Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Mostly orginal jeep in need of some work. The floors need replaced or fixed and the windshield chanel is rusty, but this jeep is worth fixing. It has a v6 buick engine which has 18,000 orginal miles. I strongly believe the miles are correct because i purchased it off the orginal owner. The gas tank has rust in it so u may be able to flush it or have to replace it don’t know. It’s four wheel drive an i thing it would be a blast to drive if fixed up. I just flat out have way to many projects on my hads, an it will be years before i reach this one thats why im selling. you can here the engine run briefly before it runs out of gas. Sorry about the last posting my computer went down right after i posted it. I want so of my money back out of it so i could say 1,500 or 1,200 and go down. “1953 willys flat fender, hard top. 26980 original miles. custom diamond plating. custom bumpers, cargo and tire rack. Newer bfg tires. Runs perfect. Mechanically sound. Full interior roll cage, and rocker bars. Have new 4.3L v-6 conversion motor that goes with it. Never had the heart to change it out as original motor runs so strong. Converted to 12v. Only $1500? That almost seems to good to be true, but I think this is real.
“Up for grabs is my 1943 Willy’s MB Flat fender Jeep. Im getting deep in bills so shes gotta go.
It does run and drive but needs the wiring harness finished. And it needs new u-joints for the front drive line.
It has a buick even fire 3.8 engine, 3 spd manual trans with hydraulic clutch. Has a $600 warn overdrive installed on the t-case.
It has like new 31 10.5 pro comp tires.
Heres a list of most of the work ive done to it.

Had the heads rebuilt
New gaskets and paint
Chrome valve covers
Brand new carb
New Griffen aluminum Radiator and hoses
VDO gauges
Bucket seats

Relocated battery with mast shutoff in the dash.
Custom 13″ aluminum steering wheel with crash pad
Speedway quick disconnect coupler for the steering wheel

“I have a willys Jeep CJ2A made in 1946. This is a project that I do not have the time for any more. There is no BODY… It was rusted out and I got rid of it. I did keep the two front fenders, hood and wind shield. The engine ran when I brought it home two years ago. I have a title and all the data plates. Currently the jeep is not running. You will need to trailer it home. I have many parts in buckets. This is definitely a project or a parts jeep. The frame is in good shape and looks to be a converted military frame done at the factory. Has all original wheels. I will throw in a manual with all parts list, and diagrams. (08/20/2010) It looks solid.
“1957 willys fc150. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT COMPLETELY RESTORED but it is a solid truck and strong runner. this truck is in excellent mechanical condition. Runs drives and stops, ( good brakes). Four wheel drive with lockout hubs and overdrive all works great. this is the best and the most complete fc i had ever owned, even the dome light works. It is and was a original factory flatbed with removable side racks. the doors fit tight like new with no swag, the windows are good and clear with no cracks, the door glass rolls down with no problems, floor boards are excellent and the frame is solid with the counter weight. head ,tail,and stoplights and horn all works. the wipers work sometimes but needs help. The lower cab corners have been repaired overall it is in excellent condition. The front bumper was removed with extra support added so it could be used as a push or service vehicle. The cab is solid and free of any dents.”

Doug sent me this a few days ago. I had wanted to post it earlier, but kids, feeding kids, playing games with kids, and putting kids to work, has meant my updates have been a bit sketchy.
So, here’s a tribute to his year’s 4th of July celebrations.
Doug writes, “these flat fenders were all part of a 4th of July parade in a small Northern California cabin community. Far left is a my 48 cj2a, center is a 53 cj3a, right is a nicely resstored 46 vec cj2a with a few updated parts. All are pretty stock and daily drivers in the mountains of Northern California.”
This looks like a good price.

Motor has good compression and runs well though has some smoke on cold start. Has new springs and good brakes.
