UPDATE: Now on eBay
(09/28/2011) This has a variety of updates.
“Completely rewired with an Enos wiring kit, batt relocated in the rear, great bucket seats up front with driver seat adjustable so any size person can drive comfortably (I’m a big guy)
a custom rear bench seat with 3 sets of lap belts for the Grand kids. Given Corvette chromium yellow paint, a black and white striped bikini top this little jeep has a show stopper attitude. In 6 years since this project was completed. I have put exactly 512 miles on it. All hauling kids over to 7-11 for slurpees – well its not far to 7-11.
Always garage kept and never once yet taken off road, that ‘s why it looks the way it does today.
If you don’t want to have people point and stare this is not for you. This jeep draws as much attentionas my street rods. Its so sweet the kids used it to pulled the Bonanza High School freshman float at their homecoming this year. I want to go off roading with my son and his rock crawler. It would be a sin to cut this up into a rock crawler.
Jeep 51 Willys totally stock running gear completely rebuilt and replaced from the pressure plate to the tips of the new Warn hubs. 3 Speed T-90 transmission, T-18 transfer case and both Dana 44 axles have been completely gone through and rebuilt with new bearings and seal. 11″ brakes were added and fireawall mounted brake pedal new gas tank and gauges. I have $4000 worth of receipts from Back Country Products for the running gear rebuild. The motor is a 1955 Corvette 265 small block Chervy – very rare only 700 Corvettes built in 1955.
Lot of notalgia with this one. Edellbrock 650 4BBl carberator with automatic choke, Malloy coil and distrilbutor, this thing starts quick and purrs like a kitten. This motor NEVER HEATS UP even in our hottest weather, wish I could say that of the street rods I have builts.Serious person can call Brian 714-608-2330”

“This is a dry Montana vehicle that was clearly kept out of the weather for most of its life, and the body is in remarkably good shape (we don’t salt our roads in Montana, so rust is not an issue as it is many other places). Many of the parts that make the CJV-35 unique are still on the Jeep, including dash plates, rear lift rings, front hooks, hood snorkel cutout, headlight rings, and the specially-notched gas tank. The jeep appears to have had one repaint in a civilian green, and US government markings can be seen poking out from below (see photos). It looks like it was in use as an US Interior Department vehicle after its time in the Marines, but no other history is known. The motor has been replaced with a good-runing 1960’s era Buick (?) V6, but the rest of the driveline appears stock. The jeep runs and drives well, has good civilian tire on it, and good seats (are these even original, perhaps in black vinyl for the underwater driving?). Brakes, steering, suspension, tranny, 4 wheel drive all work well.
Any interested parties are encouraged to look at the jeep in person and drive it. All questions via email will be answered promptly. We have attempted to take as many high-res photos as possible so that the condition of the jeep can be assessed. This is sold “AS-IS” and “WHERE-IS”, and absolutely no warantees are made concerning the vehicle or its condition, either expressed or implied.
Again: restoring a military jeep is a wonderful but time and money-consuming task. If you’re going to make the investment, WHY NOT RESTORE THE BEST AND RAREST? One thing’s for sure – you will be the only one in your club with a CJV-35. Thanks for bidding and good luck!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $200

“I have a 1953 Willy Jeep CJ3A for sale. “She” is in need of a good home, will need some restoration work and TLC. Has original inline 4 cylinder “Go Devil” engine, T90 transmission, Model 18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle, and Dana 44 rear axle. Transmission is in good working order, not sure if it has ever been replaced or re-built. Frame and suspension are in outstanding condition. Has rust but mostly surface rust. The entire body is present and most appears to be original. Windshield frame has been replaced and or modified but still maintains original glass. Some panels’ need replacing like running boards and inner fender wells. Cab floors are in good condition for the age. Tail gate is fully functional and original. Seats are original and in need of some repair, the fuel tank has been replaced as well as the carburetor and plug wires. Has whole dash nothing missing. Motor does turn over and will run with the help of fuel being added to carburetor, fuel pump needs repair but fuel lines are good. Also have the original hard top (Aluminum) with doors. All glass present however doors do function and windows slide freely. Not currently registered, however can be, title is clear and I have the original. Will also trade for a 6×12 enclosed trailer that is in good shape and has a side door and rear ramp. Cash purchase only please, or trade.”
