Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This old Jeep has an unusual paint job.
“About as original as it get. Has been setting, but a new battery, a little carb work and a repacking of the wheel bearings and you can peel its cloths off and enjoy the coming warm weather. Lotts of extra part included at that price.”

“54 Willys powered by a Ford 289. It has a 3 speed with a Dana overdrive, a new 4 core radiator and a new carb. It runs well and is a blast to drive. The rubber is in almost new condition and if you do get stuck the Warn winch will pull you out. It has a bikini top so if your going to drive it in the winter you best be a tough one. This is a good looking CJ-3B with unusual striping.
“You are bidding on a beautiful original 1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B. Black plate California jeep. This jeep runs very good with no oil consumption or leaks. The only rust is on the front fender where it meets the grill and the tailgat has a crack where the spare tire carrier used to be as seen in the pictures. It has a new clutch and pressure plate installed last year. The top is almost new with one small tear in the passenger door that happened when it was hauled to Arkansas from California in 2009. It also has a canopy top in good shape for those warm summer days. All 3 seats show some wear but have no rips or tears. The speedometer does not work the needle is broken off in the gauge. It has chrome rims and good street tires. The engine, transmission, twin stick transfer case and third members are all in good shape with easy shifting and no strange noises. New brakes were installed in 2009. The jeep comes with a tow bar for towing behind your motorhome. I have owned this jeep for over 10 years and bought it from a friend who used it on his horse ranch. “Very cool driver>>>>all original drive train and still runs like new. This is a good project or keep as is and use as a slow driver. No speed demon here as this was designed as a work horse with top speed around 50 mph. This is a good 20 footer and is a lot of fun. It comes almost complete to get it back on the road again , it has all running gear except transmission/ transfer case and a steering column. We are including a running nice Buick v-6 motor. “Beautiful 1955 Willy’s Street Rod. This is one of the nicest delivery sedans that you will see. Everything redone on it. All the modern comforts for today’s driving. Chevy 350 engine with 4 barrel carb. 350 automatic transmission, power front disk brakes, power steering. Tilt steering column, in dash CD stereo, custom gauges. Custom interior. Runs and drives very nice, smooth and fast.No issues. Custom dual exhaust, new wiring and brakes. The Willy’s is rust free with the exception of a few small bubbles starting to show on the lower part of the drivers door.”

UPDATE: This jeep has been for sale for about a year. It was on ebay recently and is now back on Craigslist at a lower price. It was located in Eugene (hence the Oregon Ducks reference), but now is in Santa Clara (apparently).

I gotta say I like this jeep. There’s enough old school stuff to make me smile. Check out the battery, the roll cage, the art on the back, the dashboard, the gauges, the gas pedal … I could go on.
The owner of this jeep is 16 year old Trevor, who inherited it from his father. Trevor’s going to make some updates to this jeep, such as adding power steering. He asked for some advice regarding steering so naturally I asked for pictures.
Trevor wrote, “thanks so much for your time and advice! it really means a lot to me cause i wanna get this thing out on the trails like my dad did back in day.”

“This is a right hand drive mail jeep. It has a 1985 Chevrolet 4.3 liter v-6 engine that was completely rebuilt in September 2003 and only has 33,300 miles on it. It also has a heavy duty turbo 400 automatic transmission. It has been well maintained and is in good running order. Has brand new front brakes, the oil was just changed, and it has good tires. Its load capacity is 58.2 cubic feet. Asking $ 1800 O.B.O”

This jeep is part of a package that includes a travel trailer and jet skis. I haven’t seen too many CJ-3B drag jeeps.

The seller lists this as a ’49. It’s not, but with the 5 gauges, it is an earlier (pre Nov 1956 CJ-3B). Motor seized.
“Motor rebuilt 5 years ago, have all the original paperwork. Jeep has been sitting for 4 years; motor locked up. Body clean, no rust new fuel tank, foam filled tires.

“One 1945 Willys Jeep Cj-2A up for sale. I bought this jeep for my father, but his location no longer allows for this type of vehicle. The jeep is in need of restoration, but is nearly ready to drive. The jeep has a brand new set of tires. The stickers haven’t even worn off of them. They have approximately 30 yards of mileage on them. There is also a new starter installed. The engine turns over, and spark is good. It is not running due to a probable timing issue. It backfires, but doesn’t start yet. This jeep is in need of a new wiring harness, along with various and sundry repairs. The frame is good, the drive system appears to be in running order, although with some use it will probably need some seals and gaskets to be replaced. The tub has quite a bit of rust, as is normal with a 1940’s jeep. The tailgate and windshield frame fold (no glass in the windshield though), and the attached towbar is usable….”
It appears in pretty good shape.
