“51 willys jeep complete tub with windsheild fenders and hood, just needs rolling chassis. 57 cj5 willys tub no fenders. make offer. possible trades. 928-853-0864”
This just made my day. It will run, too!
“According to the internet, “The Jeep was the most reliable and favorite vehicle of the armed forces.” This one won’t be any of that, but here’s a brief ‘Ratrospective’ on this creation. We took a stunning, low mileage and rust free Willys Jeep, tore it off the frame and cut it into several pieces (settle down, we’re just kidding).
This salute to our armed services started life as a 1955 Willys Jeep. We pulled the body off the frame, lengthened it twenty inches and narrowed the back half of it eleven inches. We then channeled the body over a 1984 Chevy S-Blazer 4×4 frame that had a small-block Chevy transplant. We added the dual quad intake and a couple of old Holley carbs. We fabbed our own zoomies, took some Army-issue backpack frames and direct mounted them to the floor for back rests. Seats are U.S. issue blankets torn in pieces. Some of the flooring and the seatbelts are courtesy of a wrecked Michigan State Police cruiser. We’ve got 4 Jerry cans out back for a fuel tank and a canteen over-flow tank for the radiator. Air Cleaners are drilled helmet liners and zoomie covers are olive drab soup cans wired together (we kept losing them when we fired it up). If you plan on ever driving this, there’s a pick and shovel mounted so you can dig your own grave. Battery box is U.S. Army issue tool box. It’s got a pre-historic Mallory coil and distributor for fire power. Zip ties hold the tilt front end closed (for now) but you’ll need a better solution. We don’t quite have the shift linkage figured out so you’ll have to come up with something. Right now the shifter is out in front of the windshield.
The Rat does run but we haven’t had the guts (stupidity) to drive it. We will be selling this vehicle as ‘PARTS ONLY’! It does come titled as a 1955 Willys. Miles are not actual. Buyer will have to pay a document fee of $190 or 5% of the sale price (whichever is less). Plus 6% Michigan sales tax and a title transfer of $15. Sorry, but we all have to pay taxes.
You’re gonna need a trailer (Rat trap) to pick this up. We will help you push it on board, but you’ll have to handle everything else. Any questions? We check email once a day. You can also call Fergy at(810)653-4111.
There is no reserve on this auction but we think it’s worth millions.
This will make a great project, art study or urinal for the discerning buyer.”

This looks good.
“Hi and thank you for looking at my auction. I am helping my father list his Willys jeep as he isn’t computer savy, not that I am either:)
He has a 1955 CJ5 Willys jeep. It has a Best Top soft top and doors. Overhead valve engine. Came from a farm in Illinois before my father bought it. Drives out well. Has been sitting in the shed on the farm here for a few years. Starts and runs well. Carburetor might need a rebuild again. I rebuilt it a fews years back but this wonderful ethanol fuel ruins the rubber diphram in this carb. Paint is fair, not flashy but not going to slide off in a fast turn either. Body is nice and not a rust bucket. I can take pics of the floors and inside and under the body. Was always a red Willys. First year of this “new” body style.
Any questions please ask. Always welcome to come and look and drive it. We will help with shipping and can haul or drive it towards you if that helps. Is and has always been inside since my father purchased it and can stay here if needed as long is it is paid for or prior agreement made to do so. Willing to help just ask before the end of the sale! Title is free and clear, no liens or loans on it.
This is a nice old running and driving jeep. It is almost 60 years old and lived it’s life on a farm. It has a super solid body and runs out great and handles like a nice old truck. It does have dings and dents that have been fixed, the paint is as old as I am (35 years), there are chips in the paint and some scatches. It is a super fun go and get a malt type of dependable old vehicle.
This is a $6500.00 jeep not a restored $12,000.00 one so if that is what you want this is not the truck for you. Please come and look at it before you bid or ask questions about with more than a day left, please. It can be driven and I encourage people interested to do just that.”

“1956 jeep willys-runs and looks great! Price is firm”
UPDATE: I had this as a CJ-5, but Andy pointed out that it looks more like a M-38A1. He’s right.
The jeep runs, but may need a new clutch.
“Up for sale is my 1957 Willy’s Jeep. Truck has the F-Head 4 cylinder, three speed tranny with the PTO, truck is showing 77,xxx on the odometer. Also has a 6 foot plow on the front of it. Truck has a steel hardtop with full steel doors. I think the Jeep needs a clutch cause with it running, it won’t move at all. I bought this as a project but I have way to many things to work on right now so this has to go. Have the registration in hand, ready to go. Has not been on the road since 1982. Also still has the military badge on the dash with instructions on how to drive it. This is a pretty cool piece of history. Asking $1,400 or B/O. May also be interested in trades, shoot me offer of what you have. My cell number is 715-6148, best way to get a hold of me is by texting.”
This looks in good shape.
“Hi, this is a very nice 1955 Willys cj5. The speedo says 42,800 miles and I believe it accurate as I am the 3rd owner and the last guy had it for almost 20 years. Also, the frame is NOT rusted out!
Smooth running f134, 3speed, CLEAR TITLE, “Tank Top” topper (made here in KC), heater, front tow bar, rear HD trailer hitch, new tires, new starter, runs great!
This is a very clean Willys with rust only in the “tool box” under the passenger seat.
100% ready to roll!!

(11/26/2011) There looks like some value here.
” I have a 1956 Willys Jeep CJ5 for sale. I’ve only had this Jeep for less than two months. I don’t know anything about it, except that it sat in the backyard of an Ivins resident for over 25 years unmoved, and unstarted. It was exposed to the elements, so it’s got a lot of surface rust, but it’s not horrible. The seats are there, but they would all need to be completely rebuilt/upholstered. The engine runs, but keep in mind that it sat for a long time……so I don’t know what kind of shape it’s in. I only ran it for about 30 seconds the whole time I’ve had it.
It has WWII era FORD GPW axles under it. These are rare, and are worth about $400+ from what I can gather by the questions I posted on an internet forum about GPW’s. Here is the post I made with detailed pictures. http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=192566
It’s also got a Koenig PTO winch. These are worth around $400+ in working condition, and cleaned up. http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164754
Here is a video I shot today of the jeep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qXHJdh7TaQ and here is from about a month ago when I started the engine for the first time in 25+years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQpg3fj6LSU
Ivins is about an hour and a half north of North Las Vegas on I15. It’s just past St. George.
Email me to set up an appointment, or if you have any more questions.”
