“Well folks, the time has come, gonna let go of one of my toys. I just ain’t got the time no more, hasn’t been used in two years or more. It is a 1948 Willy’s Jeep. It is a CJ-2 so don’t let the paint job fool ya, although there are only cosmetic differences between the CJ (civilian market) and the MB (military market), it is not actually a military Jeep. Though the original in-line 4 cylinder “Go Devil” motor and running gears are all basically the same as the military version. It don’t go fast (top end of about 52 mph) but it goes like a goat in the rough stuff. These pictures are to let ya see what it is. It is not a museum piece, it does have some rusty spots that could be dressed up.
This is a real nice useable toy that I had a blast with. It is a licensable vehicle, which means you can run up and down fire trails or forestry roads without worrying about Mr. Forestry man raising hell, or taking your ride like a four wheeler or Razor. This jeep also comes with a Roll Bar, a 10,000 lb electric winch that is set up to work from the front or back while operated from the divers seat, a tow bar (very easy to tow) so you can get it to your favorite riding location faster than driving it there. And 2 manuals 1) Repair & 1) Master Parts List. In hand title, so first $5,200.00 takes it home. Or make me a reasonable offer, but please don’t waste either of our times by trying to low ball it. Looks like a good parade jeep.
“eep runs and drives and is great for running to the store or driving in a parade. It has new brakes and starts every time. The jeep has working blinkers, seat belts, brake lights, headlights, and a horn. It is street legal and has a clean Kansas title.
Solid body without any active rust areas to speak off. 4×4 works. Gauges work. Tires hold air. Black vinyl seats are very comfortable with springs.
The transmission DOES grind when shifting from third to second about half the time. Sometimes it doesn’t and others times it does. The jeep still drives fine. Forums say the synchronizers need replaced, but not sure.
It does have oil leaks that I heard are normal on these jeeps.
Fun jeep at a reasonable price to still do repairs if you choose, or just drive it as is. Get ready for Spring parades!”
This was the seller’s father’s jeep and he admits he doesn’t know a lot about it. Seller seems convinced it’s a WWII jeep. It is a nice example of an early 2A jeep, though strangely it doesn’t have tool indents (#24566)

(07/07/2017) Has some mods to the rear of the body.
“Parade ready Jeep done up as a US Air Force vehicle. It is a 4×4, 3 speed w/reverse, hi/lo range. Has been converted from 6 to 12VDC with alternator. Gauges work, has windshield wiper and period heaters for driver/passenger. Has a canvas half-top and many other new parts. The original flathead four runs well, and vehicle drives good and comes with a custom made tow-bar and vehicle cover. Currently registered with Antique plates.
VIN # CJ2A185125…………….a unique ride, and a real head turner.
I am 6’2″ and 230 lbs and don’t fit well into this Jeep, a little too tight. As far as I know, this has only been used for parades since being restored by previous owner a number of years ago, and I have only put about 25 miles on it.”
