(03/10/2016) The gap between the front end of the fenders and grille suggests this is a post 1972 CJ-5 frame.

Rear Axle also has full floating hubs with lockouts. Front axle has disc brakes. 4-speed with granny gear. 2 fuel tanks. It has a CJ5 frame.”

“Time to sell my jeep. Need to down size and will not be able to totally restore as I would like. Been a great jeep that I bought in 2000 and had a lot of fun with. Has been stored in a barn for last 10 years until I had to bring it down to Aurora. Runs good needs some work or would be great original jeep for restoration. “1953 Willys CJ3A. New wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake hoses and lines, Brake shoes and drums like new. New fuel tank, electric windshield wiper, blinkers, cap, rotor wires, plugs and points. 5000 lb. winch. Has aluminum half cab, bucket seats, with good running dauntless 225 V6 engine, dual exhaust, 5:38 axle ratio. 3 speed on floor. Floors and body patch paneled, not pretty but solid. Frame in very good condition. Runs and drives but a work in progress, carb needs replacement, spits and sputters. Tires shot,3 spares w/ good rims.”

“I have a 50’s era Willy’s Jeep in disrepair sitting on some property I purchased. I hate to see it rotting away so anything that’s salvageable from it I would like to sell or just get rid of. I would like to make something on it as I know it does have some value especially the windshield.
What I have is a complete frame with axels tires and wheels, steering wheel, gauges, windshield w/ frame. I live in International Falls, MN but I will be down at my property in another week or so and can get more useful pictures. Make me an offer on what you want. “For sale here is a 1949 Willy’s Jeep. I inherited it from my dad, who had plans for restoring it. Being a student I do not have the funds to restore it. I don’t know much about it other than it was a barn find from Indiana. So it does have some rust damage to the body. It is a rolling chassis. It was fitted for a small block ford engine and transmission. Both of which are still in the chassis. Comes with original Willy’s hood and tailgate. I have also a small block ford long block for it as well. I believe it is the 302 with a roller cam but I honestly have no idea. But the long block was purchased from a ford salvage yard and my dad intended on putting it in the jeep at some point. I will throw in this motor and whatever other parts I have for the Jeep, included in the asking price.”

No registration or title because it’s so old it’s only possible to have a registration but I don’t have the correct one. Runs and drives to a certain extent. It doesn’t run.
“it’s a 1949 cj-3a, motor ran fine before it sat for 3 years. I have kept the hood on and the intake has been covered up the whole time. It has had some starter and brake line work done (brakes are not working).
I recently put on new plugs and changed the oil, but haven’t had time to do much of anything else, that is why I’m selling it.
Overall it is in pretty good shape, definitely would make a solid platform to restore from. Gas tank is ok, as are the seat frames.”
