UPDATE: This is not for sale.
Roger shared these pics of an air-cooled engine he has. He showed it off at this year’s Willys Rally. It’s an air-cooled engine with “WILLYS” cast on the valve cover and intended for use as a generator, though he was told it was the same engine used in the M-274 Mule.
A parts/project Mule is hard to find!

“M247 Army Mule. Two engines, one 2 cylinder, one 4 cylinder. Has all new bearings and boots. 2 cylinder engine runs, 4 cylinder engine needs push rods. ”

Looks like a good price.
“I am selling a 1968 Baifield Industries USMC Mule M274a5. It has a Hercules A0-42 gas engine that runs great. It has 4×4, low & high range, and 4-wheel steer. We use it all the time to check cows and crops on the farm. It is fun to drive and always starts right up. Please message me if interested.”
Might be able to pick this project up for a good price. Lots of interesting stuff there.

“M274 half ton 4×4 utility platform truck. “Army Mule” Testing the waters here not desperate to sell. About 11,000 made, unknown how many of these military utility ‘s exist? Motor will run but has a bad cylinder and dumps oil fast. This model has the Hercules engine two cylinder. 3speed manual with 2 speed transfer case. If I sell, would like it to go to someone interested in its restoration. This was a project my dad never got around to. Body is in pretty good shape. Four wheel steering with full time four wheel drive. Pretty rare ATV that will go anywhere. Popular with ranchers, farmers, hunters, forestry service many possible uses. Not built to be fast or comfortable but extremely durable and reliable. Serious buyers only. Price is firm.”
This mule has undergone some customizations.
