. I also have the origanal manual that came with the jeep. it also has extra wind shield two piece that came with the jeep, It has been converted over to 12 volt. I have a ton of pis so feel free to call and i will send them. this jeep runs great and is a ball to drive. “

runs good, unique has chevy small block, turbo 350, ford 9″ rearend, 1952 chevy drop axle front
bagged all around. lost interest in it, looking for something new.
the jeep is 98% done and drive able. it needs a new air compressor, valves for bags, and trans cooler, and a set of seats.
there is no registration on this jeep yet, i have pinkslip but haven’t done anything with it.
air system works but everything works slow. this jeep is fast, but cramped inside.

“i have a 1943 Willy’s jeep, has a rebuilt 4 cylinder engine and transmission also is rebuilt. this was a project i had picked up back in 05 and started to restore. dont have time for it anymore. also looking to trade for a skid steer trailer with flip up ramps 16 or bigger don’t matter. Motor and transmission are the frame and all the brakes at new. just needs to be finish have all parts to complete this project except the tub. but do have parts listing’s on where you can get one.
