Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I am selling my 46 willys cj2a flat fender. It has a chevy 283 v8 in it, t90 transmission, dana 18 transfer case, dana 25 front, and i’m not sure on the rear axle. The motor fires up and runs great and its driveable with working brakes and clutch, however the vehicle needs some work. The Water pump leaks bad and needs replacement, the t-case leaks oil and could use a new t-case input shaft bearing (little noisy at higher speed), also needs a front drive shaft. Other than those bigger issues just general upkeep like going over lights, brakes, and making sure everything it secured properly before trusting it for a trip and also fixing the windshield. I haven’t owned it that long so can’t tell you too much on it’s background, but safe to say it was someone’s hunting rig and they plated the back end of the body from the gas tank back. It looks pretty good actually and wouldn’t dent in easily when wheeling and gave a solid mount for the gas can holders and ice chest rack on the back. It also has a small back seat with storage underneath. I have a clean non-op title so no worries there.”

“1947 cj2a in running driving condition but currently has no brakes. Go devil engine that runs pretty good,no major leaks. Fires right up. Aftermarket solix carburator. Transmission and transfer case in working order. Has after market hubs as well. Does have rust in hat channels and other body issues but in repairable shape. Newer reproduction gas tank under non original seat. The frame seems to be in really good shape. Stock axels front and rear.This is a good start for restoration. Comes with California pink slip. $2500 cash or trade for 12v cummins nv4500 truck/parts for crew cab Chevy swap”

The wheels are 32 bolt allied Beadlocks . Has a disk brake conversion on front axle with wilwood remote reservoir . Warn m8000 on front .rear main seal is leaking that’s the only leak on it . also comes with cj style roll cage hoop if you don’t want to run cage.”

“For sale, 1 of a kind Willy’s rock crawler. Stretched body, custom box tube frame, full cage built out of dom. Chevy 350 motor runs great, new th350 trans and np205 tcase. Sway away 2.5×14″ dual rate coil overs, hybrid Cherokee/ wrangler rear leaf pack. 16 gallon fuel cell, autometer gauges, 4:88 gears and locker in back. All parts on this are new and only seen one trip to the desert. Moving out of state and can’t take it with me. Never got around to registering it but I do have a vin tag for it. ”
Includes an extra engine with Dana 20 TC & PTO.
“CJ2A, needs work (as always). I THINK it’s a ’46. No title, just apply for a bonded title.
V6 motor, no transmission/transfer case installed but comes with a spare V6 motor/transmission/transfer case ready to install.
Body has surface rust but is much more solid than 90% of them. Any holes have been cleanly patched.
Has a spring-over conversion, power steering unit, later axles (AMC 20 and open-knuckle Dana 30).
Was somebody else’s project I acquired, so I don’t know much more than that. Needs assembly/finishing.”

“Willis Jeep for restore or parts. Not knowledgeable enough to tell you model or year of jeep just guessing about 1942. Listed it last year for sale and too many jeep enthusiasts convinced me to keep it and restore it like I had always wanted to. I appreciated their encouragement and well wishes but a year has passed and it sits in the same spot.
Since my chickens sit in it more than I do I figured it must go. It may only be good for parts now.
I do not have the time to commit to the project and hope someone that does will want to tackle this one. I do not know where the title is for it. I bought it from overseas. Asking $2500 OBO.”

“1948 CJ 2 A for sale. Titled at a 48 but has older body. Was told it is mid-40s. Has 4-134 flat head engine. 4 wheel drive. In low low this thing will go through anything. New Solex carburetor, fuel pump, fuel regulator and HEI distributor. Runs and drives. Great restoration project. I have too many projects going and need to sell this one.”

(05/13/2015) “1946 Jeep Willy’s CJ2-A. It has a 327 Chevrolet under the hood with full sized axles. 3:73 gearing front and rear. Full roll bar. 5 ppint harnesses in racing seats. It’s not perfect but it is an awesome ride. 85% tread on 33″ BF mud terrain tires, including a spare that is 100% tread. Motor is strong and runs great. I hate to get rid of it but I am moving across the country and can’t afford to bring it with. 4,000 OBO..”
