I own this jeep now and it looks exactly the same now “2023” as it did in these photos! The Jeep went from Ca. to Nm. now it’s followed me to Ar. where I bought it, as I moved here from Ca. in 1981. I was doing some research on the hard top when I ran across this ad, weird! Still trying to find info on this hard top, any help would be appreciated.

    Damon,

Thanks for the note. If you examine the back, it looks very similar to the Meyer (or Orville) hardtop for CJ-5s (see this rear photo http://www.ewillys.com/2021/03/26/the-meyer-hardtop-built-by-orroville/). The hinges, rear windows, gutter near the top, and height above gutter all looking Meyer-ish.

Also, note the slight overhang of the top in front of the windshield. This would be expected on a non-shortened Meyer top using a CJ-2A windshield.

Meanwhile the sides look customized, maybe through the use of custom doors or repurposed and modified Cab Enclosure doors (http://www.ewillys.com/?s=cab+enclosure).

    That’s my best guess,

    – Dave
