Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. Mostly original. Has flanged axel rear end with posi. Original flat head 3 speed 5.38 geared. 31 10.50 tires. Seats have been recovered it has been repainted. It has a CJ-3A windshield on it right now. It also has a custom made sun top. This is a trail jeep it does have a few minor scratches. Would consider trade for slide in camper.”

“Purchased this Willys CJ-2A in 1978 and have plowed driveway snow with this incredibly reliable vehicle, with a 1977 Meyer 4-way plow, for 43 years. Some body damage left rear, some leaks- rear differential, transfer case, and transmission. Circulating water heater, new Firestone original style jeep tires, canvas/plastic doors, rebuilt starter, 1 yr old battery, newer chains for two tires, converted to 12V to accommodate Meyer plow”

“Early civilian Willys Jeep in rough shape. Parts, project, wall art, yard art, Rat, the choice is yours. Has rust holes but it’s not a salty rot box. Floors have been patched all around. What you see is what I have. No title. Might be able to help with that for expenses,but you would need to help me confirm year and model and serial location correctly so I don’t have it wrong. It has been updated to the V6 dauntless engine, has Warn hubs, a Warn overdrive, a Ramsey 6000 lb power takeoff winch, Mickey Thompson wheels, soft winter cover with doors and a Sumer Bimini top. It has a roll bar, an electric parking brake and a clean kansas title in hand. It also has a hot water heater with blower under the rear seat.”

“1948 Willys CJ2A with clean Utah title in hand. The Good: 350 CI Chevrolet Goodwrench crate engine with very few miles, it runs well. Edelbrock Pro-Flo multiport EFI, adapter bellhousing mates to the original manual transmission, transfer case features twin shifters. Clutch is like new, All new brake shoes and wheel cylinders, new wheel bearings and hubs in front axle, and lots of other new parts. AutoMeter gauges all work. Includes a soft top. All fluids are fresh. The Bad: Power steering isn’t connected, unsure if it will work or not. Brakes and clutch are not working, likely a bad master cylinder and possibly a clutch slave cylinder. Some cancer on the floor pan support rails which is common because these were built with wood between the metal in these areas. Otherwise the rest of the body is cancer free. This 1948 CJ2A is a great platform for a rock crawler, sand buggy, or whatever your vision is. The 350 small block Chevy has tons of power for a small, lightweight vehicle like this. You can finish it as is or put the clean body on a custom frame built for whatever you’re in to.”

Bill shared this CJ-2A, serial number 83871 (just barely a ’47).There are only 23 hours left as of this posting. the current price is $500. Check out the engine compartment! Wow, just wow. Given what appears to be a gov data plate on the dash, this was likely modified which ever gov entity owned it. The bumper sure is an odd setup.
