I will be spending a few days in Salt Lake City (roughly Friday through Tuesday) to visit with my kids. So, updates might be a little spotty.

A Little Behind Schedule
What a day yesterday! I woke up to learn that my deilers.com site (which also hosts the Alaska Or Rust site) had been hacked. If you viewed the site on a phone, you’d get a nice photo of an undressed young lady. As you can imagine, that’s a problem.
After some research, I learned that some from Turkey (probably that was spoofed IP) has uploaded zipped files, added some .htaccess files, and changed some the website files. While attempting to douse that fire (which I’ve fixed about 25% of the way), I was also packing for a short trip to Seattle. My father has surgery on his leg to improve its circulation.
Meanwhile, my mom is still on her walker from her knee surgery, due to newly pulled groin and other issues. To see the following each other, both pushing walkers, is a bit humbling!
So, I’m a little behind today. Sunday I *should* be back to normal.

Ann’s Debugging My Computer
The posts promised for Thursday morning will be slightly delayed, as will responses to Wednesday’s emails.
After leaving my sister’s house Wednesday afternoon near Tacoma, we drove smokey roads all the way home to Pasco. After a quick, partial unpack of the motorhome, I ran a couple errands while Ann set off a flea bomb in the motorhome (our dog picked up some fleas at my sister’s farm).
Around 10pm, I was ready to do updates when I realized my computer was not in my computer backpack. That is when I discovered my computer had been packed by my wonderful wife into a drawer rather than my backpack. Thus, it was accidentally amongst the items to be “debugged”.
So, I let the debugger tun its course last night and will retrieve the debugged computer this morning to complete some updates for later today.
Just a few updates today
(This was supposed to appear Thursday morning, but I messed up!)
Just a few updates today. We will be gypsying in the motorhome for the next week or so. We’ll be in Roy, WA, for a couple days at my sister’s place, then down to Ethyl for the weekend for some jeep races, then most likely back to my sister’s place (redoing her roof and fixing stuff).
Bruce Troxell just published his take on the conclusion of the Alaska Or Rust adventure: http://blog.tirebuyer.com/alaska-rust-vintage-jeep-caravan-le-grand-finale/
1949 Jeepster Wichita, KS $7900
Has some updates.
“1949 Willy’s for sale. Chevy 283, with 350 heads (I believe). Runs great! interior has a small tear on left side of the driver’s seat where the side and the top meet. It is covered with black gorilla tape and it works fine, exterior could use new paint, but I get compliments all the time. No idea what the actual mileage is, odometer reads 80,384.
The top is white and is in good shape, except the pull tab on the back window broke off. I use pliers to open and close it, but the top stays down 95% of the time.
This Jeepster comes with all side curtains and a black boot to cover for the top when it’s down. The transmission has been converted to automatic, accessory fan with on/off switch added to cool the motor, was told it has a chrysler front end, and floats a bit when driven, but it’s a 1949! There is some rust inside the wheel well and on the undercarriage. This would be a very simple, resto vehicle.
This is a fun car to own, selling it for family reasons.”

1946 VEC? CJ-2A Randle, WA $7500
Not “all stock”, but there may be a fair stock jeep under those mods.
“46 Flat Fender Willys jeep for sale. All stock. Fun toy to play with. Has been garaged for 10 years.”

1961 Truck New Canaan, NY $12,000
UPDATE: Still Available.
(10/13/2016) Looks nice, but does have some rust under the driver’s side (rust pics not shown below).
https://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/cto/6294664309.html
“This truck has been renewed and refreshed in original equipment without disturbing its authenticity, experience, and patina. It served as a service station vehicle for many years in Bellows Falls VT until it turned about 44K miles in 1991. From there is sat, little used, and was discovered in a barn in 2014 where it came to CT and underwent a full restoration of its aging or failed parts and systems. Now it drives several times per week on local trips and has attended local parades and Caffeine & Carburetor shows. The only non-OEM changes have been the addition of three point restraints and the electrification of the wipers. Currently odometer shows just under 47K miles.
Inline 6 cyl 226 engine, three speed transmission, transfer case, front wheel locking hubs, one ton hauling capacity, full fold-down tailgate, three-point restrains. Everything on the truck works and the four wheel drive is amazing – also it drives happier with a half load than empty.
Replaced, repaired, or renewed:
Entire brake system from master cylinder thru lines, slaves, drums.
Front springs, shocks, and some bearings and tie rod ends
Clutch and brake pedals repaired, radiator flushed and new hoses, new speedometer cable, new electric wipers, new passenger window mechanism and glass
Full tune-up, new wires/coil/distributor parts, new fuel pump and filter, new headlamps and turn signal unit, new LED brake lights.
5 new original spec steel wheels, new Cooper AT3 tires in the original proportions. New wiper motor, three point restraints.”
Saturday Night Update
We finally made it to Pasco. On Sunday morning we will be taking the Vidals to Twin Falls, then returning the next day. Regular updates will appear again Tuesday morning. I will also have some final trip updates also.
BTW: I recharged Patterson’s battery last night and it started right up.
Thanks for everyone’s patience.
Final Days of Alaska Or Rust Still to Come
Those who have followed Ann and I on our eWillys adventures know that we do our best to provide nightly updates while traveling. I can confirm that doing those updates and keeping a group of people organized simultaneously was the most difficult thing I’ve done in years. By the time we neared Fairbanks, I was so sleep deprived I could barely write a cohesive paragraph. That’s a big reason I’ve had to delay the final two updates (trip from Beavercreek to Fairbanks and our last day in Fairbanks).
So, eWillys will be a little slow for the next couple of days. We’ll get it back on track over the next week.
Trip Update Coming Soon
Trip Update will be available in a couple hours.
No Updates Today
It’s was our 5th anniversary last night, so I enjoyed some drinks and will spend the evening with Ann. I’ll update everyone on the trip Sunday morning.
1947 CJ-2A Conner, MT **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1900.
Look like it may have a rear PTO:
Fair condition, Runs. Need battery for the flathead 4cyl. Rear PTO Shaft. Bike rack. Have new seats.
1900.00″
Chillin’ (and feverish)
I’ve been sick since Saturday night, alternating between chills and fevers. Hopefully I will feel better this morning!!
