UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
I’m not sure if this is still for sale or not. What caught my eye, was that strange item attached to the front of the bumper. Anyone know what that is?
“VIN number 66800”
Well, the price is good for a running jeep (well, was running before removing the transmission), but ‘it’s all original except for the engine’? Yeah, right …
“I have for sale a 1952 Jeep Willys M38 that is all original except the motor. This jeep is a project! It doe’s run though,I’ve been driving it around while working on it.It does have a problem with the transmission,so I removed it to be repaired, and found that it just had a bad input shaft bearing & never had the time to finish it.The four wheel drive is good also.Just need the money right now, so all reasonable
offers will be considered! Please contact Zack @ 229-630-2954 for more info. and thanks for looking!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
The GPW looks in the best condition, followed by the M-38 (incorrectly listed as a CJ-3A) and then the CJ-3A.
“I am selling my hobby because of a line of duty accident that has left me with no other option. these jeeps were bought at an estate auction and they only have a bill of sale, because they have always been government owned before the last owner. The CJ3A was started on a off frame overhaul and the body was set back on to sell. The GPW is as I purchased it they both ran and drove off the trailer. the last one is just parts. thank you for your interest, this pains me to do this but I have no other choice.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500
It’s got some issues, but unclear what they are.
“1952 Willys-M38 Jeep. Water proof, posi traction ,hotwater heaterkit, with /brz foring kit ,runs and drives well. Does need a little tlc but worth the price.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500
“I have a 52 willys jeep that I bought to restore and drive but ran out of time and money and I am tired of seeing it rust away. I never tried to start it because the guy I bought it from had started to do the wiring. He said that the motor ran but that was three years ago. Jeep is full of parts and pretty much all there. It only has the drivers seat frame and I have 5 almost new military tires and rims for it. Please make offer because I would like to see someone finish this. It also comes with an extra front and rear axle.”
This doesn’t run and looks pretty rough. The Wagon is for sale for $1250 as well.
“I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A 1952 M38 WILLYS MILITARY JEEP. THE BODY DATA PLATE SAYS SERIAL NUMBER IS MC-59863. THERE IS NO TITLE WITH THIS JEEP. IT HAS THE FOLLOWING ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT: THREE SEAT FRAMES, TRANSFER CASE, TRANSMISSION, MC 80403 ENGINE, BRASS DATA PLATE ON DASH, TWO AXE BRACKETS, WINDSHIELD FRAME, HOOD, TUB, FENDERS, GRILL, TAILGATE, SEVERAL FOOTMAN LOOPS AND OTHERS. IT HAS A CJ5 DIRTY GAS TANK, CIVILIAN 15 INCH WHEELS, AVM LOCKOUT HUBS, SPRINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ALL GAGES HAVE BEEN REPLACED( I DON’T KNOW IF ANY OF THESE WORK) THIS JEEP HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO 12 VOLTS. THE ENGINE HAS A CRACK AROUND THE CENTER HEAD BOLT STUD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. IT COMES WITH A VOLKSWAGEN CARB. TURNS OVER, BUT I HAVE NOT STARTED IT, I BELIEVE THE CIVILIAN DISTRIBUTOR IS WORN … willysm38@sbcglobal.net”
It’s too bad this doesn’t run. I like how rough it looks.

The seller lists this as a 1945 jeep, but it looks more like a M-38 based on the windshield and the grille (both headlight bezels and holes below the bezels. This is located in Oxford Station, Ontario, Canada.
“Willys Jeep I think is it a 1945 it runs good 4×4 work great! comes with a plow and a parts jeep. If you have any questions feel free to email me”
This is a CJ-3A that’s been nicely altered into a M-38 clone.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000
There’s been a variety of upgrades on this jeep.
“… When we first got this jeep, it was in pretty rough shape and close to 100 holes were filled in on the body from various things being mounted/removed over the years (blackout lights, etc etc) Virtually all of the work to it was done by either myself, my stepbrother, or a pro shop. I cant remember exactly how many miles are on it “after build”, but I’m guessing the motor/rebuilt tranny has about 5k, the brake system (entirely replaced at time of conversion) about 2k, tires about 2k. again, this is a toy that was hardly ever used.
Here’s the parts list: Chevy 305 HO from a mid 80’s Camaro Z28 installed by Joe White’s Performance Automotive (THE place to go back in the day) motor had to be canted and fenders pushed out to make fit. remote oil and fuel filters, extra griffin aluminum racing radiator we never installed comes with it. the motor had less than 500 miles on it when we got it, Corvette clutch and pressure plate in 3 speed manual transmission, factory twin stick transfer case, custom rear drive shaft with CV joint built by Austin Drive Train, factory dana 25 front axle with Warn premium hubs, factory dana 30 rear axle with Detroit Locker, 5.13 gears front/rear, 11″ drum brake conversion all the way around (now it stops right!) with new master cylinder at time of install …..”
(08/26/09)
“46 willys low hood cj3a jeep. new paint forest green. sbc400 w/turbo 400 auto trans and dana 20 trans case. dana 44 rear end, disc brake 30 front end. springs off 76 cj outside of frame in the back. re-inforced frame, power steering, bucket seats, back seat, 33×12.5×15 tires with about 85-90 % tread.MSD ignition,4 core radiator, new dual exhaust, bedliner inside, dual tanks,cb,cd player with marine cover, sealed beam led taillights. jeep is loaded and way cheaper than u could ever build. very nice. Never had a top on other than bikini top. keywords cj, jeep, willys, low hood,”
This looks good.
“Jeep is in excellent running condition. Remanifactured carb. New brake wheel cylinders and new master cylinder. Relined gas tank. Engine and transmissions in excellent condition. Military tires with spare. Many new parts.”
It looks good, but the image compression makes the body look rough.
“1951 Willys M38 World War II Army Jeep. Parade quality. 30 cal. resin machine gun for looks. Drives and runs good. Call for more information or to see (608) 362-3267.”
