Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “It’s a roller. I have a new driver’s side full floor, rocker supports and rockers for both sides, and the DS lower cowl patch panel that goes with it. There’s also a bunch of other parts that can be had additionally including a spare set of doors, price to be negotiated. I also have a bell housing adapter for a Ford small block to T-90.”
The description suggests there is fiberglass used somewhere on the body.

“1946 cj2a engine is rebuilt with new cam and lifters, bored with new pistons, crank was turned,valves regroups and everything else that goes with a rebuild. I got this out of a clean dry garage where it had been since 1981. I have all the parts to put it back together that are not in pics. Radiator, generator, starter, carb , full exhaust some of it is new. My next move was to do brakes and engine components. This Jeep has a rare Sears and Roebuck hardtop kit from the 60sinstalled on it. I have two extra engines and some other parts that I will sell after the Jeep goes. Price is $6500. “New tires, rims, aluminum radiator, brake lines, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders. New carburetor, choke cable, transmission (parking) brake handle & cable. New tie rod ends (4), & rebuilt steering bellcrank, 4 new HD Rancho shocks, 4 new HD leaf springs. Fresh oil change + filter. New shifter boots. Compression is good on all cylinders. New exhaust. The passenger rear fender (black) is a steel replacement fender that is riveted in from the previous owner. Starts right up and drives good. Marine grade Bluetooth speakers on aftermarket rollbar, seats are freshly reupholstered. Rust is not bad at all on this thing! Comes with several extras including the original rims and original size tires, new carpet for the interior, a bull nose bar, and a spare carburetor. Has the Dauntless 225 fireball V6 engine. Comes with a waterproof UV cover, no soft top or hard top. Would recommend canvas WORX to get a custom one made!”

This one might have a Beck or Kelly half cab with an extension added on to cover the remainder of the tub. Looks to be an ex-service station jeep.

“I picked this up from the family who had owned it since 1957. It appears to be very original, converted to 12 volt electrical, I welded in a lot of new metal on the exterior of the tub, I replaced the floor pans and the hat channels as well, new fuel line and tank, new brake lines and wheel cylinders too. New exhaust as well, I have had it running on carb cleaner…sounds good…no smoke either…it will need tires…bring a trailer”

Bill shared this article about a WWII jeep found in France that was brought back to Luverne, Minnesota. The jeep has become part of a documentary about kids of a paratrooper who were invited to France to ride in the jeep and follow the trail of their father’s experience after landing in Europe on June 6, 1944. The jeep now resides and can be seen at Luverne’s National Guard Armory.

I tried to locate a trailer of the documentary, but didn’t have any success.
An owner of a collection of vintage jeeps in Chadron, Nebraska, posted to Facebook noting that if anyone near Chadron wanted to see his collection before he sells out, well they should get ahold of him. He expects most jeeps to leave the state. Maybe he will also consider some offers? He doesn’t mention when he plans to sell.

Bill shared this video interview of a former CIA agent who claims that when he was working for the CIA in Vietnam, there were at least three colors of jeeps. Not sure if buy “jeep” he is referring to M-38A1s, M-151s, or something else. The CIA used emerald green jeeps, while the Army had Olive Drab jeeps and Agency for International Development (AID) gray jeeps. You can listen to his description at the 9:40 mark of the video.

I looked up the serial number printed on the government plate, because I thought this might be Parkway conversion, but, according to the serial number, this is a 4×4 station wagon and not a sedan delivery.
