Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have for sale a nice and clean 1953 Jeep Willy’s Wagon. It is in good cosmetic condition with very solid body panels and only light surface rust. This Jeep starts well and the engine has good compression. This Jeep has a tight clutch and the brakes work great. It has the original axles, 3 Speed Manual transmission and 4WD transfer case. All original parts except for the Chevy 302 engine and it has a brand new Interstate Battery. It has a dual exhaust. All the lights work perfectly and the electrical system is good. This Jeep has been painted inside and out but the exterior paint could be redone. All original badges and chrome. I had the front wheel wells sand blasted and they have a fresh coat of paint. The original chrome bumpers and grill are beautiful and the wood panels on the floor are in very good condition. The passenger side door window glass needs to be reconnected to the crank and the wipers don’t function. There is some soundproofing on the floor in the front floorboards and the headliner needs to be redone and the drivers side wing window has a crack. The original radio works works well but there are no speakers and there are no door keys. The tires are Firestone Radial ATX 235/75R15 mounted on chrome rims and a full size matching spare rim and tire is included. The mileage is unknown and I have a clean title in my name.”

Joe spotted this wagon mounted onto a 4-runner chassis.
“1949 Willys Wagon professionally mounted on a 4-wheel drive 1987 Toyota 4-Runner Chassis. Registered, Titled and Insured as a 1949 Willys (I have the Toyota Title also). No emissions test required.
Fuel Injected, reliable 4 cylinder RE22 Engine, 5-Speed Transmission, independent front suspension, power brakes and power steering. Factory Toyota wiring harness, everything works. Removable Side Steps, Audi TT Baseball Stitch leather bucket seats, All new glass & rubbers, and keyed alike door and hatch locks. Runs and drives like a Toyota, but has that cool old look.
Daily driver still needs cosmetics. Very rust free for a 1949, planned on adding more sound-proofing, and interior kit. Heater and A/C have not been completed yet.
New Michelin tires and factory Toyota rims/trim rings.
$7,000 with new winch, or $6,500 w/o winch, pretty firm.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** This is not a Parkway Conversion. I thought I saw barn doors on the back, but guess I was seeing things! This includes a PTO Winch and maybe the snow blade. Looks like a good price.

Runs and drives. The seller has listed this as a ’55, but it looks more like a 61 or older. Possibly a Maverick?

“I bought this in 1996 and have done all the work myself –except the rebuild of the engine.
Everything works (lights ,gauges,wipers,and 4×4 and it is 12 volt)
This Wagon was used in a movie in 2007 called When Love Concurs Paul . A DVD of the Movie will come with the sale.
It does have a broken drivers door window . and I do not have a key to the door locks
The tires are new and are BFG AT 33-9.50 they are great
Everything has been rebuilt or replaced.”

“I have a 1951 Willys Wagon for sale. This is the rare Parkway Conversion model which has the “barn style” rear doors but with rear side windows cut in from the factory. This is a 4 wheel drive vehicle with high and low range for a total of 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. The body is in very good shape with a few small areas of rust on the exterior. The drivers floor board has been repaired previously and will need to be redone. The engine has been replaced with a Ford y-block. The engine runs strong. The battery is new. The brakes do not work. I have a new master cylinder that I will include with the sale. I am currently restoring another Willys wagon back to original and then I was going to do a “restomod” with this one. I am storing it at a friends house in Wills Point and they are in the process of selling their home so I have to move it. I wish I would have started with this one first as it is in much better shape than the one I am working on. I live in Allen and as I said the vehicle is in Wills Point. I have included a link to my Photobucket page and a Youtube video so that you can see more pictures and a video of the engine running. I do not want to drive out there to meet tire kickers. I want to have a solid deal and then plan on meeting the buyer out there with their trailer and then complete the transaction. I will provide a bill of sale. If you have been looking for this type of vehicle you know this is a good deal for a wagon with the body in as good as shape as this. The car comes as is and has no warranty. The car has two minor issues. As mentioned above the drivers side door has a crack in the glass. This can be fixed for $75-100. Also, the headliner is new but needs to be tightened up. This can be fixed for $100-150.”
Interesting, but “top notch craftsmanship”?
“1958 Willys Wagon RAT ROD. Recently finished and highly executed. One of the most unique and well put together street rods available. Expensive parts throughout and dozens of hours of labor were required to produce the vehicle you see in these pictures.
This is registered and titled as a 1958 Willys and has period correct California plates. The body has been chopped and channeled and is mounted on a completely custom hand built frame.
This Rat Rod runs strong, is well sorted and very driveable. All gauges and lights are fully functional. The craftsmanship on this build is top notch. Parts alone on this rod would cost more than the asking price.
1930 Model A front suspension, super bell dropped axle 4″, with 39 Ford truck wheels and juice brakes. Rear axle is a Ford 9″ from a 72 pickup with 3.73 ratio. Standard leaf spring rear suspension. Transmission is a rebuilt C6 Auto out of a Heavy Duty Ford pickup.
The motor is a rebuilt 1968 390 bored .040 over with a new Edelbrock carb and custom exhaust pipes with baffles. Steering box is 74 Ford Pickup. Hydraulic brakes all around.

“This “Barn Find” is a 1947 Willys custom jeep! The original builder and owner worked as an engineer at SAC and also owned a Suds and Dogs restaurant. At one time it was a plow truck for winter and has a pto on the back for mowing grass in the spring and summer. Rusty!! Needs restoring. The motor is not original it is a ford falcon 6 seems to be stuck. Have no Idea about the transmission but do know that the drive shaft will spin if you lift the tires off the ground. The pto drive shaft also spins.”
