UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
(05/10/2012) “1957 Willys Jeep , 4 wheel drive Front Forward Control
UPDATE 2: We are certain this was a scam. Contrary to what the ‘seller’ reports, no LoJack activation has never occurred on a Willys in AZ.
UPDATE: Thanks to Craig for managing to get a response. The seller claims these are sold. And, thanks especially to Jesse for his detailed analysis on this. In between tearing down my parent’s rotten deck and getting ready to build a new one I’ve been following the comments on this ad/scam/?? with interest.
“I have two modernized like new except for paint m677 FC Kaiser Jeeps with 4 door crew cabs, full skid plates, new motors, new drive train, or professionally rebuilt. Modern features like PS, PB, AC, locker Eaton Rear end. One is Gasoline powered Chevrolet LT-1 350 the other is a 6 cyl heavy duty diesel. To much to mention. $65,000 takes both and plenty of original parts. I had the custom paint jobs blasted off when the company who contracted their build at a cost of over $100,000 defaulted and we repo’ed these.. Both have new interior, AC, 24 12 and 120 volt power. Both have heavy duty winches, and one comes with a PTO winch and hydrostatic plow drive als all hoses drive lines etc. They run and drive great. Suspension is all new and engineered for the load of the new running gear. Running gear was regeared to maximize the HP torque and RPMs of the power plant(s). Paint is all these lack. They are in a climate controlled storage. Look up this model on Google. These are primer gray and all they need is a final paint job. These are rare, and unheard of in this condition. Email for a viewing time and location, as well as questions and a an extensive list of original spare parts, engines, transfer cases, glass, etc. One mor could be made original from spare frame body parts engine X fer case front and rear end etc. Zero rust. Interiors are new Taurus Burgundy colored vinyl seats. New tires, new heavy duty brakes. These cost almost $130K to build. They were meant to service cell towers in remote locations. The buyer skipped town. They had LOJACK and I went and got them back. Too many upgrades and options to list. The gasoline model is more of a toy as the engine is high compression high horsepower. They have dual 24 and 12 volt electrical, all new rubber body gaskets, no leaks. They are in line in a storage unit, and photos will be difficult. After I take them out to allow a test dive photos will be available. These were driven every 4-6 weeks to keep seals from leaking and fluids changed every 3 months regardless of use. We are using Mobile One with extra filters engine oil coolers, A two regeared 2 speed overdrive was added between the 4 speed tranny and transfer case for 16 forward gears 2 reverse. All computer modeled to avoid clearance issues, binding ill fitting parts etc. Enough parts are on hand to make these original again too. THe Cat Diesel is the true work truck. I got 27 MPG with it HWY. $35K each $65K takes everything. Parts are available with further negotiation on one truck. Both trucks you get extra frames, cabs, mounts, etc. These are very very nice inside. Dunbar did all new springs and an airbag ride was installed. Email with a number for serious buyers ONLY> This will be listed in other locations I am willing to deliver to.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,000.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
“Well I’m sure no expert on Jeeps, but I aquired this 1960 FC-150 from a 82 year old farmer. This is what I call a true “Barn find” It has been stashed away in an old barn for over 20 years. It has all the typical rust in all the typical spots.
This was a running and driving jeep when he last parked it into storage. He had planned to put his portable welder in the back, but never got that far. He lost the title so I can only give you a bill of sale.
With the exception of a sunroof, and a missing radio, I would say that this FC-150 is almost 100% complete and original.
This would make a nifty restoration project, or perhaps A good a parts vehicle. I have no doubts that someone more mechanical than myself could have it running again in fairly short order?
This jeep is old and ugly but it has just around 63,000 original miles on it. The engine/transmission,differentials, etc. are all original. I have turned the engine over by hand and it’s free.
This jeep is over 52 years old, and I I am selling it as is.
I would much rather you plan for the worst, and hope for the best than be dissapointed in any way. And remember… no title.”
No title nor VIN tag.
“True Barn Find I believe is from the 60’s Complete vehicle
There was metal repair near the Passengers wheel well, at the time the Vin tag must have been removed and never put back on. I do not have it, I do not have a Title and I do not have a prior registration and no way to get one. So Bid accordingly.
The Jeep is complete, its a 4 cylinder F-head, cleaned out the gas tank and Carb and put in fresh gas. Cranked it a few times and it fired right up. It runs smooth, no noises and no smoke issues.
It yard drives, 4 wheel high and low work. Brakes will need work, has a 4 way plow set up but no blade. Hydralic pump on the motor.
Custom made welders body with factory counter weight over rear end.”
No pics provided.

There may be some value here.

“For sale is my vintage fc-170 weasel. This truck runs good and will go anywhere. Ive spent alot of money to make this truck dependable. New parts are starter, gm alt, gauges, steering cyl, exhaust, battery,. It starts and runs great. Tracks are in good shape and someone added chain to them to make them stronger. Motor is a studabaker 6 cyl. lights work. The bottom needs plugs where they were cut as to let it drain. T90 trans. Reserve is low compared to cheap side by side. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
Either lots of parts or two projects.
“Two FC-170 Jeep Truck projects
Gray truck:
1964 – one of the last FC-170 produced – 1 ton – 4 wheel drive – 3 speed transmission – Dana 20 transfer case
Rebuilt original engine and axles, Frame has been sand blasted and painted.
Cab was sandblasted and primed years ago but will need to be done again. New floor pans and rear window panel included. Windshield, rear window and quarter glass all provided. Doors are included but door glass is missing.
Green truck:
1962 – 1 ton – 4 wheel drive – 3 speed transmission – Dana 18 transfer case
Engine is stuck, axles have been rebuilt
Cab has had some “quick” body work and paint by a previous owner. Looks good from a distance but could use some more work. All glass is in good condition. Front and rear lower cab corners are in excellent condition. Frame has been patched but seems to be strong. Has nice seats and door panels.
Together there are more than enough parts to make one good truck with lots of spare parts.
$2,500 obo\
I ran across this unusually modified FC named Work’N Woody. According to this website, it’s a modified FC that has been a fixture at race tracks since 1978. It even has its own website. You can see a gallery of pictures here. Pretty cool! It must be a great place to watch a race.
Here are a couple pictures from the website:
UPDATE: **SOLD** No price was listed.
This looks beautiful. I searched for other Willys on oldcaronline.com, but the others appear very overpriced to me.
Here are several original FC-170 brochures at a good price.
“ORIGINAL SHOWROOM FOLDOUT provides PICTURES, FEATURES, SPECS and MORE on this unusual 4-Wheel Drive JEEP. In EXCELLENT CONDITION.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This brochure was designed as mailer to promote the TV Show Maverick with James Garner as a joint advertising venture. This is 8.5 x 5.5 folded , 8.5 x 11 unfolded.
Here’s a cool photo of a FC-150 Tow Truck at work on a race track, though the FC doesn’t take up much of the image. I’ve made the FC portion a little bigger in the photo below.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
The bidding is no reserve and starts at $2950. It runs and drives. Seller can deliver.
“1960 Jeep Forward Control Pickup. Pickup has a Rebuilt Engine and Transmission…New Brakes…New Tires. Runs and Drives Great. Body has mostly surface rust, and is Solid. The dashboard has some rust thru. Driver’s window has a crack in it. Theses trucks are getting rare, and I hate to sell it, but I have certain obligations. The truck is in Northwestern Wisconsin, but I can deliver it almost anywhere for a fee, (Email for a free quote).”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
This needs assembly (drivetrain removed) and some work.
“This is a rare cab-over style Forward Control Jeep with a 2.3 liter F-head 4-cylinder engine, 3-speed T-90 manual transmission, and two-speed T-18 transfer case. I have a clear Texas title in my name. These unusual trucks draw a lot of attention.
The engine and transfer case have seen no use since being rebuilt and they are out of the vehicle, along with the gearbox (in other words, the truck is not drivable as is). Radiator is rebuilt. This truck was sold new in the Phoenix, AZ area and remained there with the original owner’s family (they owned the Jeep dealership) until I brought it to central Texas nearly six years ago, so body corrosion is minimal. Brakes are rebuilt with no miles on them. All window glass is good. Comes with new hoses, wiring harness, clutch, pressure plate, brakes, an alternator with conversion kit brackets, and the following extra items: a pair of doors in good condition, rear window glass, a bare cylinder head, an extra disassembled 3-speed gear box, vacuum brake servo, extra rebuilt generators, an extra starter motor, and various extra pieces of trim and small mechanical items. (more info on eBay)”
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **Status Unknown**
This sure looks good.

I’ve never seen diamond plating used to accent an FC quite like this. Lots of large pics on eBay.
“RARE 1958 JEEP WILLYS ( FORWARD CONTROL ) FC-150 TRUCK. SINGLE CAB, 4 WHEEL DRIVE WITH LOCK OUT HUBS, DUMP BED, AND WINCH AND SNOW PLOW SET UP ( PLOW NOT INCLUDED ).
STARTS AND RUNS AND DRIVES, GREAT PARADE VEHICLE, NOT A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR HIGHWAY SPEEDS, HAS 5:38:1 GEARS IN THE REAR.
STARTS UP AND SHIFTS FINE, CLUTCH IS GOOD. BODY WORK WAS DONE MANY YEARS AGO AND IS CONSIDERED AMATUER WORK, SAME AS THE PAINT, BUT LOOKS SWEET FROM 20 FEET.
OPERATING DUMP BED AND REAR WINCH, WOULD ALSO BE A GOOD FARM VEHICLE OR SOMETHING TO IMPROVE ON OR RESTORE AS YOU GO, AND TAKE TO SHOWS, I GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE THE ONLY PERSON WITH A 1958 FC-150 JEEP. THERE WERE ONLY 2000 MADE, AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY ARE LEFT??

MOTOR APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL 134CI 4 CYLINDER, IT HAS A 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION, NOT SURE IF IT IS ORIGINAL OR NOT, BUT THEY DID MAKE SOME WITH 4 SPEEDS AND 3 SPEEDS.”
David sent this image showing the delivery of the first FC-150 to South Dakota. He was wondering if anyone recognized the dealership?
After a 570 mile journey, Craig nabs himself “the ever elusive FC-170 with the ‘Jeep’ Factory Approved “Trav-L-Aire Camper.” See a brochure about the camper here. You can read more about the purchase at the Forward Control Forum. Congrats Craig.
Here are some exclusive pics:
With the hot, humid Missouri weather melting him, Craig decided that thinking about jeeping in the Colorado mountains was a perfect diversion. He forwarded some pics and videos so we could join his diversion.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000
This FC supposedly spent it’s life running the railroad tracks. No railroad wheels left according to the seller.
“Hello Gearheads. Here is a very restorable, rare vehicle for your consideration. A ton of great parts, or easy restoration. It is a 1962 Jeep FC170 truck that is in great unrestored condition. It of course is 4wd, with a snow blade, ( hydraulics have been rebuilt )… Great driver that runs like a top. Only 72,983 actual miles. Ex- railroad truck that spent its life running up and down the tracks, has instruction plate, but no wheels for running the tracks ( sorry to all you hazzard boys ) Has new radiator, water pump, brakes, new brake and fuel lines. Completely rebuilt bed with a substantial metal plate floor ready for the toughest thing you can throw into it. Original red paint under primer, all wiring original and proofed with everything working. needs only tires for state inspection. easy to bring to tip top condition or use as is. Give me a call with any questions.”
