Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “The body is a 1950 Willy’s CJ3A and the frame and drive train is a 1961 Willy’s CJ3B. It has the inline 4 cylinder with a manual 3 speed transmission. 4×4 works fine. Motor starts up good but could probably use a little carb work. I have only drove back and forth to the store and haven’t had any issues. Frame has been refinished and is in great shape. The tub could use some love but not to bad. Tires are new and are 31’s”

(06/23/2018) This has the Hydrovac brake booster upgrade. I had one in Patterson, but I removed it as it needed restoration.

“1953 Willy’s 3B High hood body with a 3A motor. Drive train functions well all gears forward/reverse. Brakes ok however the starter went out needs replacing. Motor turns over and runs with new starter. As stated above the motor is the L head and not the F head. Hard top and doors comes with plow.”

“I bought this Willy’s Jeep in 2006 in the hopes of restoring it when I retire, but I have more on my plate than I can do now. This Jeep was running shortly before I bought it, it needs a new starter and that is supposed to be all. I didn’t try and get it running as I was going to do a frame up restoration.
