(04/17/2017) Looks like a Sears hardtop rather than an arctic top.

“This 1951 M-38 Willys Jeep and hard top is for sale at $4600.00 cash obo; buyer responsible for transportation.

Excellent body, original 4 cylinder flat head, aluminum artic top and frame for soft side.

Title History: US Government then two private owners. The title is in storage to avoid past license fees.

This Jeep is designed to accommodate an extension for the air intake and exhaust (snorkel). This feature is for off-loading from a landing craft into the water. I do not have the snorkels.

It’s designed for two 12 volt batteries. The only rust spot on this jeep is at the bottom of the battery storage area located on the fire wall, in front of the passenger seat.

The front windshield folds down.

I have O&M Manuals and log books from the military.

All original parts to my knowledge. I have the original tires and wheels. I recovered the front two seats.

I haven’t started the original motor since 1990. It did run when I parked it. Always stored inside.

The aluminum artic hard tops sell for $1500.00.

These jeeps are very popular in the western mountains for travel and tourism.

Please see attached pictures. Additional pictures upon request.

These “restored” military jeeps command $25,000.00 purchasing fees for private collectors and museums. Fun to drive and very popular!”

I called this guy when this was first posted and offered him his asking price. He then said that he was talking to two other guys and wanted to see what they were going to pay. He called back and asked if I would “out bid” them. That’s when I walked away from it. It might be sold and he didn’t take down the post.
