1955_3trucks_rocklandUPDATE:  **SOLD** Was Free

Here’s a seller who wants all this to go to a single buyer.  There’s an entire plow setup.  If there’s an overdrive in all this, then this might be a deal worth investigating.  Besides, it’s got a cool flashy light.

“Okay, I haven’t been able to sell them, so I’m willing to give them to some who will take them all. The green ’55 was running till a few years ago, but it really needs a complete restoration now.”

t-90 with OD Vashon, Wa $250

• CATEGORIES: OD Borg Warner/Rancho

UPDATE:  Price dropped to $250

Overdrive’s don’t appear too often.  Here’s a chance to snag a rare Borg Warner overdrive.  Most of the overdrives that appear for sale are the Warn/Saturn style overdrive, which mount behind the input shaft of the transfercase.  The Borg Warner overdrive mounts along the output shaft (or better put, intercepts the output shaft).  Learn more about overdrives here.

UPDATE:  A reader noted that it’s got a L-Head engine for some strange reason.

This is a nice, solid looking CJ-3B.

“This is a 1958 Jeep Willys High Hood, it’s my grandpa’s jeep, and it is in very good condition.  Starts right up, and the engine runs good.  Tires are in great condition, tred is all there.  The interior isnt very old, maybe 6 years or so. This jeep has been kept in storage the whole time he’s had it.  Unless you count the occasional 4 mile trip to another garage.  Please call my grandpa for questions, he will know more about it.  His number is 417-682-6578, please only call after 5 pm central time.”

• CATEGORIES: Website, Willys Trucks, Willys Wagons • TAGS: .

I’m attempting to find a website that discusses this Willys/Jeep Truck/Van thingy.  My guess, based on our reader from Israel, is that this is an international vehicle.

So far, I have had no luck finding information about it.  However, in the process of my search, I did stumble upon a great website about Trucks:  There are features, trucks and parts for sale, a comprehensive links page, and more.

UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was listed at $3000.

Craig has this FJ for sale.  It appears he collects and/or photographs a variety of ice cream related vehicles.  Check out all his pics on Flickr.

Craig writes, “I have a 1964 Jeep Willys FJ6 Fleetvan that I’m selling if anyone is interested. It’s an original 1964 Kaiser Jeep FJ-6 postal truck, or fleetvan. Was used as an ice cream truck but has been sitting for a few years…”

Here’s an image of a truck from Craigs portfolio that’s not for sale and is not a jeep of any kind, but is an unusual ice cream truck.

1942_mb_davidUPDATE: David wrote to tell me he is moving his website to So update your bookmarks.  His move is a result of the geocities shutdown.

The website snuck up on me.  I didn’t think there was much here, but the more I dug, the more I found.  There’s an extensive book list, link list, a list on the differences between a GPW and MB, a list on the differences between an MB and a Hotchkiss M201, pics and more.

The website’s owner, David appears to live in the Netherlands. He shows many pics from a jeep he restored, but it doesn’t appear to be the same jeep that’s on the front page.

I tested a few of the links for the list of links, and at least some were out of date.

Builds: 1951 CJ-3A Off of Pirate 4×4

I found this build through Usenet of all places (long story) on Pirate 4×4.  What I liked about it was that this body was pretty much toast, but the builder has done a nice job of resurrecting it for his project.  Below is a picture of his replacement hat channels and replacement of the triangle piece at the front of the body.

There’s plenty of pics and plenty of customization. It’s definitely a project still.

Builds: Filandia, Columbia

• CATEGORIES: Builds, International

Sebastian has forwarded a couple great pics from Columbia.  I love the colorful jeeps against the colorful buildings.  Thanks!

He writes, ” I received these Pictures from a very good friend. They are from a small town called “Filandia”. This is a typical picture of these kinds of towns, many Willys (especially CJ-3Bs) group in the middle of the town, next to the stores so people use them as taxis after buying groceries. As you can see they are pretty much stock even though some modifications have been done to improve performance. Keep in mind this is not a Willys ride, a car show, or anything like that; it is just s typical day in Filandia. The pictures only show a few, but you can usually see more than 20 together. Their drivers have been doing this for so many years and usually with the same vehicles. They always tell you they will never sell their Willys since they have provided a way of living for almost 50 years. Finding a Willys in Colombia is no problem, finding someone willing to sell it is a different story. Enjoy.

1961_fc150_southfieldUPDATE:  Was $20,950. **SOLD**

It looks in pretty good shape.

“1961 Willys Jeep FC-150 Pickup. Original 78 horsepower four cylinder engine, three speed manual transmission, 5.13 geared Dana 44 axles front and rear. High and low range four-wheel-drive. Brand new reproduction Firestone 7.00-15 military lug tires on factory 15” steel wheels. This is a rust-free 32,000 original mile California desert truck that has less than 500 miles on a body-off-frame restoration. These trucks were built on the CJ-5 platform and featured a cab-forward body and a small pickup bed. Only 1,298 1961 FC-150’s were ever built and there are only a handful left in this condition. Beautiful Mountain Green Poly and Palm Beach Ivory two-tone with beige interior. Very reliable and can be driven anywhere. Top speed of about 55 MPH but will pull a house down the road. “Tool Time” Tim Taylor just paid $40,000 for one of these trucks in similar condition at the recent Arizona auctions, this truck can be bought for only $20,950.”
