No Updates Tuesday
UPDATE: This should have posted this morning, but the newest version of WordPress has a glitch that causes posts to randomly miss their scheduled appearance.
Despite Charter Communication’s claim of ‘Blazing Speeds’, last night it was more like tortoise speeds. It was so slow I couldn’t get their Internet Speed Test to work. So, I’d say that calls for the evening off. I’m sure everything will be working by tomorrow night.

Happy Fourth of July!
Just a Couple Updates Saturday
Just a couple updates today, though it certainly isn’t for lack of content. There was a noticeable increase in jeeps for sale last month that was constant throughout the entire month. We may be looking at the leading edge of another recession.
SLAG Is Here .. In Limited Numbers
I’m ready to release a small number of books … 12 to be exact. These first books are signed copies and will be $30 (with free shipping). Around the end of July I will be making the book available to everyone, with signed copies available from me or unsigned copies through Amazon. You can learn more about the book at my new author’s site: http://www.deilers.com/.
Though I’ve done my best to squash all the grammatical errors, I’m sure I’ve missed a few. So, as a part of this first round of books I’ll be offering a bounty of $5 per error if anyone wants to take me up on it (up to a max of $100 or 20 errors — not person but total). When you order the book I’ll explain how to send the errors you find to me. I’m only making this offer to the twelve eWillys readers who purchase this version.
If you want a book, drop me an email (d@ewillys.com) that includes your mailing address. I’ll explain how to pay (I’ll take check or paypal).

No Updates Sunday
Did a quick trip to Seattle. Just a few updates today. Back on Monday.
Reminder: I am gone until around 6/7
Today, my son and I return to Salt Lake and I’ll spend the day with my other two kids. On Monday, I’ll be heading for Winnemucca, then turn north for Silver City, Idaho for a little remote mountain exploring.
That’s a quick summary of this quick trip. Though I’ll be gone.
Winch-Powered Hoist at Construction Site
This CJ-5 powered a winch to hoist materials for a building under construction in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It was featured in the January 1858 issue of Willys News.
Just a Couple Updates Today
I took last night off, so just a couple updates today. More on Sunday. Next weekend (June 5/6) I may be taking several days off, as my oldest son wants to take me canyoneering in Moab (rappelling down an arch is how he described it). Should be fun!
Website Hiccup Monday Night
There was a website hiccup Monday night, so I didn’t get a chance to do updates. So, we’ll skip a day and do them on Tuesday morning.

2 – Panorama Soft Tops Black Mountain, PA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
Seller notes that white top is a 1979 Panorama top. Looks in great shape.
“Up for sale are my 2, cj2a soft tops. $500 for the black $350 for the white. Im getting a half top made. One is a newer bestop on the Jeep used for 2 short seasons and never in bad weather. It’s black and complete.
The second is a white Panorama Top from 1979 that was found new in a box. I had it cleaned up. Windows are really nice as is the white vinyl. There is one small hole lesser than the size of a metal snap. Inside the liner is nice but stained from the metal hardware that rusted a bit. It looks dark because it is still wet. All hardware is included along with the bow assembly handles latches etc. ”

Only a Couple Updates This Morning
Upon our return home on Friday we learned there’d been a kitchen faucet leak. No damage to the cabinet, but the leaking faucet led to a new sink/faucet combo. So, there was no time for eWillys updates for Sunday. Updates will resume Monday morning!
Engine Question
I received an email with the following question. We are nearly home and I don’t have time to research it. Anyone know the answer?
I’m currently rebuilding, for a customer, a 1940 willys 4 cyl. It has babbitted connecting rods and I was wondering if standard later model rods could be substituted?
