From what I could find these were released around Feb, 13 1948 (<<<<< edit, I had 47 here, thanks Barry for making me doible check that), here is a clipping from the Detroit paper.
Also here is a clipping from 1948 for an Ad for a 1948 Jeep with a Monroe Lift and just about everything but a kitchen sink. 8-2-1948

Yes I fully get the CJ2A was not made in 1950, but as we know it’s possible the title work and sale was done in 1950. My motto is if the title says it’s a 1950, well who is to argue. But really with something this old anything could have been added along the way, Jeep Salads are very common. Also makes no mention of a title in the ad, so may need to do some homework.

First the windshield 2 piece is a CJ2A, the 3A is 1 piece. But those are interchangeable.
Ignition switch on the right side.
The 2A drivers seat bracket has that slight downward slope vs the more 90 deg the 3A has.
Then this has the bow storage on the outside of the drivers rear quarter. CJ2A had this the 3As did not.
Some other features I like on this one…….
This rig has some great Patina to it, it could be a really fun project.
Has a top bow.
Wheels look period correct. Not going to have the period correct air in the LF, but can’t have everything.
Don’t miss that rear PTO!

“47 Willy’s cja2. Runs great, drives fine. Stills needs work but I have driven this all over the desert out by Kuna. It’s slow, according to gps I’ve done 38mph. It is set up to tow. It’s mostly all original. It’s the 134ci flat head. I put and electric fuel pump in it. It does have the oil bath air filter, I just put on the other filter for convenience. $6000 obo. Some trade maybe considered but cash is best”
Listed as a 1942 VEC, I don’t see anything from 1942 nor from a VEC model.

“1946 cj2a engine is rebuilt with new cam and lifters, bored with new pistons, crank was turned,valves regroups and everything else that goes with a rebuild. I got this out of a clean dry garage where it had been since 1981. I have all the parts to put it back together that are not in pics. Radiator, generator, starter, carb , full exhaust some of it is new. My next move was to do brakes and engine components. This Jeep has a rare Sears and Roebuck hardtop kit from the 60sinstalled on it. I have two extra engines and some other parts that I will sell after the Jeep goes. Price is $6500. “This is my dad’s 1947 Willy’s CJ2A. He put an original military grill on it, bolted on simulated body armor, and installed military wheels and a pedestal mount for a completely fake, but very realistic all steel 1917 machine gun model (not included unless you buy the 1917 also). He used this jeep for WW2 reenactments, mainly in the 1980s and early 1990s. He recently passed and we are selling it. It was last driving in 2018 when it was parked and does not currently run.
Frame is good needs body work. I assume the purchaser will unbolt and remove the fake armor (wood) and restore it. I will include the original 7 slot grill and headlight assembly and the original tailgate. I will also include the original passenger seat, which will need to be redone. There is no title and my dad has owned this jeep since the early 1970s. It was always garaged. $3200 or best offer. Yes, the 1917 reproduction model is available. It is a model, it is not real, nor does it function in any way. It’s a dummy.”
The chassis has front frame horns, so this might not be a CJ-3B chassis.

“Sadly due to financial woes I have to part with my Willy’s Jeep project. I have been saving it to restore and sell to raise money for a camp for troubled youth, but I just don’t have anymore personal resources to support this mission. Strong engine and transmission. It was running and driving around the block up here last year, but I recommend a mechanic tune it up before trying to move it any distance. I had all new brake lines installed. I have several boxes of parts as I was in the middle of upgrading the 6volt system to 12volts and changing out the lights to support that system. Also comes with a brand new radiator ready to be installed. Located in Conifer 80433. I DO have the title for this one. I also have a 1953 Dodge M37 from the Caribou Ranch recording studio available.
