This looks real nice, but has a mix of dates and parts.
“Beautiful Willys MB. This is believed to be a 1945 MB, but year and serial number are unknown. Reproduction plates indicate a 1942 Willys. This jeep has undergone a frame off restoration and is perfect for parades, re-inactors, and collectors.
The frame is in excellent shape with minor work done on the front frame horns. The previous owner put in a rebuilt CJ2A/3A civilian flat head L-head engine. He said the engine was rebuilt a few years ago.
Everything has been gone through on this jeep and everything has been cleaned, repainted, or replaced with new, NOS, or repro parts.
Chassis and Drive Train: New leaf springs front and rear, new/rebuilt shackles, new shocks, new axle bumpers, frame stripped/blasted and painted, new front bumper, new gussets and new spring mounts – frame horns welded to repair some minor wear and tear.
Drive train has new u-joints, new clutch and bearing, new seals and bearings on tranny and transfer case which were drained, cleaned and repainted, and all fluids and gaskets replaced, new e-brake pads, hardware, and cable, new engine/tranny mounts, new brakes including all lines and hoses, new master cylinder, four new wheel cylinders. Rebuilt steering box and drag link with original re-painted steering wheel. Original rear bumperettes, repro. pintle hook. 5 new 6×16 6 Ply NDT tires on brand new combat rims. Tranny and transfer case real strong and work properly. Clutch does sometime keep from going into first, but will if you wiggle the shifter.
Engine: Runs strong and smooth, minor smoke at start up, relatively quiet engine, no misses. New Solex Carburetor , new fuel pump, rebuilt manifolds and new gaskets, new 12 volt alternator, new coil, new wiring, new battery, new hoses, new belts, new 180 degree t-stat, new temp. gauge, new ammeter, new fuel gauge and sender, new fuel lines, new plugs and wires. Brand new reproduction radiator and new cap.
Body: Bensinger MD Juan MB body kit; new tub, fenders, grille, windshield including new glass, new wipers, hood, seats, new fuel tank, new top bows, brackets and hardware, new canvas seats and top (Canvas is Beachwood and WEE BEE Webbing canvas), repro. shovel and axe, original 1945 dated Wheeling gas can, repro. water bucket, rebuilt authentic blackout lights, new headlights and tail-lights, repro data plates.
Misc: All new electrics, all new gauges, all lights, all new switches work properly. Brake tail lights do tend to stick on occasion.”
