(03/13/2011) This is a beautiful FC, however there are at least 3 issues I have with this: 1) See image #3, note the chevrolet like design … sigh … 2) See image #4, note the ‘150’ logo rather than ‘170’ … really? …. 3) the bumper isn’t quite stock, but doesn’t look all that bad.

” One (1) 1957 Willis Jeep. No title restriction. 4,288 actual miles. This vehicle starts and runs. Engine Condition: runs. No known repairs needed.Vehicle was removed from service on 12/04/02. Transmission: manual. Transmission Condition: operable. No known repairs needed. Drivetrain: 4 (four) wheel drive, condition unknown. Exterior: yellow, no cracked glass,minor scratches. This looks in good shape, though the floor carpet makes it hard to evaluate the floor.
“1953 Jeep Willys CJ3B. Great running reliable Jeep willys originally purchased by US Navy for base use as depicted on plaque installed on dash. Not a show quality vehicle but not a rust bucket and no areas needing to be addressed. Original color was orange for naval base use to identify allied vehicles. Used on weekends with my kids for parades, jeep events, and beach trips. (09/15/2012) This has a rear PTO. The drain holes have been filled. It has a later model tailgate. Other than that it looks like a good restoration candidate once the price drops.

“This is a 1962 oldie but goodie! This jeep is a classic and runs! This willys has a 305 chevy motor, bell housing and clutch in it. This is from the 60’s so its not 100% cosmetically perfect, but it does have a newer paint job and newer interior. This jeep also has the wood flooring inside. “Hi, I purchased this Willy’s from a gentleman in Texas who performed an approximate 3 year, nut and bolt, frame off restoration on it. As far as I can tell from the paper work, and speaking with the previous owner, this vehicle has always been in Texas up until now. I have a photo file of over 2,500 images on three compact discs that contain every aspect of the restoration, as well as a meticulously kept journal of hand written notations, and a box of receipts totaling well over $20,000. I have included 12 images of the restoration in process prior to my purchasing it, as well as 12 images of how it appears today. Every single part of this Willy’s has been disassembled and either rebuilt, renewed or replaced (for full disclosure I should mention that I’ve noticed the rubber boot on the shifter and a couple other rubber bits show some age). Every part, including the motor, transmission, drive drain, suspension, complete electrical system….. has been rebuilt. I can provide you with a before and after image (and receipt) of practically any and every part on this jeep. The entire vehicle was taken down to bare metal, primed with a rust inhibiting primer and painted. No corners were cut and no expense spared. This was obviously a passion and not a money making venture for this man. I have owned it for about a year and half now. When I received the jeep it had an oil leak coming from the main tranny seal. When the restoration was done, an original felt seal was used and they are notorious for leaks. I replaced the transmission with a new, rebuilt T-90, and installed a new rubber, steel spring main seal. When driven around town, only a tiny drop or two will leak from the seal when it is parked, but when driven off road it will leak a bit more. Maybe a tablespoon’s worth. Other than that, the jeep starts, drives, shifts and performs strong. Only 850 miles have been put on the Willy’s since the restoration (see odometer) and only 300 on the tranny. There are only a few flaws I would like to mention. One is that the fuel gauge works intermittently, mostly it reads empty. On occasion, with no rhyme or reason, it will kick in. The headlight switch works, but sometimes requires that you push it in and out a few times before the lights come on. Once they are on, they stay on until you put the switch in the off position. On the neck of the radiator, where the cap locks on, the seal will leak some fluid. But again, only when driving off road and it doesn’t amount to much. other than that, this Willy’s is pretty much bullet proof. They are fun to drive around town and climb like you wouldn’t believe. What you see in the pictures, aside from a few spare parts, receipts, repair and owner’s manuals is what you get. I do not have a top for it. All original and hard to find parts were used in the restoration, from the turn signal switch, to the horn and side steps. It retains it’s original 6 volt charging system. Once again, rebuilt generator, new regulator and battery. If you are interested in entering and winning any beauty contests with this jeep, this is not the one for you. All the body work was completed without the use of body filler. Although at first glance it appears show quality, with a closer look you can see where body repairs were performed, welds made and sanded. Areas on the hood which had had rust were not filled in, just treated and painted leaving evidence of past pitting. The good news is, is that there is now ZERO rust on this jeep and it is straight and solid as can be, no reason it won’t be around another 62 years. I hate to be selling it, but our family is moving to Los Angeles and I don’t see having much use for it there. …. see ebay add for additional info”

“We are pleased to present this restored 1947 Willys Overland CJ-2A, originally manufactured in Toldedo, OH. This classic civilian version of the famous WWII Jeep MB was completely rebuilt in 1983 and has less than 10,000 miles recorded since. This Willys is period correct, to our knowledge, in every facet besides being converted to a 12V from a 6V. It is powered by the numbers matching 4-Cylinder Flathead, known historically as the “Go Devil,” which produced 60hp at 4,000rpm and 105lb-ft at 2,000rpm. The transmission is a Borg-Warner T-90A1 that is a 3-speed manual and floor shifted. The transfer case is twin stick and gear driven, known as a Dana/Spicer 18. Produced from 1941 to 1971, this transfer case is known for its strength, reliability, and ease of maintenance. This CJ also features an aftermarket CD player and sound system. The first production of the civilian versions began after the war in July of 1945 and ended sometime in 1949. Examples like this well-restored CJ-2A are hard to come by in this condition – the majority of them have not survived the test of time, wear and tear. We are confident this Willy will deliver smiles and satisfaction to its new owner. It comes with doors, supports and top; however, more fun to drive and ride in with them left in the garage. “Extremely rare and impossible to find in this condition. This was my dad’s Willy’s and he has had it parked since December of 1982 covered and taking shelter in a barn in rural western Nebraska.
Super Hurricane 6 Cylinder, 3 Speed Manual Trans, 2 Stick transfer case, 50K original miles.
We made sure the motor was not sized up, but that’s as far as we got. I don’t know if it runs, but we hooked a battery up and all the lights seem to work right. The brakes are not working either. It will need to be transported to your location.
I acquired it from him with the thoughts of a 4 cylinder diesel conversion, as I own and operate a diesel repair shop near Omaha, Nebraska. We have continued to store the wagon here at my shop for the past couple years and I have lost interest in the project.
there is virtually no rust on the body and very minimal surface rust on parts of the undercarriage. This is about as clean as they come for a 62, but its not perfect. Its a 50 year old truck that has been sitting for almost 30 years.

“This is not a replica Jeep. It is a restored original, numbers matching, 4 cyl, 60 hp, 134 ci L-head (Go-Devil) engine. Early SLAT GRILLS are unique as they have no glove box, they have a round muffler, The original air cleaner is known as an oil bath air cleaner. It has hard rubber and 3/4 in rope hood bumpers, solid wheels, three bolt spare tire carrier, no blackout driving lights, no gas can holder, makers name is embossed on the rear panel and a slat grill on the willys. As noted by the serial number this Jeep is one of the last SLAT GRILLS. Only 200 slat grills are estimated to have survived through 2006, according to “Army Motors”, the official magazine of the Military Vehicle Preservation Assoc. The frame and body parts are all original.
The wheels are not “Combat Wheels”, but civilian wheels. “Combat Wheels” were “Not of Issue” on prototype Jeeps until S/N 125700. The reason being, Willys was in the automotive business prior to building“1/4 Ton Utility Trucks.” To meet the demands of the government contract, they had to bid the entire jeep at under $400.00 per unit. To stay under budget, they sold themselves Willys automobile wheels in the very early production (VEP JEEP) versions.
Jeeps were notorious for not stopping very well so I installed a set of 1954 Ford brakes and pads to make it safer on the street.
I also converted the original voltage regulator/electrical system to a modern day 12 volt electronic ignition system for added dependability.
The last Willys SLAT GRILL was S/N 125807; this is S/N 124833 and was devivered to the US Army on March 5, 1942. Frame off restorationwas completed in 2009 and she has been the star of hanger dances, parades, Veterans Day Events, air shows and USO shows. It is a show vehicle, not a ramble through the bushes and the brambles jeep. The mainenance manual is in English and Russian. It is “period correct” complete with a 48 star flag, all canvas top, shovel and Axe attached to the drivers side and a copy of an M! automatic carbile for the dash.”
“We are selling our 1957 Willys Wagon 4 Wheel Drive, it has the original Super Hurricane 6cyl. motor, manual 3 speed transmission. It drives excellent and handles very nice. The body is in great condition and free of rust, all complete and very original. It has CA black plates, and I have the original title too.
