“Selling a 1961 Willys cj5 jeep. This was a project and still needs some things finished. It was intended to build and keep. Plans have changed and this needs to go. Has been converted to a small block Chevy block numbers show it to be from the early 60’s chevy nova 283ci. Engine was removed and resealed with new torquer cam and aluminum intake. Has edelbrock carb on it now but is way to rich for the engine. Brand new small cap hei distributer. Has three speed manual transmission with twin stick transfer case. New battery, Fresh paint, bed lined inside tub. Complete brand new wiring harness from American auto wire. New fender flares, tires are near new condition.
Passenger seat has small tare. New custom aluminum half doors. New fuel tank mounted under the rear of the jeep instead of under driver seat. New CD player and speakers. Needs front driveline welded up and installed along with seat belts. Brakes need bleed again. Has bikini top and tube rear bumper that’s not pictured. Also have a spare tire and wheel and handy man jack that can go with. I’m sure I’m missing other stuff. I drive it around the house and it drives ok. With a little more work it could be a great jeep. Clean Colorado title in my name. Great winter project. Asking $4000”
No pics provided. It’s most likely a CJ-3B, CJ-5, CJ-6 or M-38A1.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.
(09/19/2017) Seller will sell all three for $4500. Seller mistakenly labels the CJ-5s ad CJ-3Bs.
“For sale here are three Willy’s Jeeps. These were inherited from my grandfather, then from my father. My grandfather had partially restored the 47 and 57, but they were nowhere near complete when he passed. The work he did on them is almost 20 years old at this point. He was also the world’s worst about titles. I have titles from the previous owner, before my grandfather, for the 47 CJ-2A, and the 57 CJ-3B. The 53 CJ-3B has no title. All will be sold as-is, with a bill of sale. Outdated copies of titles go with the two that have them. I would like to sell all three as a package, but am willing to part with each one individually. $4,500 if sold as a hat trick. Price is somewhat negotiable, but don’t bother lowballing. Details for each are below.
1947 Willy’s CJ-2A: The most well taken care of, of the three, with all parts intact except the seats and windshield glass. Was about 60% restored when my grandfather set it aside. No through-rust or other major rust that I am aware of. Frame is solid, body tub and fenders are solid, engine and driveline are intact and original, suspension is also intact. I was told it needs a complete wiring harness and a lot of TLC to be able to turn the key and have it start. Asking price is $1,500.00.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,000
I’m digging this jeep, but only because it is an ex CF&I jeep (family history related).
“For sale is a 1957 Jeep Willys CJ-5. This example is a Colorado Native and spent most of its life in Pueblo clearing Snow at the CF&I Steel plant. It was purchased by a welder there, restored and used. I am the 3rd owner. 90% of this is all original with the exception of the tub and some misc parts. (roll bar, tail lights, hubs etc) All items work as they should with minor exceptions. Interior is in excellent shape, exterior is in very good shape. Chassis is also in excellent shape. Engine is running very well, smooth with no hiccups. Clutch is new, breaks were redone last fall. (shoes, master cylinder, wheel cylinders,) pertronix igniter, new ballast resistor.
I use this to plow a driveway and have used it hunting. Be prepared that this vehicle is not made for speed. It tops out at about 40mph on the road. I also have some service manuals and other literature that will be included with the vehicle as well as my parts collection.
In the pictures, you see; a hylift jack & mounts, jerry cans & mounts, and a gun rack installed, these are NOT included with the purchase of this vehicle.
SERIOUS, RESPECTFUL inquires will be responded to. I don’t need help selling it. I have a clear title so if you would like to take a look please let me know.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
Jim spotted this early CJ-5.
“Runs well, shifts fine and is fun to drive. The 4 wheel drive engages ( have not used ). Paint is likely more than 20 or years old. Old bondo in rear corners, some rust in floor braces, front floor has repairs, some bubbling under old paint (Orig color was green), small dents, but for a 62 year old unrestored Willys Jeep it isn’t bad. This is a Willys that has been used it’s entire life (not a garage queen). Has a North Carolina (VIN Number) bonded title. So it is ready to drive or restore.
Body fair. Runs fine. Fun to drive. Brakes, Lights, Turning Lights, Horn, Emergency Brake all work. Always attacks attention. Priced Right. Speedometer not working right. 63434 probably not correct.”
These 2 jeeps will be auctioned next Saturday. No good pic of the CJ-5 provided.
“For auction to highest bidder, no reserves. Estate Auction 36401 Hwy 160, Mancos, CO on September 30 at 10 am”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4150.
This could be worth a look. Has an early 0-10 speedometer.
“Here’s your chance to own a classic piece of history! This little jeep is in pretty decent condition and runs like a top with it’s original 134ci 4 cylinder engine and 3spd transmission…
It’s bright yellow paint with black trim has garnered the name “Bumble Beep” and it definitely grabs some stares when people see it! It is a very solid southern tub and frame that looks to have been restored 15-20 years ago but does have a few rust bubbles starting on the fenders. The 4×4 drive-train is good and solid which all seems to work as it should and drives much better than you would expect from this type of vehicle!
This would make a GREAT wagon for the hunter heading to the not so accessible areas or to hook behind your motorhome and head to the mountains on vacation! It has it’s original bench seat, all the lights and signals work along with the unmistakable jeep horn “BEEP BEEP”…….. It has the spare mounted to the side and the G.I. can on the rear which can come in handy out in the Boonies! The only thing that I can say doesn’t work is the fuel guage…
If your tired of looking at the junk out there but would really like to have an old jeep from this era then you really need to take a look at this little fun wagon that’s ready to get in and ENJOY!!!”
Looks in good shape. Has a Kelly Hardtop.
