Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Hi there, for sale is my 1947 Willy’s Overland CJ2A. This little jeep has been an awesome vehicle, and doesn’t need much. It has the F-Head Hurricane Willy’s engine that was torn apart and completely gone through, along with the transmission and transfer case. Gaskets and seals were replaced and fresh oil throughout the drive train.
This will start on the first crank even after sitting for a couple weeks.
The differentials have fresh fluid and the manual hubs have been gone through.
The transfer case has a high and low range, and a front diff engage. Three speed transmission.
Newer drum brakes and it stops reasonably well
I drive it all over town and have had it on the freeway for short periods. It will go 50-55 fine, but should probably get some new tires if you plan on long freeway trips.
The Jeep is coated in a Linex type coating that is extremely tough. No rust on the Jeep, any old spots where cut out and repaired by the previous owner.”

“46 Willy’s jeep cj2a. Has a replacement steel body put on at some point,no real rust anywhere. Frame is solid as well,no rust holes anywhere. Has a 4.3 Chevy motor that runs very good,always starts right up. Has an electric fuel pump. Stock trans and transfer case,twin stick. One of the wheel cylinders has a slow leak so needs a little brake fluid once in a while. Seats needs attention,covers and foam,frames are good. The bad part is I don’t have a title or any paperwork at all and can’t get anything. Never been titled in Kentucky is what I was told. Got it from a farmer who’s had it for 30 + years and just used it on his property. Have some extra parts that could possibly go with it.”
This militarized CJ-2A looks solid, but it does have a few unusual features, including the fuel inlet and steps.

“1948 Willys CJ2A for sale. It was restored in the late 1980’s by my father. It has an olive drab paint finish, as well as olive drab canvas upholstery on the seat cushions and backs. My father converted the electrical system from 6 volt to 8 volt. The body tub is custom fabricated from steel. The grill and fenders are original. The hood, windshield frame, and tailgate are all original with the embossed Willy’s name. After the restoration, it was only driven in local parades, car shows and local events. We have stored the jeep under a cloth cover, inside a building since my father passed in 2004. We have recently replaced sparkplugs, points, condenser, fan belt, fuel pump and battery. The fuel tank has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. The carburetor has been rebuilt. It has fresh oil and coolant.”

One is just a frame and the other has the tub although the tub is in pretty rough shape. You will need a trailer and a winch to get these out.

(06/22/2021) Given the front clip, this might be a 3B chassis, though the Parkette body is a low-hood version.
The seller is correct about Paul Parker and the body. But, I believe this is the first version of this particular style that I’ve seen. It lacks the side stripe, has fender extensions, has a little different PARKETTE design on the back, has an extra wide lip around the rear, and looks like it has a side step. Very interesting.

“Rare, rare, rare. 48/49 Willys Jeep with Parkette fiberglass body. Believed only a handful made while Paul Parker was back in Georgia. This one is a bit odd as it doesn’t have the “line” above the fender but it does have flared fenders; the Willys nose panel is original equipment. Not sure it’s on the right size frame at the moment but we do have an original Willys bare chassis on the property we can work into the deal.
Engine/trans present. Very cool project. Needs finishing. No title. Bill of sale only. If the ad is up, the Willys is available.”

“1946 Jeep Willys CJ2A Unknown mileage In the past was used on a farm and kept in a barn. Runs and drives. 4×4 works good. It has been converted to 12 volt system. I have a clean title and license plate I have put on a new high torque starter, NGK coil, spark plugs and wires, battery, fuel filter, etc. Comes with some old parts, 2 universal seats, the original skinny wheels with 3 military tires.
