This is a nice looking CJ-3B, but what’s going on with the rear springs?
“1964 CJ3B Jeep runs & drives – 4X4 works – has F134 motor, an extra transfer case, and a metal top with doors. Will take $3,500.00 OBO.”

This jeep has a variety of upgrades, though it’s having some difficulty with 2nd gear.
“I am selling my cj3a to make room for my other projects. It has a 4 bolt 350 chevy with an sm420 truck 4 speed, dana 20 t-case, dana 44 rear end and stock front. Brand new 33.12.50 BFG mud terrains. Completely rewired with painless harness. Needs brake work and the rebuilt 4 speed still has trouble shifting into 2nd. Does run and drive (I drive it to work on Friday’s and weekends). “1948 FLAT FENDER WILLYS. 350. 4 SPEED. roll cage. 427 gears. 4 wheel disc brakes. on board air. spare tire carrier(gas cans). 2 fuel pumps 1 electric 1 mechanical. a 8274 warn winch. duel flow master exaust. LOCKED FRONT AND REAR. TOW BAR. LIST GOES ON AN ON”
The seller lists this as a 1953 GB2. I thought that was a mistake until I did a search and discovered that this probably means this jeep is part of the second round of serials numbers for CJ-3Bs. In other words, it’s a pretty early CJ-3B.
“1953 Willys GB2. B style so room for new engine. 12 Volt System. Valve stuck in the original flat head. Tranny, lock outs, and diff good shape. Good wheels and tires. I don’t have time to rebuild. Great project. Licensed as collectable. $2,995 or BO.”
Here’s the first jeep I’ve ever featured from Puerto Rico and what a beauty it is.
“For Auction Beautifull 1960 Jeep Willys, it has been in the family since new, only one owner. It was recently restore by professionals. Everything in great working conditions.
UPDATE: A reader provided some pics. He notes it’s in pretty good shape, but the seller is ‘a bit difficult’.
“Solid jeep stored indoors,no rust built in tow bar, v/6 buick engine, plenty of power, asking 2000.00 obo call mark at 480-217-1386. has license plate and i have a clear title.”
Here’s a very nice looking 1942 MB (or is it a GPW?) that a reader spotted in Boise a couple days ago.
This looks like a lighter duty fiberglass body similar to the fiberglass body I used on my first jeep.
“Replacement fiberglass tub for all flat fender Willys Jeep models. Comes with high-back, brand new, fiberglass seats with lap belts. Also has a perfect grill. This tub is in excellent shape, no holes and its never been mounted. The grill and tub are ready for your paint! This will shorten your project by months! Please call Mark @ 916-295-9157 for more information.”
The body looks a little beat up.
“Good condition with V-8 and automatic transmission and 35” tires. Runs and drives good.”
This jeep has undergone a number of changes. The seller has added detailed artwork to the hood, while underneath is a nice looking V8.

This 1961 CJ-6 hybrid appears in pretty good shape. But what inspired the design? Rust in the body maybe? Maybe something in the water in Maine?

This might make a nice project. The body appears in good shape with all its chrome.

There’s been some body work done on the driver’s side near the step.
“Original drive train except Warn overdrive has been added. No rust. Runs and drives good. Not many originals left like this.”
Here’s another one of these Willys/Toyota hybrids. It appears to have been a well executed transformation, though the front bumper is a little underwhelming.
“This auction is for my 1953 Willys Jeep built using my many years of experience owning and using lifted Jeeps as daily drivers. The very clean Willys Jeep body is mounted on a Suzuki Samurai frame. This was done to gain a light weight, fully boxed, straight and rust free frame. I installed a Toyota 20R mated to a Toyota 4 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case. These were bought with about 80,000 miles on them per the previous owner. The engine starts immediately and does not smoke. I upgraded to an electronic distributor and purchased a used MSD box (works great). I am also running a remanufactured Holley 32/36 carburetor. The transmission shifter has a lot of play but there are no issues with how it works (it does not pop out of gear or make noises). A new clutch was put in when the transmission was installed.”

This is a CJ-3A with a M-38 body and some stainless additions, such as the grille and jockey box.
“You are bidding on a beautifully restored 1949 Willys Overland Jeep. It was aquired by a father and son in Utah who did much of the major restorations between 2000 and 2003. During that time it also ran one of the Moab courses. In 2003 it was purchased by a collector in Connecticut who did little more with it than store it in a heated garage. I bought it in 2007. The chasis, engine and drive train are original CJ3A (civilian) and the body is a steel M 38 (military). It has after market front lock out hubs. It is painted Subaru Electric Yellow. The electrical system is 12 volts … reach seller directly at 860-966-0292”
Sometime back, Dan’s grandfather had replaced the stock CJ-5 steering with a Hudson steering mechanism. However, the bell crank has seen better days, so Dan decided to upgrade to a manual saginaw. Upgrading to the manual saginaw is rare these days (see various steering upgrade options here), so it’s a nice treat to have Dan document his work for us. Thanks Dan!
Dan writes:
Here is the Jeep soon after I picked it up from my grandfathers old ranch. I had already started to disassemble it. It’s a 1955 CJ5 which he purchased in 1959. About ten years ago he told me that his best guess was that it had about 500,000 miles on it. It has seen a lot of abuse and he made many modifications to it. That’s a Hudson steering wheel and column.
As you can see in this close up, the frame is broken clean in half just in front of the divers side front wheel.
The bellcrank where he relocated it. It was just about ready to literally fall off. All the welds were broken and only one bent bolt was holding it on.
Jim’s giving us an early look at the VEC CJ-2A he pulled out of Crawford, Colorado. He’s planning on listing this on eBay very soon (unless he gets a good offer before then). He’d really like it to go to someone who will give it a good restore.
He writes: “I pulled this CJ-2A out of Crawford Colorado. It has an early serial number, three on the tree, tool indents, 3 piece agri dash plate, early wire steering wheel, 6 volt, very little rust, runs great, motor is super quiet. The serial number is 17614.”
The ad makes it sounds like a lot of parts, but the pictures don’t suggest a lot of parts. Still, it might be worth a peek if you are nearby.
“lots of Jeep parts, Grills, radiators, wheels, transmissions, engine, manifolds, starters and more. $250.00 takes it all! 719-337-9088”
UPDATE: This appears to have been sold. Asking price was $850
If you can use some of the other Wagon parts, this might be a good way to get an Overdrive.
“1954 Willys station wagon, two wheel drive with the original straight six in good running condition with 3 speed standard trans with OverDrive. Rebuilt brakes. The Willys needs restoration so please don’t ask if it can be driven across Country….car has a good California title and is currently registered non-op. It comes with all glass, spare door and parts, all 5 correct rims (not in photos)t. Everything is still on the 6 volt setup. Mostly complete, it is missing the back seat, front lower cushions and factory radio. Being relisted due to a idiot who wanted it then did not have any money ”
**SOLD**
It looks in pretty good shape.
“It runs very good. Excellent Condition. Brand New Battery. Kept Very Well. Very good Tires. Includes a soft top
