“Extremely rare and impossible to find in this condition. This was my dad’s Willy’s and he has had it parked since December of 1982 covered and taking shelter in a barn in rural western Nebraska.
Super Hurricane 6 Cylinder, 3 Speed Manual Trans, 2 Stick transfer case, 50K original miles.
We made sure the motor was not sized up, but that’s as far as we got. I don’t know if it runs, but we hooked a battery up and all the lights seem to work right. The brakes are not working either. It will need to be transported to your location.
I acquired it from him with the thoughts of a 4 cylinder diesel conversion, as I own and operate a diesel repair shop near Omaha, Nebraska. We have continued to store the wagon here at my shop for the past couple years and I have lost interest in the project.
there is virtually no rust on the body and very minimal surface rust on parts of the undercarriage. This is about as clean as they come for a 62, but its not perfect. Its a 50 year old truck that has been sitting for almost 30 years.

“This is not a replica Jeep. It is a restored original, numbers matching, 4 cyl, 60 hp, 134 ci L-head (Go-Devil) engine. Early SLAT GRILLS are unique as they have no glove box, they have a round muffler, The original air cleaner is known as an oil bath air cleaner. It has hard rubber and 3/4 in rope hood bumpers, solid wheels, three bolt spare tire carrier, no blackout driving lights, no gas can holder, makers name is embossed on the rear panel and a slat grill on the willys. As noted by the serial number this Jeep is one of the last SLAT GRILLS. Only 200 slat grills are estimated to have survived through 2006, according to “Army Motors”, the official magazine of the Military Vehicle Preservation Assoc. The frame and body parts are all original.
The wheels are not “Combat Wheels”, but civilian wheels. “Combat Wheels” were “Not of Issue” on prototype Jeeps until S/N 125700. The reason being, Willys was in the automotive business prior to building “1/4 Ton Utility Trucks.” To meet the demands of the government contract, they had to bid the entire jeep at under $400.00 per unit. To stay under budget, they sold themselves Willys automobile wheels in the very early production (VEP JEEP) versions.
Jeeps were notorious for not stopping very well so I installed a set of 1954 Ford brakes and pads to make it safer on the street.
I also converted the original voltage regulator/electrical system to a modern day 12 volt electronic ignition system for added dependability.
The last Willys SLAT GRILL was S/N 125807; this is S/N 124833 and was devivered to the US Army on March 5, 1942. Frame off restorationwas completed in 2009 and she has been the star of hanger dances, parades, Veterans Day Events, air shows and USO shows. It is a show vehicle, not a ramble through the bushes and the brambles jeep. The mainenance manual is in English and Russian. It is “period correct” complete with a 48 star flag, all canvas top, shovel and Axe attached to the drivers side and a copy of an M! automatic carbile for the dash.”

The body is in great condition and free of rust, all complete and very original. It has CA black plates, and I have the original title too. “Here is my 1945 willys MB. This took me three winters to do a full frame up restoration.The frame was sanblasted and coated with POR 15 before being painted, The front frame horns were replaced and the rear crossmember. The axles were gone through and also POR 15 and then painted. The T84 transmission was gone through and rebuilt also the transfercase.The MB stamped engine was rebuilt by an engine shop, has about 200 miles on it. The Tub,hood,fenders,and windshield frame came from willys overland, the grill is original. The canvas is from beachwwod canvas, and the wireing is from vintage wireing of maine.All five combat rims are original and were sandblasted coated with POR 15 and then painted.There are many original parts NOS parts and some new parts in this jeep.The brakes are all new and new lines.I had a guy on the G503 website do some research and find the hood numbers for this MB, which he felt these were the correct ones. The data plate on the frame horn is original and the plates on the glove box door came from dataplates4U.Serial #412XXX.This is a great looking MB, Im sure I forgot about some stuff, any questions feel free to ask or send me your phone number and I would be glad to talk to you.I will get some more photos posted this weekend. These photos were taken this past summer.”

“This is an original, 1942 Army Jeep. It was built in April, 1942 and still has the data plates. This jeep is as complete and rust free as you will ever find. This jeep was my daily driver since 1993 and has always been garaged. DMV registration is current.
This jeep comes complete with all five 2-piece rims (no tires), rifle rack and aftermarket canvas top. There are numerous extra parts, including the original carburetor, 6-volt generator and fire extinguisher. The engine block is cracked and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The original transmission and radiator have been rebuilt. I have all receipts for repairs and parts. This jeep can be restored to museum quality or used as a daily driver. Do not compare this to incomplete, non-working jeeps found outside in yards.”
