“I have a 1953 jeep Willys CJ3B for sale. It’s not in the best shape, but I bought it off of a lady who let is sit for 27 years so that’s to be expected. My original plan was to restore is, but an opportunity has come up that I need some cash for. This is a very rare, one of a kind jeep. this jeep does have the hard top with it that is very rare. It also has the spare tire carrier that mounts to the side with the spare rim. All the rims are original with new tires mounted on them. I currently have the engine pulled for inspection. After opening it up I see that it is able to be rebuilt, but it will take some time and patience and most of it will need replaced. The engine has a little bit over 46,000 miles on it. The body needs some work also. It has no floors and the sides need to be patched in some places and completely replaced in others. I do have a new 4 x 8 foot sheet of 16 gauge thick steel that I will sell with it to make body panels out of. All the brake drums are freed up and it does roll and the steering works so you can move it easily. This jeep is a project, but if you have been looking for a jeep project, then its perfect. All the gauges are in it and in decent shape also. If you have any questions or are interested feel free to email me, thanks.”
Jesse Ybarra sent in this report on the trip he and Andrea are enjoying in their modified 1964 M-679. They’ve driven from Phoenix to Dan’s Military FC show in Illinois, before heading down to Dallas.
He wrote: “We are still on our MOST EXCELLENT ROAD TRIP ADVENTURE. We drove the M-679 Ambulance from Phoenix to Marengo, Illinois. There were a lot of weather and road conditions to test me and my van. It has a new (for this trip) softer suspension change of 10 to 5 leaves and an added air ride. It sure was needed, because off roading at 10 mph is not like seeing the road sign that says bump at 75 mph and then flying all 4 tires in the air!
I also finished the interior, adding insulation covered by anodized aluminum and a headliner. I also installed a rear view monitor with side and rear cameras. Other modern conveniences include a motorized touch screen sound system, GPS MAPS, and a bluetooth onscreen connected phone.
At every pitstop, even ln the rain, people asked if they could take pictures. Even on the turn pikes
at over 75mph truckers and other drivers were taking pictures out their windows as we would pass them.
After a week in IL. We are in Dallas for another week with our daughter and grandchildren. The real road test is not the handling or power and economy, but how it can stop in the big city traffic. Driving into Dallas at afternoon rush hour was a real test on me more than on the van.”
Jesse plans to send some more photos and either or Mark Smith at warjeeps.com will have more on Jesse’s adventure.
For those curious about this built, you can seehow it looked before Jesse began work on it. The van had been headed for the scrapyard when Jesse got a hold of it. It is one of 6 known FC-679s.
UPDATE: Another Feshin Hole Postcard for sale.

Doug spotted this former Shriner’s jeep. It’s listed as a 1953, but it appears to be a post 1956 3B.

“40 ish jeep willys runs n drives 4 cylinder flat head $1500”
Does not run at the moment. Sounds like it could be something simple.
“This was my dad’s vehicle. It has been 1 owner, and used as a work vehicle for many years in a sawmill. I don’t know a lot about it. Dad bought it in ’54/’55. It has a period motor, though not original. It ran when I got it, then the throttle cable – choke (?) broke and I have not tried to restart.
It has the frame for the soft top, but not the top. Front seats have been recovered. Has a box full of parts. It has had some body work done – such as replacing a fender. It comes with a utility trailer made from and old Willy truck bed I believe. Hard to part with as it was my dads who passed away, but it should be restored vs. sitting and rusting away. My hope was to have it restored, but not being able to work no it myself, it was too cost prohibitive.
I probably won’t be a wealth of knowledge on it, but ask anything and I’ll do my best! I will try to get a picture of the engine in a few days. The colorized pic is from several years ago when a friend cleaned it up. It does stay undercover and under tarp, but it needs more protection that that I feel.
Title should not be hard to transfer. I have what I need (I hope) from my dad’s paperwork. If not a local pick-up/ haul, you will need to arrange and pay cost of transport. I can easily be available to meet.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $8100
(11/10/2015) Looks very restorable.

“This old Willy’s body is mounted on a 1960’s VW frame and driveline. The body is rusty but still may appeal to someone out there who likes these old trucks. I far as I know it still runs but realize if you are looking at this it’s not the VW portion that appeals to you.”

For the past couple of days we’ve been having some good family fun at Ann’s uncles place. They have about 10 acres of flat desert that’s relatively uninteresting during the day, unless you have an ATV to explore the area, but at night comes alive with all types of creatures. Never a dull moment here!
Ann’s cousin Shelby found two things near the border of the property yesterday. A basketball and, of all things, a jeep grille, leftover from some mysterious plastic jeep. I can’t imagine why, but they thought I should have the grille. I guess it’s going up on my office wall somewhere.
Here are a few of the creatures we found at night:
Ken found this article and video about the Mini-Beep.
This could be a good price.

Dan spotted this nicely restored wagon. Despite the price, there is still a little work left.
“98 % complete needs a few final touches…Everything gone through…no rust, new paint inside and out, rubber, glass, headliner, white wall tires new or replated chrome original radio…rewired 12 volt system and electric wipers. Everything else is back to stock much more replaced. It has the F-6 161 Hurricane 685 Engine very rare 1952-1955. Sandblasted to bare metal professional paint job. This was a project I did while taking care of my terminally ill wife, she has passed and it is why I’m selling it. I’m willing to negotiate with shipping. A perfect parade vehicle…the PICs speak for themselves…I can email more. Call for more information.”

I have too many other toys and need to clear some space for winter. Shows 43XX miles. Odometer works, but speed needle is broke off. Comes with some documentation.”
