Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (08/18/2010) It’s got most of the parts according to the seller …
“I have for sale a 50 Willys CJ3A Jeep project. Most of the parts are there. It is however missing the seats, gas tank and gauges. I do have the original transmission and transfer case. There are some new parts that are included with it. It does have a windshield frame but it is not the correct for the year. The body is in very good shape. The drivers floor pan needs to be replaced as it has already been cut out. I have not done anything to it since I purchased it a few months ago. The previous owner had rebuilt the front axle and upgraded it to the larger drum brakes. Also included with it is a Buick Oddfire 225 V6 from a later CJ5. It turns over and has good compression. I do have the aluminum bell housing, flywheel and starter for it as well. I was told it was a good running engine. All that is needed to put it in the Jeep is the adapter to mate the T90 tranny to the bell housing. I do not have a title for it as this is how I purchased it. Was going to make it an off road toy. I would trade for an old motorcycle preferably something unique or an old vw. Drop me a line if you have questions or offers. I am asking $500 obo. Thanks for looking.”

“!949 CJ3A for sale. I bought this from a guy in Denver. Wiring was terrible, engine compartment was a fitter’s nightmare. Body off restoration 2008. Only holes in body are the holes that belong there. Painted Potomac Gray w/ Harvard Red wheels. All parts are used Willys (all refinished). New Koker tires and tubes. New instruments- Amp, oil press, temp, fuel. speedo came with car. Rebuilt carb from 2 Carters. Rewired gen’y for 12 V. All new hoses and correct type clamps. All new cloth wiring. Wired for turn signals to rear, but wires are put away. All body hardware in place for canvas top. Lower door channels are not installed, but are included. Missing: wipers, inside mirror, rear seat, battery hold-down bracket. All vacuum lines in place, rear seat mounts are in place. Just rebuilt starter( Bendix). New battery today. New coil today. Car has sat for about a year. Started today and drove. No problem. No leaks. Most seals are new. All fluids have been changed. I’ve been using lead additive. Didn’t take engine apart. Horn is correct tone.I bought this car for $5000, invested approx $6000. I’m selling because I have a ’55 CJ5 for a daily driver, and a ’61 DJ3 for my summer fun car. I will be selling a ’67 CJ5 V6 after trans is replaced (1st gear lost 2 teeth). I haven’t put more than 500 miles on this car. This car will ship almost anywhere in cont’l US for about $650.”
These are project and/or parts vehicles that I have collected but don’t know when I will be able to restore! Their condition ranges from running but needing restoration, (2), to not running but with most of the parts needed to restore including engines and running gear. 3 have titles and I will supply a bill of sale for the other 2. Willys CJ2A. pretty much complete, has not ran in a while, but it turns over nicely. all stock. pto winch, tow bar, soft top. floors and tub sides have had the rust cut out and new metal welded in. not perfect, but very functional. great 16″ traction tires. NO title. I have checked Oregon, Washington, Cali, Idaho, and Nevada, and there are no records on this rig. It obviously has not been titled in a long time. Forms required by Oregon dmv from these states are available online. complete and send in as part of the title process.”

“I’m putting my 1957 Willys Jeep CJ5 up for sale. This Jeep is awesome! It has a 327 Corvette motor in it, runs great, Magnaflow exhaust, headers, new gauges, etc. The tires are practically new – less than 100 miles on them. “We were told it was a 1952 CJ3A when we bought it, but I have yet to verify this. I have more pictures of it. The body is in very very bad shape, but the engine, transmission and frame are all very solid as far as we can tell. It was used for transporting tools and parts around our land (about 250 acres) as well as just having some fun riding around.
