How about this cool DJ-5 custom grille. The photographer who posted these pics (and others) was also the builder.

If I’d only known . . . Apparently Ceclia Gomez operates a popcorn and cotton candy stand out of a pink DJ-5 near Sunset Park in Brooklyn (near 5th Avenue and 50th Street). My wife says that is a must stop on our next trip to New York!

UPDATE: Was listed at $450. **SOLD**

Looks like a good price.
“1978 Right Hand Drive Mail Jeep in great condition.
Inline straight 6 motor
Very clean
Used on a mail route, but I recently got a new job and no longer need it
New brakes, new steering box, and many other updates
Drives like a Cadillac”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1775.
Here’s an odd item.
“This is a hand made Jeep themed bar, or service counter. The grille is a genuine Jeep part from a early 70’s mail truck. Its pretty much in same condition it was in when I found it. The bar framing is 1×4 and plywood.
The brick work is 2″ bead foam carved, sealed, and painted to look look like real brick. The bar top is reclaimed Red Oak and Cypress which has been sanded, sealed, and finished with 6 coats of water resistant poly clear coat. This is a unique 1 of a kind piece that you will not find at wal mart or Home Cheapo. This would be perfect in a Jeep lovers man cave, or as a service counter at an off road shop, or even a Jeep dealership.
Its 58″ long, 25″ deep, and 42.5″ tall weighs approx.75 lbs. This is a well made, sturdy piece that you will be proud to own. Can deliver in the Orlando area for small fee.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2900
This is a nice looking DJ.
“Selling a route ready postal jeep. Right hand drive. Runs, drives and stops with no problems. 283 small block chevy with turbo 350 trans nicely done. Very clean, good tires, stereo and toyota heater. Reupholsered seat with heater.”
This runs and drives.
“1982 Classic Mail Jeep. Model DJ-5L, Delivery Jeep. Once an official postal delivery truck. Equipped with steering on the right-hand side. One seat and lots of room for hauling. Locks up nicely.
This is a practical and fun vehicle! Starts good and runs good. The 4 cylinder engine is very sound and strong. Clean carburetor. Not bad on gas. Also has a good transmission system (automatic). 2 Wheel Rear Wheel Drive. Has many new parts installed still under warranty including: Alternator, Starter, Battery, Coil Pack, and Headlights. It also has a new Ignition Switch, new Spark Plugs, and new flashers. All lights and turn signals work great. Good heater. Brakes were recently redone. Tires decent.
Some things on this vehicle still need repair. Needs body work. Needs a wiper motor, needs a speedometer/odometer cable, and needs a floating sensor for the gas tank. Needs a new gas tank (the current tank holds gas but has a hole in the top part). The interior could use a little care; for example the seat is worn out and there’s a rust hole (2in. diameter) on the driver’s side wheel well. The body shows some rust, especially in the rear underneath. All original parts for this vehicle are available at PostalJeep.net.
Simple vehicle, easy to work on, enjoyable to drive, plenty of clearance for crawling underneath. Original mail tray, original key, original drivers manual included. Call 859-756-4191”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1250.
This runs and drives . . . and has flames.
“Purchased for Mail route and everything if fully operational. 2 new tires on front with 2 studded snow tires for winter use. We are upgrading vehicle for the comfort of the wife, when mom is happy everyone is happy. Also new battery, fuel sending unit and all breaks rebuilt with new calipers and shoes. Ask any questions….I have invested $1250 and this is what I would like.”
This looks in good condition, but those front spring hangers are LONG.
“Up for sale is a 1983 postal jeep DJ-5. Under the hood is a famous 2.5L GM “Iron Duke” engine. The entire exterior of the jeep has been bedlined and painted. 3-4″ lift. 31″ tires. Runs and drives great. Still have original mail tray and doors. It is an automatic transmission and 2wd. Text or call Jake at 4o4-61o-9851 or respond by email.”
UPDATE: Was listed for $750. **Status Unknown**
It looks pretty good, but needs a little work.
“1974 AMC Jeep DJ-5C Mail Jeep
Used for mail delivery for 2 years but got a newer one and it’s been sitting for about 2 years.
Features:
New Radiator
New Water Pump
New Alternator
New head Gasket Set about 6 months before parking it
Transmission rebuilt by Aamco about 1 year before parking it
Good tires
All lights work including flasher mail sign on top
Heater works great!
Right hand drive
back door for easy mail & package packing
has mail platform on left side for stacking mail trays
has plenty of room even during Christmas season!
Body is in fair condition.
It comes with a floor pan for drivers side, I just never had time to weld it in.
It also comes with a new windshield and gasket that I never got around to installing.
It also comes with a new set of brake shoes… front or back.
Previous owner lost door keys so pad locks were installed to secure the mail.
It needs a drivers side window, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. BRAKES need to be repaired before driving home or you can tow it home.
Great for rural mail routes. Might be a nice alternative to a golf cart for camp/hunting grounds or farm.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3200
“Old right hand drive jeep. Automatic, four cylinder, runs well and is great on gas. It looks like an old willy’s jeep. Very cool, very fun.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
These are rare. Needs work though. Includes a Cherokee.
“Up for sale is a rare 1969 Jeep DJ6 (2 wheel drive). I just don’t have the time to restore it like I planned. Have some new wiring, a replacement steering column, and new tail lights. It has an early 80’s Chevy V6 and manual 3 speed trans. The motor ran good when I bought it, but have removed the wiring. I have a bikni top and rear panel with window that mounts to the roll bar, and some old soft doors. The body and floors have some rust but is mostly solid, I will also include a 1997 Cherokee that I was going to use to upgrade the axles and braking system on the old Jeep. It has seats that are in perfect condition that would have been used also. Please don’t ask to buy the Cherokee. It is not titled and will only be included as parts. If I connot sell the Dj I will need the Cherokee for parts. I will consider a trade for a tractor with a bushhog or box blade. This will make a very nice Jeep to run around in if you have the time to restore it, really wish I did”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800.
It runs and drives. The DJs run and are cheap. Will we ever see them become popular rebuilds? It wasn’t that long ago that flat fenders were cheap and ubiquitous.
“1976 mail jeep. runs and drives great. fun little play around vehicle and road legal. has a small leak from the transmission pan but just needs a new gasket just havent had time to fix it. askin 800 o.b.o. any questions text or call”
UPDATE: STatus Unknown. Was listed for $1000.
You don’t see many DJ-5 half cab trucks.
“2 Wheel Drive Mail Truck that has the potential to be an amazing tailgating ride or Sunday driver with a little bit of time. This is a project that needs new tires and will run with a little bit of elbow grease. Might be willing to trade for a pop-up camper or travel trailer. $1,000.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
This might be a pretty rare jeep, since DJ-5s started being built in 1965. I can’t tell if it is all stock or not. The seller notes this has a 150cc motor. Now, it might feel like that jeep feels like it is powered by something that small, but I’m sure the engine is slightly bigger.
“1965 DJ 3A Kaiser/Willies Jeep

4 lugs wheels
150cc motor
Good engine, no smoke
