The 2nd Annual Northwest FC Get Together was this past weekend in Olympia. Josue was kind enough to forward some images from the event and give his take on it.
Josue writes, “Last weekend was the first opportunity I have had to visit a Jeep get-together. It wasn’t a huge turnout but it was definitely worth visiting. The meet-up was in Olympia, WA and it was specifically for Forward Control Jeeps. This was the second year and only about 8 showed up, although I’m sure it will get bigger with time. It was fun talking to a few people and seeing a couple of them run.” Thanks Josue!
Colin’s friend Al has got a nice collection of Willys. Colin forwarded a few pics of Al’s jeeps with some notes. Nice looking vehicles Al!
Colin writes, “I attached a photo of a CJ2A [al toy] that I did for a buddy of mine sitting on the hood of his August-built 1945 CJ2A with column shift, rebuilt with a lot of the leftover MB stuff that Willys used to get the first CJs on the road.
Al also has a 47 2WD wagon, a 49 Willys truck and a 49 Jeepster that is undergoing a repowering with a 55 Chrysler 331 Hemi, 727 trans, Mustang II front suspension and 56 Corvette rear end. Aside from body work and paint, Al does all the work himself and does an excellent job. The shot of the wagon with whitewall tires is the same wagon. Amazing what a set of wide whites will do for a car.”
UPDQTE: **SOLD** Was $18,500.
I’ve spent a good chunk of time in Watsonville. I built a ballet studio there. I actually danced in a Nut Cracker Ballet during that period, too. That was for ex-wife #2. Hmmm … Let’s talk about the truck instead …. Here’s a beautiful truck. Check out the bumper in the last pic.
“47 Willys Pickup; 327; 4 Speed; 4 inch chopped top; 6 inch extended cab; power steering; new upholstery; sprayed on bedliner; driven 200 miles since completionk; $18,500 OBO;”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000

“1950 Willys Jeepster, Serial # 13651, $4950, Needs Restored.”
This is beautiful.
“Restored 1951 Willys Jeep Station Wagon for sale; runs and drives excellent. The Hurricane OHV 6 cylinder engine was overhauled several years ago (at time of restoration) but has less than 500 miles on it; it was rebuilt by a local machine shop (Osgood’s) for roughly $4,000 (have receipts). The clutch / pressure plate, the brake cylinders, shocks, king-pins, all the glass (Davis Glass), carpet, upholstery, and headliner were replaced at the time of the engine rebuild. The paint job and re-plating of the chrome a short time later; price: $12,995. This vehicle has been stored in a garage for over a decade; it has very few minor flaws. Please call 541-926-8131.”
For $25k, I’d hope for at least a few markings …
“1941 Willys MB, slate grill, fully restored from the tires to the top to original condition. $25,000. Call 415-519-1513.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8200.
Frank is selling his CJ-3B.
“For sale: 1954 Willys CJ3B with new tub, rebuilt brakes, all U joints, engine, tranny/transfer case, new beachwood seat covers and foam inserts. Five brand new ndcc tires. The frame was sandblasted and painted with POR 15. It runs great; it has an original F head engine. I documented the restoration with some pics on the CJ3B page. The tub came from willys overland in toledo. The Jeep is now on 12 volts and has an alternator in it. I have extra hood and fender that go with it. The email address is fporfidio@optonline.net . The jeep is in new york (long island). I am asking $8200. This is pretty close to a turn key jeep. I’ve got way more than that into this jeep. I have a ton of pics so if you want to see something just ask me, thanks.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
This looks solid.
“For sale 1954 Willy’s Overland High Hood Jeep, made to look military. Runs great, Email for more pictures. $4000 OBO Serious inquires only please.”
How about this solid, original CJ-3B.
“1953 Jeep willy CJ3A runs good needs battery.comes with windsheild and top $3000. OBO Needs to sell. Call evenings with any questions, ask for gary 541-459 3403”
Here’s a ‘professionally’ restored M-38 that doesn’t appear accurately restored. You can see it is missing the M-38 grille and grill mount, suggesting this is a CJ frame. It doesn’t have a M-38 gas tank and the inlet is in an odd position. The windshield vent should be bolted, not hinged. The rear of the frame looks civilian; Here’s the way the rear should really look. Note the drain piece where the hood connects to the body — that is from a CJ-3A. And, last but not least, the Dash Plate is installed upside down and backwards …

“You are looking at a Real nice 1950 Jeepsteer. She has a rebuilt Overhead engine and manual transmission! Give me a call so we can talk about how we can make my car yours. I feel that my price of $7,5,000.00 is very fair for a collector car like this one with the potential that this car has.”

Here’s a good looking flattie with a fiberglass body. This might be a good price.
“the jeep has a 4 cyc ford motor 3 speed trans. 4×4 all works good the body is fiberglass all in good shape has a heater late steering gear box highway gears”
This also includes a rebuildable MB/GPW of some sort. No pictures of that.
“1948 CJ2A Willys Jeep in excellent shape. Ready to drive away or pull with attached tow bar. This price includes one more rebuildable older (1942) model.”
Looks ready to roll.
“3,500 miles on complete restoration, 283 v8 with automatic, 33×11.5×15 tires and rims, also has original rims with new tires (like spare). Restoration professionally done. Asking $14,900 or best offer. Email or call with questions. 507-829-5528”
UPDATE: Mathew noted this is still for sale.
(06/22/2010) This looks pretty nice, though something unusual has been done to the hood. There are 2 bolts/rivets on both sides of the hood that seem to warp it slightly. There is also a motor issue.
“Real nice old jeep. was restored about 10 years ago. Body is in great shape… didn’t require any patchwork. Interior was PROFESSIONALLY Rhino Lined. Not the cheap imitation stuff. Completely new wiring harness, 12 volt. New Gauges. New seats, new upholstery, new rear seat. New Tires. All new switches. New brakes, New heater. No expense spared. Everything was gone through, and it has less than 5000 miles on it since completion. Needs some motor work / new motor depending on how handy you are. An exhaust seat let loose on the number 3 cylinder. Didn’t do any damage to the motor, but it needs a new one pressed in. I’m not handy enough, nor do I have the time to do the work. Top end is off the motor. Winch not included. Comes with a rollbar, new bikini top.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200
(02/20/2010) Looks good.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000
(03/22/2010) Nice, very nice. But, it does need the floor boards replaced due to the transmission install. It’s unclear just how much work is required.
“1954 Willys CJ 3B highhood with the following: Chevy 327, 4bbl, high torque starter, headers, new clutch, newly rebuilt SM465 4-spd with “granny low”, Advance Adaptors to a rebuilt Dana 18 transfer case with upgraded intermediate shaft, Warn overdrive, new drivelines fr/r, Dana 44 front and rear with Detroit lockers, 4-wheel disk brakes, tilt steering, full cage, bikini and full top, racing bucket seats and 5 point harness, custom front bumper with receiver mount for portable Warn winch. (winch not included), towbar, 33″ (?) Swampers on American Racing wheels, Warn locking hubs front, upgraded axel shafts (forget brand)……red….Hummm…. That’s all I can think of right now. It looks great and everything works. Only thing it needs is the floor boards replaced from transmission swap. Have the floor boards.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $8800
(08/13/2010) This looks great.
