Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Rebuilt F-134, bored 0.30 over, after market carb one barrel, T-90, 3 speed trany, T-18 transfer case, Lock-Right lockers front and rear, Spencer 25or27 front &Dana 44 rear diffs w/10 spline (I think), 5.38 gears (I think), Warn overdrive, Cutlas hub lock, BF mud terrain T/A 30/9.50/R15 w/lots of tread, upholstery is rough, has folding rear seat, H-4 headlamps, cab heater, and 2nd battery isolation relay, 120 volt block water heater, The body has rust in the normal places a 53 year old body would have.”

“Up for sale is an Awesome Jeep CJ3B. Only 37k miles. Just changed diff gear oil. I really do not want to sell, but i have 2 other Jeeps and not enough storage space. I started to restore her about 1 year ago, but I’m in the process of moving, and i just don’t have the room anymore. The motor has been removed for better access. She ran like a champ when i last drove her! I have all parts labeled, and neatly set asidethat were removed (minor). Motor, tranny, and transfer case are all together. Minimal rust on floor panel, has all gauges (fuel gauge is probably going to need replacement), 31″ tires, roll cage, and much much more! Have title in hand for new owner. The pictures were taken a week or so ago. Great project vehicle, or just put the motor back in and have some good ol fun! There are plenty of extra parts if needed. This jeep is an antique and a collectors item, and one of the first Civilian Jeeps ever made. I could go on and on about this Jeep, but don’t have time right now. Here’s an unusally modified CJ-2A.

Dan just picked up this SM420 pretty cheaply, but it has a remote shifter rather than a tower shifter. Anyone have a SM420 Tower they don’t need? If so, leave a comment below and I’ll make sure Dan get’s your message.
Dan notes this tranny came from a M-561 6×6 (note inscription on serial number). Here’s a link to Olive Drab which describes them.

Here’s a great deal. This includes an overdrive and a PTO! The roll cage looks good, too. I’m wondering if this also has the hudson steering, as that steering wheel looks similar to a hudson wheel.

(09/20/09) This has got a wide rimmed, slanted dashboard fiberglass body. It also has the rear wheel well extended slightly.

This jeep has been in the family since around 1957. It has always been kept in a nice dry barn and only used occasionally, mostly just to drive around the property. It runs fine and I just drove it to a jeep show last week. The brakes need a little work as well as some of the light bulbs. It’s a VEC and has got a variety of modifications. Note the cutouts right at the indents … why oh why?!
“Mileage of 35,363 is actual. Serial No. 23117. This Jeep has been on a Texas Ranch all its life, and never highway driven. 4 wheel drive works great! Manual 3 speed and has both low and high gear range in 2 wheel drive. 4 cylinder flathead 60 horsepower runs like a sewing machine. Overhauled in 1994. Regularly serviced and maintained. All books and records since 1997. Seats and top are heavy vinyl &only 3 years old …. It was originally owned by 3 Rancher/Deer hunting buddies in West Texas. I’m not sure what it would take to bring this into the U.S. and it seems pretty high priced for a non-runner, but it looks complete and raw. Interestingly, it appears to have Cali black plates, so not sure what it’s doing down there. Check out the email addy … lol

I am moving and this old Willys project has to go. No title — I have the paperwork for a Rebuilders Title. It belonged to a friend’s Dad — part of his major junk vehicle collection. We have both decided to give up, so this ol’ beast has to go. The price is $600 — $500 of that goes to my friend, and $100 is mine for the parts I put into it. Please don’t expect me to haggle on the price — I’m only getting reimbursed for new parts and getting nothing for storing this thing for 3 years. It has the original 4 cylinder engine and turns over fine, I just haven’t got it to start yet. I bought some new parts (coil, cap, condenser, switch, etc.) but haven’t had the time to seriously troubleshoot the issue. There is some spark — it might just need new plugs”
