Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a great project rig . First off this Jeep does not run and drive! Will need to be trailered away or use the tow bar. Has a Buick V6 that needs to be replaced. The short block it still in the rig. Comes with Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Edelbrock 4bbl carb,Edelbrock valve covers,HEI distributer,Stainless headers,Aftermarket aluminum radiator and motor accessories . Manual transmission . The Jeep has been lifted and sits on 35inch BFG’s w/ aluminum rims. Has nice Pro car front bucket seats and back seat . Was a running and driving rig 3yrs ago until it had engine failure . Great project !”

(11/27/2015) Plenty of rust. Doesn’t shift into reverse.
“Running original Jeep Cj2a with clean title.
This has the rare factory optional bed extender.
We rebuilt the carb and started right up after 15 years of sitting in a barn.
It ran and drove but last time i started it in did not want to go into reverse. This has the column shifter so i suspect the issue is in the linkage.
I bought this to restore but no longer have the facility to do the restoration.
Would really love to see this go to a good home .
This is a rare Jeep that is still pretty solid. Worst rust is on the passenger side back corner.
Frame has surface rust but is also solid.

It’s rough, but runs.
“I have owned this for 10 yrs. it has been garaged. Convereted to 12 volt. I rebuilt the engine. Bored,new pistons,rings,rod and main bearings, new water pump, new fuel pump. Cut valve seats and ground valves, lapped each valve. Rebuilt original carburetor, new one wire alternator. Replaced 2nd gear and installed bearing kit in transmission. Glass beaded wheels, new non directional tires. I fabricated back seat from a bus. Rewired with new headlight switch. Recently replaced bellcrank,front brakes,wheel cylinders,king pin bearings,all rubber brake lines, “S” metal brake lines. Speedometer doesn’t work. Stick got caught on cable and broke it. I have used it to go to the river in the summer time. Goes good , stops good. Body is typical of these old Jeeps. Rough. I have not done any repairs to it.Call or text . No trades. No scammers. “For sale or trade: 1947 Willys 4WD CJ-2A project Jeep. Its original flathead 4 cylinder engine appears to be locked up as it has been sitting for over 30 years. It rolls and steers. I took out the drive shaft as the gear shift seems to be stuck. Previous owner of 30+ years believes it was a Navy Jeep. Lots of sheet metal rust so check out the photos carefully. Frame appears to be solid. Have clear Kentucky title. Asking $1200 obo. Note: a replacement 4cyl flathead engine may be available.”

“Toyota axles Wrangler spring over. Vortec v6 runs on propane. Detroit locker in the front, spool in the rear. 529 gears. It has cutting brakes, and front digs. Bobby Long bead locks. Good tread on 35 inch swampers.
Warn winch.
For an extra $1400 I will throw in the trailer that hauls it to the trails, the trailer has a 6000 pound Ramsey winch on it.
The Willy’s Jeep and trailer are both licensed and street legal.
I would love to keep this Jeep, but I need money for another project.”

Not all stock, as it’s got a different steering column, its missing the parking break, the rear bow holder is gone, the rear wheel wells have been cut, and new bumpers have been added. Looks ready for some desert driving.
