“Vintage 1963 Hesse Hornet powered by a 63 Jeep Kaiser 4 Cyl engine. Engine works by using two cyl to pump air into the compressor while the other two function normally. I haven’t started it but it appears to be in full working order. Asking 750 obo”

Joe spotted this wagon mounted onto a 4-runner chassis.
“1949 Willys Wagon professionally mounted on a 4-wheel drive 1987 Toyota 4-Runner Chassis. Registered, Titled and Insured as a 1949 Willys (I have the Toyota Title also). No emissions test required.
Fuel Injected, reliable 4 cylinder RE22 Engine, 5-Speed Transmission, independent front suspension, power brakes and power steering. Factory Toyota wiring harness, everything works. Removable Side Steps, Audi TT Baseball Stitch leather bucket seats, All new glass & rubbers, and keyed alike door and hatch locks. Runs and drives like a Toyota, but has that cool old look.
Daily driver still needs cosmetics. Very rust free for a 1949, planned on adding more sound-proofing, and interior kit. Heater and A/C have not been completed yet.
New Michelin tires and factory Toyota rims/trim rings.
$7,000 with new winch, or $6,500 w/o winch, pretty firm.”

“I had plans to fix this 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A for use during hunting season, but I never could find the time to work on it. It’s been off the road for a while, but I was told the original four-cylinder flathead engine has little time on an overhaul. It cranks freely with no suspicious noises.
There’s nothing wrong with the Jeep that can’t be fixed by any competent shade-tree mechanic. It needs some basic wiring repair to hook up the new ignition switch, and the brake system has gone dry. The bearing inside the steering column is stiff; I have it soaking in PB Blaster. The Jeep already has been converted to 12 volts, with an alternator, and the gas tank is good. The towbar has a new 2″ coupler.
I do not have a windshield, and the seats obviously need new pans and cushions. There’s a healthy aftermarket for these flat-fender Jeeps, and parts are not difficult to obtain.”

(10/23/2013) This runs and drives. It looks pretty original, except for the hole in the dash.
“This is a 1948 Willys Jeep, CJ2A, 4WD. It has a full aluminum cab. The Jeep has front wheel locking hubs. I believe this Jeep to be all original, or repaired with parts designed for it. This Jeep is the original Utility Vehicle. It is a quarter ton truck, 4WD; a working machine that is ready to use. You can start driving it and using it the moment you get it.
This Jeep runs very well. It starts every time, even on bitter cold January mornings after sitting outside all night. Our routine is to start the Jeep about once every two weeks. It starts readily every time.
The engine was recently rebuilt. Since we seldom drive this Jeep, it has virtually no miles on the rebuild. This Jeep engine is the original Jeep engine. The gas tank has been sealed, the brakes completely reworked. Our price is $5000, but we are willing to consider offers. We would like to sell this Jeep by November 15th.”
UK paper the Nottingham Post reported on Joe Plater’s 100th Birthday this month. He’s the oldest known surviving “Desert Rat”. Looks like he can still pilot of a jeep, too.

John spotted this photo on this website from page 29 of the March 30, 1942, issue of Life Magazine. The article covered the Flying Tigers and features some great photos.

Craig spotted this rare jeep. I wish I had the extra nickels to compete for it. It includes four plastic bicycles, too.
“Up for auction is a very nice old unused Tour de France car with 4 bikes. It is in Original Box. The Jeep with the bikes is 5.25 inches long x 2.75 inches at the front fenders. The front of the windshield says Tour de France with 2 French flags. It is a very pretty mint green color This toy shows no signs of any use. The box and toy are in very good condition. The box shows 2 figures in the front seat, but it does not appear to have them, not that they are missing. There are no marks where they might have been. Ask questions and bid carefully. Gear Box steering very little play to none

The 24V systems was replace with a 12V missing the Carburetor Radiator

UPDATE: **SOLD** This is not a Parkway Conversion. I thought I saw barn doors on the back, but guess I was seeing things! This includes a PTO Winch and maybe the snow blade. Looks like a good price.

“I am selling my 1944 Willys Jeep. One of the cleaner Willys out there. The jeep runs great and is in good condition. It has a 4 cylinder, 3 speed trans L HEAD motor. The motor was fully rebuilt about 3 years ago and has been parked since. It does have a clean title. The jeep is 4WD. It has a tilt steering wheel installed and a back tow hitch and a front trailer hitch. I am including a brand new in the box top with doors and brand new wiper motors.The paint job is in good condition with no rust. The interior is in good condition but the back seats need to be redone. Not sure on the mileage because it has all new gauges but the current odometer says 10 miles. Also has new brakes.”

“This is a 1957 willys cj 3b to my knowledge. It is a funn little thing l-head 4 cylinder with the three speed. Fun little trail rig ive fixed quite a few things on it sense ive owned it. It really doesnt need anything…. New battery at the beginning of summer new headlights, it has good tread tires they Are dry rot ive been driving on them for two years now and they hold air just fine never have them go flat …….
