(11/12/08) Here’s a sand/mud rig. Safe to say it’s been modified.
“Built 350, turbo 350 tranny 205 trans-x, 9″ rear spooled toyota front both with 4.56 gears, boggers rear irock on front. asking $5000.00 may trade for cherokee (my kids like to wheel this is too much rig for them)this thing is built to play with and thats how i used it.”
UPDATE: ICON is no longer selling these jeeps. They were priced at $45,000
Jump over to the CJ-3B Page and check out the latest on the new ICON CJ-3B, the first of several (or many?) new CJ-3Bs that will roll of the ICON plant from Van Nuys, CA. Derek covers this vehicle very thoroughly. It appears they’ve built a good rig. The engine is an interesting choice, likely providing debate for some time. Make sure to check out the gauge panel; it’s very different!
You can also see many pictures of an early prototype here from the CJ-3B Page.
“One owner since ’72; never restored, but more than maintained with everything new as needed; F-four, runs great, starts right up. Some rust on driver and passenger side step plate, under-seat storage compartments, but not as much as you would expect considering year/model. So I got a call today, woman says she has a1953 plow jeep she wants to get rid of. She said her deceased father, a mechanic, owned it for more than 40 years and used it to plow his business etc. When I hear plow jeep, Im thinking piece of rusty crap thats been worked to death etc. I have a driveway thats 1/3 of a mile long and I will need a plow this winter so I went to take a look.
Man, was I shocked, a completely (except orange paint) original 1953 CJ3B, 6 volt, uncut, runs great, has brakes, chains on all four studded tires, nice original seats, 15″ stock wheels, no rust to speak of, super straight, soft top frame with a tarp over it, still has the snap in carpet kit. Some one had obviously loved it for many, many years. Under that layer of dust is a really nice jeep and after a long heart to heart talk, its now mine for very little money!
I brought it home and tested it out. Everything works great, brakes, heater etc but there is a weird knocking on the engine, seems to come go at time so Im thinking someone dropped a bolt or something into the carb and it is knocking on top of a piston. I will know for sure when I pull the head in a few days but overall it is in excellent condition. I couldnt tell you the last time I bought a flat fender with a full on complete snap in carpet kit, very cool!
UPDATE: Price dropped to $700.
This might be worth some closer pics, though the steering looks a little crazy. Is that a steering housing sitting on top of the front of the driver frame rail?
“1953 Willys Jeep flat fender, V6 motor from a 60s model Jeep this jeep originally came with a 4 cly motor, Jeep needs the wiring ,exhaust and brakes redone to get it going good . Motor starts up and runs . Would make a good beach or hunting Jeep .

“This is a 1958 Jeep Willys High Hood, it’s my grandpa’s jeep, and it is in very good condition. Starts right up, and the engine runs good. Tires are in great condition, tred is all there. The interior isnt very old, maybe 6 years or so. This jeep has been kept in storage the whole time he’s had it. Unless you count the occasional 4 mile trip to another garage. Please call my grandpa for questions, he will know more about it.”
UPDATE: Pics added. Price dropped to $1700.
This looks like a good deal.

“Up for sale is an Awesome Jeep CJ3B. Only 37k miles. Just changed diff gear oil. I really do not want to sell, but i have 2 other Jeeps and not enough storage space. I started to restore her about 1 year ago, but I’m in the process of moving, and i just don’t have the room anymore. The motor has been removed for better access. She ran like a champ when i last drove her! I have all parts labeled, and neatly set asidethat were removed (minor). Motor, tranny, and transfer case are all together. Minimal rust on floor panel, has all gauges (fuel gauge is probably going to need replacement), 31″ tires, roll cage, and much much more! Have title in hand for new owner. The pictures were taken a week or so ago. Great project vehicle, or just put the motor back in and have some good ol fun! There are plenty of extra parts if needed. This jeep is an antique and a collectors item, and one of the first Civilian Jeeps ever made. I could go on and on about this Jeep, but don’t have time right now. E-Mail me with any questions and make me an offer. Please don’t waste my time, serious buyers & Jeep fans only! I will take some more detailed pics as soon as i get a chance to. If i have time i will put the motor back in. This is a great Jeep. Best offer within 2 weeks takes it!!! Good Luck.”
