Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I believe this is the first muffler I have ever seen installed in the engine compartment; the only problem is that it is installed on the intake side of things rather than the exhaust side.

Not 100% original, but looks very nice.

This runs. It has an inline six.
“Early CJ-series Willy’s in working condition. Has 6 cylinder Kaiser Supersonic Engine (not original probably came from a vintage Henry J) and a original 6 volt system. New seats, rebuilt carburator and new tires (plus new spare). Most non-original modifications removed to simulate exact version that became the M-38. Cash only. Drive or tow away with 1 3/8″ hitch. Cash only. Moving out of state have to part with my toy.”

“For Sale 4-speed SM420 transmission with granny 7.04:1 first gear mated via Advanced Adapters (PN# 50-2401) to a Dana 18 transfer case with the large 1.25″ intermediate shaft. This is the ultimate set up for short wheel base Jeeps. I had this drive train in my Willys Jeep and it worked great. Comes complete with shifters, cross member mount, and output yokes. The tranny and T-case were rebuilt a few years back. I have since moved to a longer wheelbase jeep and switched this out for a Dana 300.”
Body is fiberglass.

“I took this Jeep out from an old barn in P.A. that was stored for 25 years. I can show you pictures. Although has its share of rust, its all there and so is the motor. I havent had it running but the gentleman I purchased it from had it cranking days prior to the sale. Very cool and awesome project piece. It has a gray/blue airforce looking paint under a olive green paint job. Not exactly sure what I have but very cool and sharp looking. I will try and get pictures a.s.a.p. 848-203-7856”

John writes, “Steve, our resident AT/wiring guru has had this in one of the back bays for the last year. The pictures don’t do any justice to the super slick paint job on the frame. Boxed and stretched frame (8″ in the front horns), small block Ford, C4 automatic, Model 18 TC, and an overdrive from Herm. Here’s the reallt slick part, Jeep XJ rear leaf springs, under all 4 corners. R&P Dana 44 front, with disc brakes, and a R&P full floater kit in the rear, with 11″ drums.”

“What i have here is a 1959 Willys jeep fc150 4×4. These are super rare and getting harder to find. This one is “mostly” complete if you wanted to put it back to stock.There is no interior at all. But thats not what I had in mind. This would make a cool rat truck. I have a 40 ford drop axle for the front, and a late model chevy rear end for the back. 5 speed chevy trans and a short block 350 that has just been rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. I have a set of heads and a 4 barrel intake and carb and a set of headers. Trans comes with a good clutch assembly. 1/2 gal of sublime green paint goes with this project. Strapped to the back is a jeep inline 6 and a 3 speed jeep trans and transfer case. I have never heard them run but was told the motor is good. It turns freely.I also have a set of 50 chevy rear truck fenders to use for the bed. I guess you have to have vision to see what this truck could be. I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw it. But I have other projects that i would like to finish, so this one has to go. I’ve spent some time and money coming up with all the stuff to do this truck the way I wanted. It also has a clean title ready to go. The front window and a side window is broken. I have a replacement for the side and paperwork on where to get a new front. Also has a spare rear window. If you just want the Jeep and what you see in the pics, I will take $1500 cash and keep the rest for a future project. I might take a trade on a running car or truck. A v6 s10 or a small 2 door gas saver. But cash is king so bring your trailer and come get it. super easy to load. this is going to make a bad ass toy for someone. call 314-368-3997 between 10 am and 10 pm. Recent engine rebuild by highly reputable Jeep mechanic. New clutch. New brakes. New shocks. Stainless steel gas tank. New tires. Plus other little detailed fixes. I am ashamed how much I have in this pet project. I have receipts for all the work done. Some new glass replaced. I have a rare replacement windshield to go with it. It is truly an original. I get the thumbs up whenever I am on the road with it.”

“have a late 40’s Jeep Willys for sale. bought it 6 years or so ago running but burning oil. the body was rotted, holes every where. so i removed the body, removed the Engine assembly (engine, trans, T-case) to do a rebuild on the engine. and was going to restore it with a new body from Jc whitney .com but now a days i dont have any time to do anything with it. so my loss your gain.
it’s been sitting out under the tarp “car port” for the last 6 years has a light coating of rust, nothing to horrible. a few areas in the rear of the frame that need repair but nothing to out of hand. simple work.”
