UPDATE: Don’t forget that next weekend is the FC Roundup. We’d planned on attending, but had to change our plans this week.
The 2015 Jeep FC Roundup will be held March 27-29. Unfortunately, one great FC guy who won’t be able to attend is Troy Fry, who passed away in September. You might remember the amazing work Troy did on his orange and white FC (check out his build photos here). He was an all-around nice guy and will be missed.
If you have any questions about this year’s Roundup, email Jesse Ybarra at m677@cs.com.

The HOTEL 502, it is a few blocks away, near the lightrail. (N0TICE THE NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED, IT WAS THE CAMELBACK / SAHARA / Hotel 502 LAST YEAR)
We offer transportation to and from the West bound light rail that connects directly to Phoenix International Airport. Arrangements have been made again, for the same optional 24 hr security parking, for offstreet overflow of Haulers and trailers to park for the weekend again during the Phoenix Swapmeet at the County Fairgrounds.
This year the Bantam Festival has a fantastic lineup of early jeeps courtesy of Omix-ADA. The BRC built by Duncan Rolls, along with a host of other early jeeps should make for a great show.
Joe and his GPW attended the 24th Annual Military Vehicle Show held by the Arizona Military Vehicle Collectors Club this past weekend. It looks like he was having plenty of fun!
Just one post this morning. Ann was sitting in bed relaxing yesterday afternoon when she positioned her knee just right … or just wrong would be more accurate. It caused her knee cap to shift sideways. It happens once a year or so. She had to take a muscle relaxer to deal with the pain, so I spent last night taking care of her.
On the plus side, Marty Tilford and other racers from the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association had a good time at the Tacoma Dome this past weekend competing in a series of barrel races. They lined up all their jeeps and took a photo for us. Yep, I am sure it was just for us!
The 23rd Annual Willys Spring Reunion takes place May 15-17 in Hudson, Ohio. This year’s Willys Reunion promises to be a HISTORIC EVENT, with the gathering of AgriJeeps (the first post-war CJ-2 Jeeps), all in one place for the first time since their official introduction at Cesor Farm on July 18, 1945.
The show features technical and non-technical presentations, parts vendors (new/NOS/take-off), Willys folklore, and over 100 Willys and Jeep classics from vintage WWII to the mid-’80s or newer. Special guest speaker at the Saturday night banquet is Bill Norris of the Norris-Banonis Group publishers. Learn more on Facebook or at the 2015 Willys Reunion webpage.
The East Coast Willys Association’s 3rd Annual Swap Meet on Saturday was a big hit. Several readers submitted photos (thanks!). Here are some:

Bob Christy reports the 2014 Summer Willys Reunion went well. Here are some photos from last weekend’s event. You can see all the photos here:

On Saturday I drove over to Seattle via Hwy 20 to Ethyl, Washington, where the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association was holding the 2014 Summer Convention. While there, I got a chance to talk with both Herm and Marty Tilford, but spent most of the time taking photos. Turns out I could have used my wife’s help with properly setting the shutter speed. I did get a few good photos though.
On Sunday I got a chance to meet with Cody. A retired Marine Commander (hope I got that rank right), he’s a ball of energy who shared some great stories and insights. Though he doesn’t own a jeep yet, he’s been considering the purchase of one and has been reading eWillys to learn about them. Most of the year he lives in Taiwan, but is currently in the U.S. helping out family. He’s led an interesting life and we had a great chat.
Unfortunately, instead of spending Monday working on the jeep, I spent it not feeling well. So, I may return to Pasco on Tuesday for my wife to dote on me (hopefully).
Here are the pics from Summer Convention. The first two show’s Marty’s jeep just after the tire blew and his front driveline coupler broke (see it on the floor).
Next Weekend is the Midwest Willys Summer Reunion in Effingham, Illinois. If you are interested in any eWillys books or t-shirts, Bob Christy will have some for sale at his booth.
“Saturday’s guest speaker will be Mike Picard. Mike is the designer and builder of the amazing Electro-Willys; an all electric powered M38. He is also the host for the Colorado Fall Colors Tour which is an annual event where Willys jeepers from around the country meet for a week of trail riding in the Rocky Mountains. Mike is an active member of the MVPA who helped in the planning of the 2012 ALCAN convoy. The Willys Nelson Band will be there to sing tribute songs to our favorite Willys classics!”

Tim was at the Keeneland Concours d’Elegance in Lexington, Kentucky, this past weekend. He reports that despite a rainy day, they had a good turnout, including 10 jeeps in the jeep area. Here are some photos he took.
Dan had a great time at last Saturday’s Willy’s America Open House. He was VERY busy with his camera and shot hundreds of photos you can see them all at the Old Willys Forum:
John forwarded this unusual race. It’s was a 7610 mile rally across some desolate terrain. Sure looks like it would have been an experience!

This year’s Willys America Open House will be Saturday July 19th in Cazadero, California. We won’t be there this year as we have a family event that same weekend.
There’s a Caravan that will also be leaving San Francisco in the morning. You can learn more about their itinerary here.

John forwarded these pics from the 2014 Willys Picnic last weekend. Looks like a great day.
Andy shared this second D-Day commemoration photo from the beach of Normandy. What a unique experience it would be to travel over this beach in MB/GPW!
John snapped these photos from the MAAM WWII Weekend in Reading, PA, this past weekend.
Andy Brown forwarded this great photo in Normandy outside the tank museum near Carentan. Andy notes they were expecting over 200 jeeps at the event.
On September 7, Bob Christy is hosting another Northern Ohio Flatfender day at his place in Green, Ohio. See all the info below:

Bob just posted Paul Berry’s keynote speech from the 2014 Spring Midwest Willys Reunion. For those that don’t know, Paul Berry operates Willys America. The presentation lasts fifty minutes and covers some of the lesser known Willys/Jeep service vehicles.
