Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Meticulusly restored Willys Jeep CJ2A . Complete restoration including professional engine/gearbox/transfer case rebuilds. Total frame off, suspension, body and paint, all completely done. Restoration documentation provided, Owner & workshop manuals provided. New at restoration, 5–vintage Firestone Knobby Truck Tires. Owner fabricated half-cab with doors–period cab heater installed. Restoration completed in 2007, has about 1000 miles on it since restoration. All original restoration except overdrive was added to the gearbox at restoration for better drivability. “Great piece of history in the offering here! This is a 1947 original Willys CJ2A Jeep. The engine is a Willys “Industrial” engine that has been rebuilt (.030″ over) and hasn’t even been broken in yet – maybe 1 mile on it! Has a T90 transmission, with a Dana 18 transfer case that has been gone through and checks out. Gets its’ fuel through a Solex carb and has been converted to 12 volts. Frame and body has been Jasco’d and painted to the correct color of OD green. Has a poly fuel tank and 16″ military tires. This Jeep has no markings yet so you can put your favorite unit designation on it. We tackled this project with the idea to make it a “driver” and to participate in parades and other public events. Being a Jeep, you could use it for whatever your offroad needs might be. This is not a full resto, as the body still shows some “character” which would lend itself to re-enactments or other types of “movie” work. To get this buggy up to speed you will need to wire in new lights and the brakes need to be finished – there are none! The carb could use a cleanup and rebuild, and the motor needs to be broken in per spec. There is also a crack in the passenger side windshield. Surprise of surprises though, we have a clear blue Texas title for this Jeep so it is easily registered and could be inspected for road use.

“I have owned this jeep for about 12 years when i got it the motor was out and the jeep was taken apart i had the motor all redone and put it back it i put all new shocks on it and the body is in pretty good shape theres a little surface rust but know major rust. It has been sitting in the barn for about 5 years now its not running at this time but im sure it wouldnt take much to get it to run i just have to many projects and not enough time to mess with it thats why im only asking $2,200 o.b.o.”

I am owner on record w/ clear Ca. title at my current address. Price is lowered at this site for $2750. Runs. Accererator pump in carb is weak so I usually have to prime it when cold. 4wd works. Most all original except for 12volt electric and front disk brakes.

I have a 1947 Willys jeep cj2a that I am parting out. Or will sell as whole package for the right price. This jeep is on rough condition however if you are in need of a part as little as a bolt. Both of these Jeeps appear in good condition. It looks like the GPW (the jeep pictures at bottom) comes with the some stainless.

“i have a 1948 jeep willys flat fender that i bought in the process of a restoration. this jeep had a ford small block v8 w/ c6 tranny when i bought it, but i made arrangements with the previous owner as he wanted to keep the motor… so, buy a ford v8 and bell housing, and everything will bolt right up and run! this jeep has soa lift started and everything is in place, but perches have not yet been welded, so if you want, you can set suspension back to stock. the frame was sandblasted and repainted by previous owner, and it has custom fabbed rollcage. the jeep’s tub is in great shape with no rust holes or rot, as the jeep is from tennesee where i bought it, however, it will need to be painted. like i said, it had the running ford v8 drivetrain in it, so all the fab and mod work is done, no guesswork needed. call 920-251-2910 and leave message if interested.”

(06/25/2010) “1947 Willys CJ 2A 4 WD Jeep. It is all original, except for the driver’s side side view mirror. It has a4 speed transmission and 4 wheel drive. Due to it’s age, it is being sold As Is with no warranties on it. It has 57,908 original miles on it. Clean and clear title. Runs and drive. The battery is out of it because it was in storage. It can be inspected before buying. It has a new exhaust system, wheel cylinders, gas tank and tail light. It will need some touch up work on the body and interior and new glass on the driver’s side of the windshield.”

(07/10/2010) “I have a Civilian Jeep Willys that was originally going to be a V8 conversion. My Uncle lost interest and purchased another that already had a V6 installed. I have acquired the original project but don’t have the time nor money to do all the projects that I already have going, let alone a Jeep. It will come with two frames, one has work started for the V8 conversion (1946), the other (1947) has all the stock(?) parts installed (engine, trans and differentials.) The body is currently off the Jeep. The body is in pretty good shape for its age. Work has been done on the floors and PORed to repair/replace rust. This Jeep will take some work to put back together, but most, if not everything, is there. The age-old saying goes, it ran when parked, but needed a starter. I imagine by now it will probably also need carburetor work (new seals and gaskets) as it has been a very long time since it has ran.
