UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
It hasn’t been started in two years, but is supposed to run.
“This jeep has been in my family for at least 1/2 of its life as well as been garaged during this time. I’ve had it for @ 10 years and my Mom and step-dad had it at their lake house in Nebraska (always garaged, was used to put the boat & jet ski’s into the shore stations), we did joy-ride in the jeep around the lake property but it is not licensed or street legal as it has not been modified. Prior to my Mom & step-dad getting it from my step-dad’s uncle, I am not aware of how long my step-dad’s uncle (now deceased) had the jeep or if he was the original owner. The title only indicates the names of my step-dad’s uncle, my step-dad and now my name.
The tag under the hood on the body indicates the following:
Willy’s Body
CJ-2A 71042
Willys Overland Motors, Inc.
Loledo, OH USA
Kindly note that in the pics I removed the driver’s side seat and gas tank to show the condition of the body as apparently that is where rust through would take place in these jeeps. The jeep does run, however, has not been started for @ 2+ years. The front bumper also has the same VIN number as the body.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
(09/07/2012) This may be a pretty stock jeep, but them boxes across the front sure don’t help.
“I have an original 1947 Jeep Willys CJ-2A for sale. It has been used as a hunting truck for its entire life. It has green paint, power take off (pto) winch, tow bar, mud terrain tires with a lot of tread left, heavy duty snow chains for the tires, and a heater for those cold mornings in the field. The only reason I am selling it, is it belongs to my great uncle and he doesn’t use it anymore because of his age. He has a stack of receipts and paper work for every repair/work done to it. This rig is completely original, right down to the 6v wiring.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.

(10/04/2012) This is supposed to have front and rear PTOs.
“1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A up for sale. It has been converted to a fully operational ranch truck with additional original components. This Jeep has the original, more rare and powerful inline six cylinder engine, 4wd (High/Low), and 2 P.TO. connections (front/rear). The front P.T.O. has a fully functioning Koenig 8,000 lb winch. It currently has a set of A/T 33 x 12.50 tires/wheelset mounted, but the original wheels + spare (5 rims in the original farm red) are included. The jeep has the Willys hood and folding windshield. Mechanically it is pretty much stock with the original motor and transmission, however a Suzuki Samurai steering column was installed as well as a Mico air-lock parking brake (great for winching). Also included are a set of doors, hard top (not matching this jeep/painted) and soft top if you wanted to do a real classic restoration.
I used it on my property for one season, then I took a travelling job so it sat for 7 months. Will be back traveling again and I don’t want it to sit collecting cob webs and dust, she should be used! At one point it was street legal/CA plated, but not anymore. It has a tow bar mounted to the front so trailering it home is not required.
Come take this baby home and own a piece of History. Keep using it as a multi-purpose ranch truck or convert and restore it back into an amazing classic. I can deliver if necessary, depending on mileage and final selling price. Asking $5000 O.B.O and needs to be sold by Oct. 17th. Please call (or text) 925 seven 8 four 5 one 5 zero with any questions you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you and releasing her to a good home”

Robert spotted this great link of Life Magazine Photos. The photos range across the decades, including black/white and color ones. This was photographed by Myron Davis for the July 1945 issue.
Buz spotted this image on Flickr from the North Carolina State archives. You can just make out the tools indents and the front bow holder.

It has no title, but it does have a great service bumper.
“I haven’t had time to work on it so keeping it In my garage is useless. I put a rebuilt carb, new starter and seats in it. It ran before I started digging into it but a little elbow grease will get it going. I bought it 3 years ago this summer but the other owner couldn’t find the title so it still has no title. Call or text 17347320416. Ben is the name”
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**
There is an item I can’t identify on the floor in front of the transmission shifter. Is that some type of heater?
“1948 WILLYS JEEP RUNS GOOD. GOOD TRANSMISSION. I DON’T HAVE MUCH HISTORY ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN LOTS OF PHOTOS SO PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT.”
The engine runs.
“Selling a cj2a that’s between 1946-48 with a homemade tub and a 1948 2a complete body. The replacement body is original, has vin, with the correct tub, windshield, good front end and hood. Has floorboard and hat channel rot under the driver and passenger. Rear floor solid. Has the top’s bow pocket brackets except for one. Lots of extra parts between these two bodies. Will not separate, must take the whole lot. The jeep with the motor will fire up, sounded pretty good, but it has no gas tank and a busted radiator, so we couldn’t keep it running long. It has all the running gear, though the brakes aren’t working. Have two sets of gauges and headlight buckets. No title. Both hoods stamped Willys. Both windshields stamped Willys. Toolbox under seat has correct Jeep script. Both dashes in good shape. Tailgate on replacement body has Willys stamp. 15 inch wheels. New plug wires, new radiator hoses, new oil lines for filter, new filter bracket, electronic ignition conversion kit, loaded calipers and hoses for front disc conversion.”
